If I could rate below a 1, I would . My mom signed up a little over a month ago and unfortunately she recently passed away. When I called to cancel her account I was told her $25 deposit was non refundable. My mom never had a chance to use the service, and its not about the $25, its about good business and compassion which this company lacks. there are plenty of senior services, find another company to give your business too that has some compassion for your senior loved one
They gave a ride one way, but then when he called for a ride back they couldnt give one. Kept him on phone for 90 min while trying to find a driver. Oh well, seems like a good concept, but never again
Very disappointed, it sounded like a great service for Seniors but they did not follow up with the sales pitch. Tried to contact to arrange a ride for a important medical appointment. We could not reach anyone, left on hold forever.
Put your credit card away. Dont bother enrolling. A good idea in practice, a horrible experience in reality. So bad that I broke my own rule and am writing a review. Signed up to have my mothers prescription delivered. They route everything through Uber or Lyft. The Uber driver had no idea they were supposed to pick up a prescription and not a person. After multiple text messages and calls they dropped the ball and never followed up on the request. So ridiculously sad they are doing this to Seniors. They say they are partners with Uber and Lfyt but there is no way those companies would associate their brand with this operation. They also have no way to cancel online or receive a refund of the deposit they charge when you sign up. Go Go Grandparent is not ready for prime time. If there is an actual product team they need to rethink the entire model and stop trying to make Uber and Lyfts platform do something it doesnt do. Seniors require clear, simple messaging. You guys dont know what youre doing.
Youd think that with the name Grandparent in their title, they would offer a little more assistance when it comes to scheduling a driver that can help customers in and out of wheelchairs. All this service is is a call center that schedules rides for seniors who dont have an app for Uber or Lyft.
I have enjoyed the services of GoGoGrandparent for 2 years and am satisfied and grateful for their services. Their customer care team and drivers have been very responsive at meeting my needs and answering questions. Extremely helpful when I needed quick transportation.
100% honesty... there were 68 ratings. So had to round er out. (Nice)
My Mom missed her Dr. appointment because they never showed up! Never called! Never contacted her at all! If I could give them negative stars I would.
I have had four great rides now with GoGoGrandparent, with the best conversations I have had in a long time. You do a great job picking and training drivers.
Ive had great experiences with this service experiences! I needto speak with someone to insure that the driver s vehicle can accomodate my wheelchair and being able to do that is a great help!i intend to use them every time thati need to go somewhere!
I drove a passenger for them through Lyft and was given no direction as to where to go or whether to wait for the passenger or leave. I called the support which told me to leave the passenger there, it was 108 degrees and she was an elderly passenger. I told them that that does not make any sense especially since the passenger did not know exactly what was happening with the technology. The support ended up hanging up on me and then I spent the first hour of my workday with this one ride. I had to cancel the ride when I finally drove the passenger back home because there was no way to end the ride without it. Which means that I got no pay for the hour. I won’t ever be driving a passenger through them again and I suggest that no one trust them with themselves or their family members, since they have no problem leaving elderly people in the heat.
My mother is 93 years old and I finally told her she couldnt drive anymore. GoGoGrandparent has been wonderful! They have people available 24 hours a day to answer the phone. I was able to set up recurring pickups and give them the addresses of all her doctors so that she only has to give them the name to order her pickup for an appointment. Couldnt be happier.
Do not trust this company with your loved one. They have no communication policy in place if a driver fails to show up. I made arrangements in advance only to find out for myself that a driver left my loved one stranded. This is a company that prides itself on caring about the well being of seniors. They are one giant FAIL.
I hope im giving a review for Gogograndparent rides in Dallas, Texas. Today was the third time i used this service and it was excellent as were the first two. I gave them short notice and there was no problems. The driver was friendly and courteous and arrived quickly! Always nice clean cars not brand new but good enough for me. I will use this service again and again..price is fare and well worth the service. Thanks Gogo grandparents for your service! I salute you!
An unreliable and dysfunctional ride service. The driver I ordered never showed up, its impossible to get a live person on the phone to order a ride or ask a question, and my clinic could not order my ride back home. Im currently having an issue cancelling my account. I caution you to use this service, as youll probably encounter the same level of frustration I had to today. GoGoGrandparent does not have a clue about servicing seniors.
