Haircut quality was good. Got a simple taper. The barber seemed experienced. However, he was confusing between what a taper is and what a fade is, which is strange. -1 star.He was also reluctant to listen to my feedback and adjustment requests. -1 star.Overall, a little too expensive for the quality.

Very reasonably priced, incredible haircuts, and conveniently located. Ill definitely never go back to supercuts. Just remember that its cash only!

Original post:Booked with Ahmed since he apparently can do a fade. Don’t think that’s who I got... (Got the guy in the back). I usually get a fade into a comb over on top. Top looks good, but there is no fade... looks like he just cut straight up.Follow-up post:Ahmed personally texted me after he saw my original post and offered to tighten the fade, free of charge. Absolutely phenomenal customer service. I will be back.

I have gone to this spot every 2 weeks for the past 6 years during my time at BU and I can’t rate this high enough. Wonderful guys, with a classic barber shop atmosphere. I will miss my chats with Ahmed and my fresh fades! Will return whenever I come back to Boston! Thanks for everything guys!

Ive been getting my hair cut at this shop for nearly 7 years. I absolutely adore getting my hair cut by Alma. She is so careful, meticulous and detailed with each cut that I insist on waiting for her every time. The other guys are wonderful too. All in all, a great establishment!

I just had an amazing haircut from Abdul. He really took the time to listen to the haircut I wanted and his execution was perfect. He is also a very nice man and I enjoyed speaking with him while he was cutting my hair. 10/10 experience, will definitely be coming back to see Abdul!

Been getting my hair cut here for 3 years, and it is my go to place. The barbers who work here are great at what they do, and are always friendly and welcoming.Haircuts are only $20, and Ive never been there more than 40 minutes. Sometimes there is a line depending on the time of day, but theyre always sure to take care of you no matter how packed it is.Definitely would recommend.

The guy cutting farthest from the door is so awful at cutting hair. I asked for a low tape up and he just decided to shave off the sides of my head. 0/10 haircut, can’t even follow simple directions. Will never go to that man again and I suggest you don’t as well.

One of the most economical barber shops in around the Comm. Ave and Fenway areas. The staff are polite and interactive. Cash is the only acceptable mode of payment, though.

Got my haircut by Ahmed. He gave me a really great haircut, best I have had in a long time, and was a great dude to talk to. He made sure to explain everything that he was doing to avoid any unpleasant surprises at the end, and it came out exactly how I wanted. Awesome spot altogether!!

Go to get your hair turned into a mess for 20$. And the best part? It will only take 10 minutes! Seriously, I know it’s one of the few options around, but try your best to avoid it. The barber was rude and didn’t know what an inch was. What kind of barber in the US doesn’t know what an inch is? I felt like he was just trying to get it out of the way, which is in my opinion not only a sign of disrespect to the customer, but to your profession. Ugh what a scam.

The barbers there are hit or miss imo. Asked for a specific style and adjustments and barber just told me it looked better another way even when I told him I didnt want it that way. Also didnt listen to when I asked him not to cut regions my hair because Im letting it grow our. I would just spend money elsewhere. Fairly expensive considering the quality.

Quick and cheap. You get whichever barber is available next, no appointments. They generally dont listen to what you want and just cut your hair short how they please. If youre not picky about your hair, dont want to break the bank and get in and get out, this place is for you.

Went in with long hair asking for it to still be on the collar and over the ears and the guy cut it way too short (it’s well off the ears and collar). Even if I had asked for it to be this short it’s not a good cut with the back being too long in proportion to the rest of my hair. Awful experience.

Ive been coming here for the past few years since I discovered it after coming to Boston. They consistently give you the haircut that you want at a very reasonable price.

I went for a while and got an okay haircut but it was clear they didnt much care for a good look unless you got the right barber which was rarely. It is absolutely ridiculous they only take cash like it is 2019 and you used to take cards. Stop being cheap and get with the times. Not worth the ATM fees and a haircut worse than supercuts

Horrible. I showed the stylist a clear picture and verbally/visually described what I wanted. He then proceeded to destroy my hair and despite my constant requests for him to stop doing it wrong, he would say yes yes i know i know like man, Ive had bad haircuts but this is truly the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. Regret this so much.

Im normally a Supercuts guy but I cannot stand the inconsistency of a simple haircut there. University Barber is only a dollar more and they actually care; theyre communicative throughout the entire cut and dont rush through it like at Supercuts. Ive been happy with my haircuts here every time. Only downside is that they only take cash. Theres an ATM there but I dont like paying ATM fees.

Ive been twice (so far). Each time Ive been seen immediately and gotten exactly the cut Ive asked for an wanted. The barbers work quickly but I never feel rushed or poorly cared for. This joint is my go-to for a solid, unfussy, professional cut.

Hands down, the best barber shop in the city. I have also been going here for close to 20 years. Rino and his team of barbers are in a league of their own. I have friends who have moved out to suburbia 30 miles away, and they still drive into the city every 3 weeks to get a haircut by University Barber Shop.Most importantly, you will get the best haircut of your life, but the whole experience is an A+! Great people, with the mix of an old school feel with the vintage barber shop pole, and new school feel with flat screen tvs etc. I cant endorse this place enough. All it takes is walking through the door once and you are a customer for life!!

Really terrible place, got a haircut and asked for a adjustment at the end of it and the barber refused and said it would count as another haircut. They need to fire that guy, terrible customer service. I wont come here again. The haircut wasnt what I wanted and overall rude service.

$20 a haircut and they do not accept cards despite a comment I saw on here saying they take credit cards. Theres an ATM in the store for customers to get cash. If you want your hair cut in any sort of way, go somewhere else. Theyll essentially scalp your hair.

I showed just before 8, then subsequently waited 15-20 minutes. Not a sight of any activity inside. Not going to lecture anyone on how to run their business, but you should at least open within a few minutes of your listed Open time. With the 15-minute walk each way, this was a solid waste of an hour of my day.
