Absolutely ridiculous outrageous fees! In order to talk to your loved one you have to pay 100s of dollars. I mean Ive spent over $900.00 so far since April and thats not much talk time believe me. Im not quite sure how they are allowed to ROB us innocent people who just want to hear that their loved one is doing okay, safe, and is being taken care of properly. I can NEVER have a successful video call! Itd always going in and out. Hanging up, have to call back to experience the same thing. Its sad!! But I have to make sure my loved one is okay and this Is the only way I can get a hold of him. No visitation at the jail. If your going to charge this much you should make sure its going to work properly. Like 100% clear video calls, and quit taxing so much a regular phone call..

Very poor customer service. You can email them which they tell you to do on their phone line and they will email you back and tell you to call them. You then wait AT LEAST 10 minutes to talk to anyone. If you are having trouble with THEIR app they then blame it on your wifi connection. Same connection that Ive been using for a month and have never had problems with it until 3 days ago. So after them taking half of the money you put on you lose out on more money by not being able to talk to your loved one.

Very professional people that are caring, on top of what they do, and take pride in their services. They also keep a very clean, and neat ground inside and outside for the employees and customers.

The site nor the app are user friendly. The fees are outrageous. If you put 15.00 on there, you get to use 6.15 & the next time you put 15.00 on there you get to use 8.00. You put 10.00 and you get to use 4.50. Its 50 cents per minute for the video visits and the app freezes are just hangs up on you. Its terrible. Total rip off.

Way too expensive. It’s not us on the outside that are being punished. We shouldn’t have to go broke just to talk to our loved ones. They take half of what you pay for themselves every time! It is good to be able for your loved one to be able to talk to their family, BUT this site charges way too much. I put 60 dollars on his account and he only got 40. Come on people have a heart. I’ve been trying to call the phone line for days now and everytime I call I’m caller #60 and once I reach caller number #2 it pushes me back to the main menu of selecting 1 for English 2 for Spanish and I get pushed back to caller #60! What is wrong with y’all phone lines man this is rediculous and y’all got me where it says I reached my online limit for credit payments online !!!

They charge an arm and leg for you to be able to speak to your loved one, only for their system not to work. Theyre still charging for any and all messages being sent doesnt matter if its not reaching the other person. They will not refund any money nor will they send you the messages that were missed.

Like the website in being able to talk to friends in jail but is not the most user friendly site Ive been on. Fees are expensive! Commissary is not offered for the jail my friends are in.....cannot send money for commissary on their site either. Only buy phone cards and buying messages to send friends

I really like this app. It allows u to co tact and view them anytime. your even able to send pics and messages along with video calling.

The app does not work very well and needs a lot of adjustments! Maybe that is why it only has 2 or 3 stars and bad reviews on the BBB. I have talked to an Amanda Lincoln who is rude and only says well it must be on your end trying to uninstall the app and reinstalling does not do anything. The app is a waste of time and City Tele Coin should know based on all of the complaints but still nothing! I know multiple people including myself who have called and spoken with Amanda Lincoln an employee with city tele coin with the same complaint and are told the same thing. This employee is useless and rude.

Easy to navigate and saves time and aggrivation

City telecoin is way too expensive and they never going to pay it because we love our loved ones that are in there but they should definitely recommend better prices especially for customers that have been with them for over 2 or 3 years

The prices are completely jumbled and make no sense at all. If you use the app it says ths minimum amount you can add to your phone for them to call is 6.22 which is more than 10, yet when I log in on the website it says minimum is 3.82 on the same number at the same facility. I have also had an instance where it charged someones number who was long distance from the jail LESS than it charged my number that is in the same county as the jail. Its too expensive and seems to prey on families who want to talk to their loved ones. I understand making money but there is no sense in being greedy

If I could give zero stars I would. I have called multiple times asking to be blocked. I have tried blocking calls from this number on my end and still receive multiple voicemails. Last night while sleeping I received 7. This has been going on for over a month. I do not have an account and I have never had an account. I do not know any inmates. This is beyond frustrating. I have reported this company and have also filed with the Better Business Bureau. The next step will be contacting my attorney and filing a lawsuit. STOP!

Absolute highway robbery. It is so unfair how they screw vulnerable people over with excessive rates and fees. You spend so much money and you receive next to nothing. I’ve dealt with other companies that do a similar service, and all of them were much more reasonable and fair than this one. They really do capitalize on the fact that people will spend money they don’t even have in order to be able to communicate with their loved one. It’s sad.

I’m happy I can talk to a loved one that is locked up, but he’s costing me more now while incarcerated than when out borrowing money. The rates are way to high, and I use my husbands credit cards and I can not call and talk about anything bc my name is not on the card. Even with my husbands permission. That’s just wrong. I thank you for the service to be able to talk but you really need to bring rates down bc like other people have stated, it’s hard to keep an incarcerated loved one with everything they need and paying such outrages rates. Remember, the people in the outside helping and paying for this are the ones trying their hardest to keep two places going! Please, lower or reward people for spending 100s or 1000s on your site. Ty

I would highly recommend that everyone avoid doing business with this organization if at all possible. If you must work with them, know that they charge exorbitant fees and you will likely spend half of your money on fees. Know that the most efficient use is to NOT do $20 or $50 at a time, but rather $100+ so you are only charged their processing fees once. Also, remember to call them asap (you must call) when the inmate is released and request your refund or they will charge you their monthly statement fee of $2 until your balance is depleted. It is a complete sham of an organization, but it is a necessary evil is some cases. Sigh.

You would think in a time of crisis that city tele coin would offer a discount or even weekend free messaging and calls especially when any family member can be here one day a s gone the next. Right now its very important to keep in touch with family and city tele coin has made that hard and even impossible for everyone.