I found this site GoGoGrandparent and thought this was an answer to my prayers. My father, Frank who is 90 needs a ride to his physical therapy appointment. I followed the directions on the website. Called and spoke to a gentlemen and thought it was all done. Oh wait not so quick-when my father called the phone number for GoGoGrandparent he was told that this was not his account. So, he called me, (I was out of town). I then spoke to Zeni-who told me she was sorry for the inconvenience. OK sounding good-wait after 10 minutes on the phone again I thought problem solved. NO!! 5 drivers did not show up and when on did she told my father they could not take him. Well he had to cancel his appointment-oh and GoGoGrandparent charged me $36.00. When I got home and found all this out-I called and spoke to John, he was also sorry. However he could not tell me what went wrong. Great idea-run poorly-not to be trusted.
Thank you profusely for the wonderful service. I have been using you for two weeks and I could not be happier. I am so satisfied with your service, the drivers are fantastic and always arrive right on time.
I just want to tell you about the wonderful people that you having working for you. Your operator Ryan was so helpful. I just got out of surgery and I was not feeling well when I left my phone in the car. I was so upset and Ryan did everything he could to try to contact the driver. Soon after, there was a knock on my door and the driver brought my phone back to me. He is a really sweet young man, after being a teacher in Chicago, I really appreciate nice young people.
Thank you so much for all the help! This company will make my life so much easier and I am very grateful I found you! I wont have to rely on my daughter anymore!
You have given me a new security. I have never been taken care of like this before. Thank you for being there and providing this service. My drivers were incredible, both arriving within 5 minutes, taking the shortest route and assisting me in and out of the car. The second driver, that picked me up from the funeral, parked in an area so that I didnt have to use the stairs. Both drivers made sure that I got in safely. I could not be happier with my experience, from the operators that answered her calls to the drivers that showed up. You are worth every penny, and more. I have give your number to at least six friends.
I have gone through a rough patch with two brain injuries since April. It is hard to put into words how thankful my husband and I both are for your services. Firstly because it makes it so easy for me to actually call & set up a ride and secondly because it relieves my husbands worries with the texts - knowing that Im making it to Dr. appointments; when Im getting picked up and dropped off.
I just love your service. Everyone has been wonderful. I dont have a car anymore and this is great for people on a limited budget.
This sevice is great in theory, but they have far too many failures in practice. Ride share drivers cannot contact the customer directly. In some cases, the rider is blind and/or deaf and GoGo is not able to reach the rider.
I think that creating Gogo was as incredibly sensitive thing to do. It really enhances the quality of my life to be able to do from my my flip top phone. It in many ways replaces the freedom I lost when I lost my vision.
I like gogo grandparent. My mom has used it a few times and shes 86. I dont have a smart phone so Ive used it as well. A few comments:1. No offense, but dispatchers usually arent native speakers or local. On the cell phone it is doubly hard for them to understand the caller and Ive had a heck of a time understanding them. It got so hard to communicate with her that I was ready to give up. In the end she misunderstood me and sent the driver to the wrong place. I ended up rushing to the airport in order not to miss my flight. No one benefited. The dispatchers are the front line coordinators. Please do put your best communicators, most resourceful folks in this position, and give them the best training and equipment.2. Yesterday I tried to go to Portland international airport. She asked me for the street address. It seems to be the new protocol, however, they should just look it up. How many people anywhere know the street address of the international airport in their cities. There probably is an app, but I and grandparents usually have a simple phone. Whoever, came up with this idea seems to have forgotten the main clients for this service.
Horrible service!!! dont use!!! i am a lyft driver and Gogogranparent sent me illegally the senior citizens numbers, then when they werent ready at the assisted living facility they told me to just cancel the ride and ill get $5 and it will charge the old person?!?!?!?!? this is such bad service to their customers. and I didnt cancel but went to front desk, and spent 40 minutes to make $3.77 to make sure the nice old people got where they are going.. so they try to rip off old people or dont pay lyft/uber drivers anything more for their extra service.. horrible ethics, horrible company... dont do this to your loved ones..
