After a stressful year of trying to get a hospital and doctors in another state to submit bills correctly and send me information - they just ignore you - I called Ken at the suggestion of my daughter, an attorney. Hes kind, very knowledgeable, a great listener, and very thorough and persistent. He succeeded in settling the accounts at a significantly reduced rate. I am so relieved and thankful for his help in putting it all behind me!
Ken did an amazing job on my behalf navigating medical bills. He is very responsive and the utmost proffetional. He will no doubt save you a lot of money. I would highly recommend Human Health Advocate.
I think Ken saved my sanity. I ended up with a nonsense $34k bill for an out of state and out of network ER visit where I barely even had anything done. $34k for some tests, painkillers, observation, and discharge. I was also in the perfect storm of not qualifying for any of the usual legal protections from both the state where Im insured and state of service. Insurance applied $2900 to my deductible (which was in the realm of what the visit should have cost, paid $0 for the rest, and marked the entire bill as paid.Initially, I had no idea how to handle the situation. Paying would be outrageous. It took a couple phone calls to conclude that I also wasnt getting anything from insurance. And I had no idea who to contact at the hospital to get the situation resolved fairly. From what I read on the internet and what some other medical bill negotiation services told me, the hospital from the particular chain I was dealing with also had a no negotiation policy. Ignoring it? I would strongly reserve to get the situation resolved cleanly. After weeks of research on the internet, I thought I found my guy. After I went in for my consultation, I felt a huge difference in my stress levels because I had the confidence that somebody was handling the situation so I wouldnt have to worry about it. I had successfully outsourced the stress. The entire process took almost a year but has been resolved to my satisfaction. Ken got in contact all the way up to the CFO and got me a price that I considered reasonable and affordable with a hospital that has a no negotiation policy. Im honestly not sure if I could have gotten a deal if I had hired anyone else. The most interesting part was that when I presented the situation to him, the more impossible I made the situation sound, the more interested he was. Hes not just in it to make a profit. Yes, he does have to charge and his fees are not low. But he only charges when hes actually working (not on hold on the phone). And most of the time when we have an appointment, he undercharged me because he also doesnt bill for chit chat.
Kenneth Kline is an Angel. There arent words to language my gratitude for all his Angelic Assistance. I highly recommend anyone who needs an Advocate to call him now. Expect a Miracle and be open to receive!
5 stars for Kenneth! He returned my email the same day with a phone call. He listened to my concerns and helped me to plan strategies. He offered follow up help. He seems genuinely concerned with my health care dilemmas. His number one priority seems to be helping others. He has a great sense of humor.
I brought to Ken Klein and his company a Gordian Knot of a health insurance problem. I was riddled with anxiety about it. Ken told me there was a solution and not to worry. It did take sometime (thanks a lot 2020) but he never let up or gave up. There is no question that I would recommend Human Health Advocates (and I have). Thank you Ken!
If you are experiencing any issues concerning payment of medical bills, I cannot more highly recommend you contact Human Health Advocates. I believe a brief background will help illustrate how Human Health Advocates assists people in my position not only in reducing their bills, but more importantly in reducing the stress that accompanies the calls and letters people receive while they are either in treatment or trying to recover from whatever befell them.In May of 2018 I was diagnosed with a Stage Three Sarcoma on my back, close to my spine. The disease had progressed to the point where I was unable to walk more than thirty feet at a time. I luckily found a great team of specialists at University of Miami. The first step was to install a port in my chest, followed by chemotherapy, which lasted for six months, then six weeks of radiation, an operation that removed four ribs and my trapezoid muscle, and then further chemotherapy. As you can imagine, the medical bills associated with this amount of care was in the high six figures.Early on, I was notified by my insurer that they would be challenging the bills, as my policy had renewed in March and they stated I had a “pre-existing condition” which I had not disclosed on my application. As I had not been diagnosed until May, I believed the determination was inaccurate. Regardless, I began receiving medical bills for tens of thousands of dollars every week. It was not a burden that anyone enduring massive doses of chemo should ever have to deal with. Luckily, a friend suggested I contact Ken, the President of Human Health Advocates.Ken immediately scheduled a meeting. He listened intently to my story and assured me that he would have all my bills redirected to his office and that he would “handle everything so I could focus on my health”. He did just that. There were no more calls and the occasional bills that were mistakenly sent to me were immediately handled by his office. From that point on, I didn’t concern myself with anything but being cancer free.In the end, Human Health Advocates reduced my medical bills to less than a third of what was billed. Ken kept me abreast of what was happening the entire way and ultimately arranged a payment plan that I could afford. I have no doubt that my recovery was in no small part due to the relief from stress that Human Health Advocates provided.