Paid $100 only $6 went towards account. Spend over 30 minutes with rep and supervisor. I spend tons of money and asked for them to refund my call that was cut short due to their error, and for my trouble. I have in mind to open up a cheaper system and take their contract. Their kiosk NEVER work either.

Utterly disgraceful failure of a company. Theyve made a shoddy program that doesnt always work. Tried to accept the call and it just kept repeating the options to me despite the fact I could see on my phone that I had pressed 1. Tried to accept the second call and it immediately disconnected me. On the third call (and keep in mind every phone call gives you about 45 seconds of automated crap, advertising their paid services, etc. before you can even accept the call) the one free phone call option the program gives you has been replaced with you must put money into an account ($5 each phone call) and if you ask the the representative if, at $5 a pop itll work, they themselves say they cant guarantee the call will work. Gee I wonder what the incentive would be to not fix the program? Could it be the fact that its cheating customers out of their one free call option so that they HAVE to give money to this terrible company to talk to their loved one? FAST FORWARD Im on the phone with Alex the supervisor who was VERY RUDE and slippery, basically arguing with me that theres nothing wrong with the program instead of just taking some simple customer feedback. He tried to argue with me that everyone elses call always work so it mustve been MY phone and not their program. Then I asked if he was aware of all the one star reviews online to which he answered they werent worried about anyone reviewing their company because it means nothing. ??? Citytelecoin is absolutely robbing individuals blind in complicated times. Their customer service is lacking professionalism. You are charged ridiculous fees and for calls that do not connect properly. If you contact customer service you are tasked down to like they are superior. Their website/app does not work as designed either.

This company is ridiculous! $6 for a 10 minute call. Then if the phone is broke or a bad connection they don’t care they still take your money. I sent in a email about being charged for dropped call. Well when the customer service lady called me back. She was very rude, she spoke in slang ! Then had the nerve to say she watched the video calls and I atleast got to talk to my father and I said I was coming to pick him up so why would I need a refund ?! This company is out to get money. They charge a family a ton of money if you want to communicate with a person in jail. Not too mention the $8 service charge fee. It’s not really about the money. It’s about the phones not working and calling to discuss the issue and having some lady who apparently wanted to discriminate against me for some reason !

This company is located in Louisiana but also doing phone services in Texas Jails. The fees feel very excessive. You have to pay the admin fee which is $3 if you do this online, or more if you do it through a rep over the phone. Then theres a $2 statement fee even though you can look at everything online. $1.50 credit card fee. Thats already $6.50 less going towards the phone account. You then have your taxes. State tax (Texas doesnt even have one) and local tax. This is not my issues. If i pay all these taxes and fees which results in less money going into the prepaid account for the inmate then why am i still being changed taxes and fees when they make calls to me. I was told calls are $0.21 a minute. I talked for 4 minutes and 13 seconds and that was $1.75. Lets just say we round up to 5 minutes for the call. 5 x 0.21 is $1.05. So there is $0.70 worth of fees axes which is over half the cost of the call it self. This does not seems fair. Before I put money on the account i called to ask questions about billing and the lady who answered was very rude and defensive over simple questions. Never had this issue at a bigger county jail with a different phone company what so ever.

As reported, charges and fees for everything involved with the company.I havent dealt with them recently, but I am again getting calls from my friend whos locked up. Their customer service is half and half, sometimes friendly, sometimes repulsive.Dealing with them gives off a feeling of sleazy, crooked business and it stinks having to, but youre at the companys mercy if you want to communicate with those you care about.Theyre as bad as the adult chat lines, but without the good time. Incredible were not charged to talk to reps there.

Rip off. Scheduled a video visit using the allotted time (12pm). Inmate never connects, so the call terminated. Tried to schedule another call and was told I didnt have any funds. Called and was told that the funds would be held until 2am the following day. Called the jail and was told that the inmates were on locked down until 2pm everyday and could accept calls then. Why have open scheduling times if the inmates can only talk at a certain time. Was then told Id have to put more money on the account and try the call again. Oh and a refund takes 120 business days.

I got wonderful and informative service from Brett, he informed me well on prices and gave excellent and clear services.. The prices might be high but what do you expect if the inmate was put in there for a reason? Of course they are going to be punished and not make it easy to communicate with the outside world they did the crime now do the time. ignorant crybaby people.

RIP OFF!!! The taxes they take off the deposits are absolutely outrageous!! You can count on at least $8.00 taken off every $20.00 you deposit. If that wasnt bad enough the rates they charge are! 0.50 each text sent and 0.50 for each text received, isnt great but Im sure it could be worse. But the 0.50 per minute for phone calls is definitly way too much! Im not sure if the inmate received the text messages when I sent them or not but when they sent me a message it would take on average at least 48 hours for me to receive it. Every single time I tried to use this system to make a payment, make any changes to the account, or check why I hadnt received messages I had been charged for, I had to contact customer service. The representatives are EXTREMELY RUDE & OBNOXIOUS! One even hung up on me. They also neglected to inform me of the extra money they charged me for doing anything thru their customer service system instead of doing it online. I cant see why any facility would ever use this service especially when there are so many more that are so much better available! I would never recommend city tele coin to any facility! If you or your inmate are unfortunate and get stuck having to use this system I apologize in advance because it will not be a pleasant or inexpensive experience for you.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences that I have come across. The person on the phone was not only rude, but made it sound as if I was wasting her time. When I asked for a confirmation number or email with the details of our conversation, she advised me that they dont do that. I clarified that she would not be able to provide me with a confirmation of any sort and she said That is what Ive been doing with all the typing you hear. Im documenting all of it. She also advised that it would take 120 business days to receive a refund which is not necessarily her fault, but bad business practice overall. All-in-all, Im glad that we no longer need to deal with this company or their less that acceptable customer service representatives.