The intention is good here, but until you have dispatchers and call takers who speak English well enough to communicate with native English speakers, there are going to be issues. I called a ride for my 92 year old Mother and no matter who I spoke with, they could not understand me well enough to get the address correct. It took 3 calls to finally get a driver to the right address. And to make matters worse, the drivers who were sent to the incorrect address because the dispatchers could not understand English charged us a cancellation fee. GoGoGrandparents is a great concept that is being poorly executed. Sad.
I like this company, they provide good service in time, with good drivers personality, clean reliable cars and reasonable prices
This service is amazing and such a lifesaver. Our father is no longer able to drive due to vision issues and using GoGoGrandparent has given him back independence that he lost when he had to stop driving. Smartphone apps are far too confusing and intimidating for him, but with this service he calls an 800 number and speaks with a helpful, friendly operator to request a ride. The icing on the cake is that I get a text and know when he gets picked up and were he was dropped off! Every experience so far has been extremely positive for him. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
I thank God for your service. I use it as often as I can afford . It makes me independent. The service I have received is excellent. The drivers are sweethearts and even though I sometimes have someone with me they offer to help and seem happy to do so.
SORRY I EVEN HAVE TO LEAVE ONE STAR. A BUNCH OF MORONS WHO CANT GET ANYTHING STRAIGHT. TOLD ME THE CREDIT CARD WAS FOR ONE TIME. BIG LIARS. LOST MY RESERVATION. HAD TO WAIT AND DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN WITH THE MORON ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE.DIDNT KNOW THEY WOULD CHARGE IT TO MY CARD. ASKED THE DRIVER HOW MUCH IT WAS AND HE SAID 15.00. DID NOT TELL ME IT WAS PAID FOR SO I GAVE HIM A TWENTY. NOW I SEE THEY CHARGED MY CARD TOO. WILL NEVER USE THESE IDIOTS AGAIN.
Although this service has great potential, it is not remotely ready for prime time. I signed up for it for my parents. When they call - or when I call for them - it takes 5 - 10 minutes to get an operator. Oftentimes there is so much background noise you cannot hear the operator. In many cases the operators primary language is not English so they are very difficult to understand, which is even more difficult for an elderly person. When we finally are able to schedule a ride, for two of the three times we actually got one scheduled, I received multiple text notifications of different drivers who were going to arrive at my parents home in 26 minutes. For this one request we were told Curtis would be there in 26 minutes, then William, then that William cancelled, then that Jose would be there in 26 minutes, then that Francisco would be there in 26 minutes, then the Operator cancelled, then Sony would be there in 26 minutes. That was the last text. No one ever did show up, so they missed a doctors appointment. I called them on three times and left complaints with an operator, and was promised a call back by a supervisor. Each time they had no record of the complaint. Once a supervisor did call back, I returned that call with in minutes, was told the person would call back, but he never did. This is a great idea that is being very poorly executed. It is not ready for elderly people - or anyone else, for that matter. Very disappointing.
Cost is 3 to 5 times MORE then a taxi or Uber or LYFT.Horrible! It’s deceiving about the .27 per minute and the cost to help the elderly etc.I got this option for my 83 year old elderly dad, so he can call and get a ride.I was with him and followed the driver making sure dad knew how this worked.I called Uber, it was less than a mile and the charge would have been $3.40.Then I called GoGo Grandparent with my dad. It appears there cost would have been less than Uber or Lyft. This cost for GOING less than one mile was $12.00. Three times the amount of just getting a taxi Uber. This is fraudulent and elderly abuse!!!!!Horrible and the poor seniors may not even know the over charging has occurred. So when I spoke with a representative from GoGo Grandparent, they said we were over charged! However, broke out the charge as .27 per minute for them, .27 per minute for UBER/or LYFt and then additional $1.07 per mile too? Charging both for miles and minutes? Payout twice for minutes too.I had my dad do the ride again, just to confirm my suspicions- a $5 dollar ride cost him $26.00!!It’s insane and there trying to help the elderly? What? Help rob them of money? So so disappointed! Not to mention, all the Lyft and Uber drivers get the blunt of the disappointment of ride cost blown up 5x.Your thoughts?