Kenneth and his team are the best in the business. If you are experiencing billing issues with your healthcare provider, such as excessive charges or surprise bills in the mail, this is the place to go. I cannot recommend them enough.
I want to personally thank Ken and Mary and the team at Human Health Advocates for being so thorough and working so hard on my behalf. It was an unfortunate circumstance for me and they made it as peaceful as possible. I really appreciate the extra effort and great results! Thanks so much!
I recently had the opportunity to meet with Mary and Ken of Human Health Advocates. I was very pleased with their professionalism and knowledge of service that their company provides. When I initially contacted them I appreciated their immediate response to my inquiry and the way they conduct their business. I have recommended their company to others because of my satisfaction with their service. When it comes to getting advice of qualifying medical bills from providers you could not choose a better company to assist in deciphering the legitimacy of those bills.
Im a medical debt collector and I speak with Ken often. I deal with alot attorney and advocate groups. By far Ken is my favorite he is always concerned about his clients, and he is always nice. His tenacity for his clients only helps the end results.
Ken and Mary were very professional, knowledgeable, honest, kind, and easy to work with in resolving a surprise medical bill. My family and I are truly grateful for the work they do.
Human Health Advocates were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. They have not only taken the time to listen to my case, review all my concerns, but they have also walked me through each step of the process. They have given me all the information I needed and provided me with all the support that was necessary. The assistance was very fast and they have given me peace of mind while handling my case. I truly appreciate their services and highly recommend it.
Medical billing is frankly criminal for those without insurance. Once you get through the shock and stress of a medical issue, you get to experience it all over again when you get the bill. I was able to get some advice from Doctor friends, but not enough to really help. I am so happy I found the nice folks here. They are not only experts at what they do, they are compassionate people who care about their customers.
I had a hip replacement surgery 18 months ago that was initially covered. I recently retired from the company that I spent 30 years of my life working for. Originally, they had approved my upcoming surgery because the hip problem was job connected. To my surprise, after a successful surgery, I began receiving hospital and doctors bills. I was extremely confused and worried. After multiple phone calls I found out that my company denied coverage for my surgery and the realization that I owed an incredible amount of money set in and retirement became a nightmare. Many hours of research led me to Human Health Advocates. It has been a great experience from the start. They were warm and welcoming and I felt comfortable during our first meeting. It was apparent to me that this team was going to work hard for me and they did. Within just a few months they were able to reverse the decision to deny coverage for my surgery. They saved me an incredible amount of money, saved my retirement, and alleviated the immense amount of stress that I had been experiencing. I want to send a special thank you to Mr. Ken Klein and Mary. The both of you have been wonderful throughout. I recommend anyone who needs assistance with medical bills to contact Human Health Advocated. Ken and Mary will do their best to assist you in your time of need.
Mary Denaro and Kenneth Klein, the professionals at Human Health Advocates, LLC, were both caring, compassionate people with our best interests at heart. Like many others, we experienced unexpected healthcare bills 2 years after our date of service. Mary and Ken were able to dig thorough the complicated situation and negotiate a settlement favorable to all concerned. We look back on our experience with Human Health Advocates, LLC with gratitude.