I had hoped they went bankrupt. Worst company ever. They exploiting those old people. They have never done any ride correct. forgetting destination always. Some of those poor souls r pretty sinile and dont know address. Horrible experience for us drivers and passengers.
I keep getting tons of calls. I have never heard or used this service.
I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate your service and it is helping to save my sister’s life. I signed her up in January of this year. If you look at this account you will see that it is used very frequently and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing transportation for the sick and elderly.
I used it once for my mom and it was awful. They gave the wrong address to the driver and he never arrived. Plus, he put in that he picked her and and delivered her and then we were charged! We received a full refund but a few weeks later we got charged for a cancelled trip. They still have not refunded for that. I will never use them again. Its too bad, the concept is great.
From my 95 year old mother who has used this service since 2016:It is a great service that I use 3-4-5 times a day. I signed on over two years ago and it just gets better and better. They just added a new benefit. When they pick you up where they dropped you. off, they now ask: “Do you want to go home?” . . .All you have to do is hit the #1 button on your FLIP PHONE and the driver knows where to take you.Frieda Rapoport CaplanGoGoGrandparent user since 2016
I am really happy that you were so patient with me while we talked. I know I can talk a little slow at times but I cant help it. So it means a lot that you did this with me.
From my experience with this wonderful service its an awesome concept that has afforded me to get to places I otherwise wouldnt be able to get to. Truly grateful!!
This company is horrible. I have an elderly client that uses this service and 95% of the drivers are awful. They don’t help her in or out of the car, they scold her if she takes an extra few minutes, just horrible. I have called directly to the company and they just don’t care. I would never let my Grandma use this service. If you advertise for a specialty service, you should probably provide that specialty service.
These people are liars!! DETOUR.. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!! They don’t even deserve 1 Star. They are less then adequate in this industry. They advocate that they are there to assist your love ones in their time of need for transportation purposes. I spoke to Carlos Cruz and everything he had promised not an ounce of that was delivered.Services we book with ample time. Driver was late picking up love one. Vehicle was disgusting dirty, smelly. Driver was short and rude to my love one. Driver also got lost on route and arrived even more late (33 mins late) to my loved ones appts. Mr. Cruz had informed me that I would be paying for a concierge service because he would make sure that he would expedite and follow up with everything. I was told their services would let me know when a driver was confirmed.. never happened. I was told I would receive a text when my loved one was picked up.. never happened. My love one was 33 mins late to her appt and caused her to miss her appt.Do not pay for this service. I found out later that they do not even have a driver communication in stalled. I urge anyone looking into these services. Save yourself, time, effort and mental anguish DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!! You are better off calling UBER. The pricing is just the same but I did not have any of the problems I had with these people.
Awful service that exploits Lyft drivers. Gives the Lyft driver a wrong address, and neither them nor the nurse make any attempt to correct it or or bother to do their job. From now on Ill consider every GoGoGrandpa request an easy cancellation fee.
All I hear from patients being picked up from Clinics or facilities, that are left here, is that there is no communication given to them when the driver cancels. This is not good at all :(
As always, the service and the driver were terrific. As good as it can be.LarryO
Just use Lyft or Uber. Same service less money.
Everything about the way your system is put together shows how much you all care about the people you work with. I am just amazed.
Overcharge
Fraudulent charges of $200 came out of my bank acct for this company I had never heard of until 11/24.Called the company right away after seeing the charges and spoke with a supervisor named Tony,Tony was able to find the person who made these charges to my card gave me the full name and location of this person, but advised me that because I called my bank first to have my card blocked (so this scum of a person couldnt take more of my money),that they could not reverse the charges.on 11/26 I went to my bank to fill out a dispute of charges form and talk to someone, before I even filled out the form they advised me that a reverse would still be possible even if the card is blocked, and this company is just assuming otherwise.I attempted to call back the company while at the bank so I can settle everything there but the rep Alex said no supervisor was available,I told her if I didnt receive a call back in about an hour I would be calling back.I did receive a call back from a supervisor(couldnt catch his name) and by the end of our 2 calls, somehow him and his superior are now telling me that charge doesnt show up l it doesnt exist, they dont have my money and I should take it up with my bank, but somehow 200 dollars is still missing from my bank account and the name listed on the charge is their company gogograndparent,I am a 26 year old mother of 3 I live 6 hours away from where these charges were made for,and I dont have any one within the age range that would need that service nor would I be affording that price. I hope it wasnt for one ride because that is horrific,I wouldnt be as upset if they werent basically saying the charge disappeared into thin air on their end.
This service has been so helpful, it notifies us when the parents are using the service. It has been very difficult not allowing them to drive, gogo grandparent has helped them maintain their Independence.
Be very careful using this service to transport your loved ones! They simply use automated software to dispatch a regular Uber or Lyft to pick up your loved one and charge you an additional $16.20 per hour on top of the charge from Uber or Lyft for the entire ride.Your loved one is entirely dependent on the Uber or Lyft driver to not leave them stranded somewhere. Uber and Lyft drivers can cancel a trip at any point in the ride and ask your loved one to leave the vehicle and they are in no way responsible for what happens to your loved one. There is also no insurance coverage if your loved one is injured outside of the vehicle say for example if the driver is walking your loved one to their door (something most drivers will not do) or assembling their walker. Many Lyft and Uber drivers will not even accept these rides and cancel when they find out it is a GoGo ride.Ask yourself, do I trust my loved one to ride in an Uber or Lyft by themselves before using this service and paying extra for it...
Id give zero stars if I could. This service charges seniors extra to arrange a ride, and even charges for extra services, yet none of these fees go to the driver, who is rarely even aware of this service. Im glad that some people have found the service useful, but the fact is theyre not paying drivers any extra beyond what Uber/Lyft pay, yet they expect Uber/Lyft drivers to perform these extra services with no extra compensation.
WTH? Really? Why would anyone want to use this service when they could just download the Lyft app and schedule the pickup themselves? Why would anyone WANT to pay more for their ride? This company is literally being a middle man for something that doesnt need a middle man. What scum.
This service is amazing . It has given my grandparents the ability to use their flip phones to schedule Uber rides and most importantly, it has given them their independence back. Been using it for 1+ year now.
I know your intentions are good to help people out, but your follow through on what your business is is not good. Your employees if there are any don’t know how to call a Lyft. When you call a Lyft, the passenger is supposed to be at that address waiting it’s curb to car service, not door to door service. I will let you know that I am a Lyft driver that has picked up or try to pick up quite a few go go grandparent clients. One gogo grandparent employee told me that I had to go to the address door. Most of the time they don’t even bother to tell the senior that the ride is there and give a phone number to call. Most Lyft drivers don’t like this and the proof is in the pudding:I received a ride today for a gogo grandparent customer. she was outside with in the five minute window, She got into the car and she was so nice, so sweet. There was no address entered into the ride (another thing Lyft drivers don’t like). I kindly asked her what the address was and she was able to tell me and helped with telling me the directions to get there. The majority of Lyft drivers don’t do these things at all, Sometimes we go out of our way and love to help, but taking advantage of this and charging the senior more than the lyft ride is just plain wrong. This nice lady that I gave a ride to volunteered some information that really got me steamed. Another time she called GoGo Grandparent and it took 2 hours before she got a ride. She went on to tell me that she was charged the same and Gogo grandparent would not refund her. I know for a fact: LYFT WOULD REFUND!!!!I have no respect for this. Passengers have told me ( younger ones) that they spent a bit of time helping a senior figure out how to get the payment to work on one rideshare app, couldn’t and then tried the other with out success (maybe it was the app or the phone) he then called a lyft for her on his own account. (They did not know each other at all!) That’s so nice and that’s all these seniors need is a friend or relative to order a lyft for them and let them know when it arrives. This company can’t even do that.