My son needed surgery in August 2016. Beforehand, we were assured by the surgeons office and our insurance company that our out-of-pocket costs for the surgery would be minimal. We were relieved by this news as we werent financially in a position to pay for an expensive surgery. So, it was a devastating shock when an outrageously expensive bill from the surgeons office arrived a month after the surgery. We felt betrayed and totally helpless and knew there was no way we could possibly pay the bill. I lost many, many nights of sleep thinking about how the unpaid bill would negatively affect our credit, and our lives, for many years to come.Out of sheer desperation, I decided to search online for sources of help for resolving expensive medical bills and I came across the website for Human Health Advocates. I reached out for more information and Ken Klein responded right away. A couple days later I met with Ken for the initial consultation and thats when my despair finally turned to hope. From that first day and over the next several months, Ken and Human Health Advocates were my saving grace. Through Kens never-wavering compassion, knowledge, diligence, resourcefulness, professionalism, patience, and optimism, what started as a life-altering medical bill nightmare turned out to have a fairy tale ending. I truly dont know what we wouldve done if we hadnt found Ken and Human Health Advocates. I would definitely, without hesitation, recommend the services of Human Health Advocates and Ken Klein to anyone needing support and assistance with a difficult health care cost dilemma.Ken, we cant thank you enough for being our bright light through the dark.
Amazing service. They walked me through the steps and action items that i need to take to reduce my payments and balances. They were very professional, polite and honest. They actually asked me to take care of a few things on my end before hiring them because if i do hire them before that i wont be saving as much as I possibly can.Highly recommended!!
Uber knowledgeable, professional, empathetic and calculated. Kenneth and Mary are strategic and pragmatic in their approach - proving insightful ways to manage the complicated and stressful nuances of hospital bills and insurance. Im glad I had them at my side.
A free consultation with Kenneth Klein and Mary Denaro brought me useful advice in regards to my medical bills as an uninsured patient who went into hospital emergency for a hip fracture. I greatly appreciate the professional impute I received at Human Health Advocates. I will now proceed with more confidence in this matter, hopefully to the best possible outcome. Highly recommend.
Kenneth saved me over twenty-eight thousand dollars and for that I am very grateful. I bought insurance from my employer that qualified under the Affordable Care Act’s Individual Mandate assuming that it was reasonable coverage but it only paid for a small fraction of my hospital bill. Kenneth demanded that the Hospital reduce their sky-high charges and through diligence and persistence he got me a significant reduction. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism.
I consulted with Ken about an emergency helicopter ride that my wife had had after a stroke. The bill was very high. Ken was very helpful while being knowledgeable, and genuinely concerned that we could get the best possible settlement. He was very pro-active, and after having spoken with him for over an hour on the phone we hung up. Ken called back a while later with more insight and questions, it was clear our case was on his mind. Ken was spot on. We settled with the provider under a confidentiality agreement that I am unable to divulge. But many thanks to Ken for being a great sounding board and confidant.Larry
As a victim of balanced billing left with a substantial medical bill to contend with, I was lost as to what options outside of bankruptcy were available to me. Facing a financial catastrophe and coping with mounting stress, I turned to Kenneth Klein of Human Health Advocates for guidance. Today I can say with complete confidence that the decision to retain his services was the best decision I could have made. His industry knowledge, compassion for his client’s circumstances and dedication to reach an amicable resolution for his clients far exceeded my expectations. His commitment to my case undoubtedly was the reason why I was successful in securing reasonable settlement terms with the medical provider. I would utilize his services again and without hesitation would highly recommend him to anyone who may find themselves in a similar situation with respect to medical billing issues that appear insurmountable.
This place is synonym of the most efficient professionalism. Not only they worked diligently to solve my problem with great results, but also They did it with a caring attitude, and kept me engaged at all times.Nowadays where the nobody cares kind of tendency is sadly generalized, it was a blessing to find such exceptional people like Kenneth and Mary, to assist me.I couldnt ask for more, since they are the best.Dania Valdes. 2/9/18
Ken and Mary are great to work with as they are both friendly and knowledgable. They were able to make sense of a complicated situation and put it into perspective for me in a straightforward and honest manner. Thanks for taking the time to review my case!