AS WEVE BEEN WARNED-BEWARE OF EXTRA FEES. Tried GGGP for the 1st time today to get my mom to the dentist. She got there and got back to her rehab facility but only after doubling the lyft charges back, due to a shortage of drivers in the area (Tustin) REALLY, 10AM on Friday to go 6 miles? Seems like an arbitrary surge fee charged at their discretion. A bit unprofessional.
GoGo has been a lifesaver for me.26 years ago, at the age of 47 I was declared blind. It was sudden and devastating. I have come a long way since then and now it is more a nuisance than anything. Here in the suburbs of Philadelphia I do have access to great public transportation which I do use. However, there are those situations where a wonderful service like GoGo sure comes in handy. I have an older flip phone and when I learned of GoGo and that it would work using it I was thrilled. It is a great service and even more than getting rides here and there it has helped me remain independent.Keep up the good work GoGo!
Gogograndparents has been a life changer and stress reliever for me and my husband. I am legally blind and do use public transportation to maintain my independence. I did want to use Uber or Lyft-but no smartphone. I googled transportation without a smartphone and gogo popped up. I immediately signed up and have been delighted with the wonderful service that you provide. The drivers have all been courteous and friendly and arrived at the time promised. Stress reliever because owning a car is expensive and difficult for seniors and best of all an empty garage to be used for an extra room. During the eclipse week in Oregon with over one million extra people here gogo was still on target. Thank you so much for being there for seniors. -Glennis McWilliams Portland Oregon
What a horrible, idiotic service. I drive for Lyft and Uber. They texted me 3 times to tell me (nothing really useful) about the passenger. Do they know that were *DRIVING* and shouldnt be reading text messages? Their methods and processes are a hazard to everyone on the road. Only use this if youre OK with creating a potentially lethal hazard.
On Thursday, 19 Oct,, I called for a pickup at 657 Adobe Dr., Danville, about 3:40 pm. The operator said driver would come in 15 minutes. He didnt arrive. Recd a call finally to say driver cancelled! She would have to find new driver. She gave me name of new driver Lay (Its now about 4:15 pm. Driver didnt arrive until 4:50 pm. After waiting so long, I had found a friend to come to pick me up. They both arrived the same time. I cancelled Go Go. The driver said he was lost in the hills...dont they have GPS? I was stranded for over an hour.I thought Go Go Grandparents was going to be the answer to seniors problems with transportation!.I am reluctant now to depend on the service.Mrs. Gerie Paige, 5920 Horsemans Drive, Walnt Creek.

WOW JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS SERVICE COST THE SENIORSALOT OF MONEY THIS ONLY HELPS THOSE WITH MONEY AND CANNOTUSE THE PHONE THE CHARGE $.27 PER MINUTE THEY ARE IN THE CARPLUS UBER/LIFT RATES.......
The service is always good. Some of the drivers are not always good.
Outstanding. brilliant.
Do you trust grandma with Uber or lyft????
They keep the tips due to driver on ride sharing apps.
Scam.
If you have a medically fragile or cognitively compromised loved one, dont use this service. I enrolled a family member a year ago and then closed the account in May of 2021 after my loved one could not competently use it after getting stranded out of town with no way to get home with the service - no cars available. This is an 82 year old with a walker who had no idea how to get home. Somehow after I closed the account, my person got into the account and requested a ride to a local casino. I was notified by GoGo that my person was requesting a ride, and I told them Id deactivated the service and not to give him a ride. Then I get a text that the driver is on their way to the assisted living facility to get my person. I tried calling GoGo and was put on hold. Meanwhile I tried to call the driver who hung up on me. Anyhow, my loved one ended up stranded at their destination with several cancelled rides. I called GoGo and yelled at them that if they arranged a ride after I told them not to, it was their responsibility to get him home. I spent a long time on the phone with a supervisor who said the said the service was never cancelled. I found the e-mail from May indicating theyd closed the account. So who is lying???? My loved one did finally get home after two hours of trying to get a ride and me yelling at them. If you have a loved one who needs to use a ride service forget it. Or have someone as a backup when this service fails which it has for us 100%. From now on Ill arrange rides myself, communicate with the driver and make sure they are at a destination in the city where rides are available if we cant transport them.