A long-term health facility initially hit me with a $120k bill. Ken clearly explained the various issues and procedures so that I could understand an otherwise very complex situation.Upon Kens initial contact, the facility dropped the bill to $60k.Kens meticulous review revealed billing errors and other inconsistencies that I would never have understood or challenged.Ken kept me informed of the status along the way. Ultimately, we settled my bill for $6400. AND both parties were satisfied.
If you are thinking of using Human Health Advocates just go ahead and do it!We found Ken and Mary to be friendly, professional and most importantly know their field of expertise. They were able to save us a significant amount on an emergency hospital stay.
In October, 2014, I had emergency surgery at a hospital in South Florida. I was uninsured and could not to pay my $50,000 bill. I had many discussions with hospital billing-and no luck in working things out. After seeking help for a long time, I found Human Health Advocates online. I asked for assistance and Kenneth immediately replied. He understood the problem and turned out to be a professional with much knowledge and absolute commitment to help. Through dealings with the Hospital, he solved the problem of my dispute over excessive charges on bills in two weeks. He obtained a significant reduction in the amount of my final bill and worked out monthly installments that I can afford. I could not get this on my own in two years of trying. Everything was done online and on the phone. I am very pleased to have met somebody so professional and committed to help. I highly recommend Human Health Advocates to anyone having problems with hospital bills. All my thanks. Alvaro-Orlando Florida.
We all know that the medical industry can be crooks and leave the innocent people in the dark (shady things behind the scenes of billing). I have been a victim of being charged by an out of network doctor unwillingly multiple times. The first time I had surgery for a torn pectoral tendon and my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) gave the authorization and said that it was covered and would only be charged the copay. Months later I get a surprise in the mail...a bill for $800 because the surgeon used an out of network assistant which I had no say because I was under. As a result, I had to pay the $800. The next time, I went to a sleep study and asked beforehand if everything is covered and the receptionist on duty said yes. I explained to them my situation about being charged by an out of network doctor beyond my control. Over a year later, I get another surprise in the mail...a bill for $500!!! Turns out that the doctor who read the results was out of network and I would be responsible for payment. This was extremely frustrating because I asked before the sleep study if all services would be covered and on top of this I receive the bill over a year later. I submitted a Letter of Reconsideration with Blue Cross Blue Shield and was unsuccessful because I submitted the letter beyond the allotted timeframe of 6 months. (not my fault because I received the bill 15 months later!!!)Then came Mr. Klein...I am so fortunate to have met him one day while I was at work. He explained to me about his wonderful organization and what he does. I explained to him my first experience of being wronged by the medical industry. He was thorough in explaining to me how the system works and all the loopholes there are in the industry. You can tell he was passionate in what he does, kind of like a special craft. Many people face unfortunate circumstances such as high medical bills and do not clearly understand their rights as patients. I met Mr. Klein before I had my sleep study and meeting him happened to be a blessing in disguise. I consulted with Mr. Klein and he helped me lower my bill substantially! Ken and his assistant Mary were wonderful! They kept me up to speed throughout the process while negotiating with the biller. I highly recommend Human Health Advocates as they are experts and treat you like family as they truly care!
HUMAN HEALTH ADVOCATES ARE THE BEST!NAILING JELLY TO A WALL may be easier than getting Healthcare insurance companies to pay legitimate claims.DENIAL---DECEIT---DELAY were typical tactics employed by our insurance company.WE WERE RESCUED BY HUMAN HEALTH ADVOCATES saving us many thousands of $$---our credit---and our sanity!Ken Klein went above and beyond our highest expectations in successfully advocating on our behalf. We will be forever grateful.Ken is professional, knowledgeable, and passionate in his genuine desire to help his clients. We highly recommend Ken Klein to anyone who is experiencing difficulties dealing with Health insurance claims.Ross and Julie NealePompano Beach
I had major surgery just under a year ago. Bills were piling up and the amount I owed was going through the roof. Unfortunately, I was supposed to complete a lot of paperwork that was supposed to aid me in reducing the bills and collecting money that I was entitled to that would go towards paying the bills off. Due to the severity of my surgery I was out of commission for longer than expected and I was unable to complete the forms that would have helped me get that money. I reached out to Human Health Advocates and dealt directly with their amazing team, including Mr. Klein. Long story short, they helped me SUCCESSFULLY complete an appeal which got me thousands of dollars back. I am very fortunate to have Mr. Klein and his team on my side. I trust them completely and would highly recommend them to my family and friends in need of help!!
Kenneth S. Klein is my Hero.I was referred to Mr. Klein by a friend who knew that I was experiencing complications and confusion from a ENT Provider and my Insurance company. I was receiving inaccurate and excessive invoices from my Doctor and Statements from my Insurance Co. I had already paid a great deal of money for my procedure. Kens knowledge, diligence and savvy got my balance down to 0! Ken is Kind, Caring, Professional and He Surpassed my Expectations. I could never have achieved these results without him. Many Thanks and Appreciation Ken!
This is a class act - period. In this day and age, with so many marginal businesses out there, Human Health Advocates is a gem - a priceless asset for any patient. I decided to consult with them BEFORE a medical billing problem arose. Call it financial preventive medicine - before a major surgical procedure. Their billing-related guidance and input was absolutely invaluable. Mr. Klein and his Executive Assistant, Ms. Denaro, scheduled me for a brief consultation and I ended-up receiving an education. Outstanding! I now feel like an educated and prepared medical consumer and a heck of a lot more confident when dealing with the bill-crazed medical industry. I am already prepared to send them by medical invoices for their review once my surgery has concluded. No one - absolutely no one - should commit themselves to a non-emergent medical procedure - any procedure - without first consulting Human Health Advocates. And when the medical services bills come-in, run - dont walk - to Mr. Kleins practice and retain him to guide you through any billing headaches. Thank you Mr. Klein and Ms. Denaro for your courtesy. Bravo. Keep up the good work.- M
“Uninsured medical bills north of 100k prompted me to reach out for assistance.Whenever I have needed an expert, I have always sought an individual who possessed certain qualities-experience,intelligence and empathy. I wanted experience because knowing the players, the rules and the ins and outs is always useful. I wanted intelligence because no matter how much experience, unusual and complex situations may arise which require native smarts to discern and understand things. Finally, I wanted empathy because I handle stress and anxiety better when my expert companion deeply appreciates what I am experiencing. I am happy to report that Kenneth Klein, manager of Human Health Advocates, LLC, has all of these qualities in abundance. My relationship with him has been wholly positive. I recommend him unreservedly to help anyone navigate the healthcare labyrinth.
To whom it may concern,Kenneth Klein with Human Health Advoctes is resourceful, knowledgeable and effective and what he does. Combining expert knowledge, legal training, a willingness to review details, and most of all caring for those he advises, Kenneth and staff at Human Health Advocates identified and serve a real need. When the complexity of the medical system has increased to a degree that even physicians, their offices, billing departments, and hospitals often barely stay abreast, the insured person can often find themselves in need of counsel and advocacy. Kenneths initiative at Human Health Advocates in advising insured patients and their families could not be more timely - or needed! Kenneths counsel is nothing short of a blessing.Dean SperantsasSeptember 2018
Mr. Klein helped me deal with a highly frustrating situation with Florida Blue when they denied a claim they 100% should have paid. We reached a quick, equitable solution thanks to his expertise. Highly recommend
Human Health Advocates were a pleasure to deal with. As a result of an emergency room visit, the bills started coming fast and furious. Knowing insurance/heath care companies are notorious for over billing, I reached out to verify each bill before I paid it. It gave me peace of mind and their fee was extremely reasonable.
In brief, Kenneth Klein of HHA managed to have my $18,000 medical bills reduced by over 90 percent! My insurance company had erroneously denied several claims, and my attempts at resolving the issue proved frustrating and futile. I found both insurance and hospital billing departments to be quite unorganized and unresponsive. The hospital had also filed appeals on my behalf, but they were denied repeatedly. Even legal assistance was not fruitful. I knew something had to be done, but did not know what!Luckily at this time I ran across an article about HHA, met with Mr. Kenneth Klein, and finally my hope was restored! Ken expressed a genuine interest in my dilemma, and instantly understood the essence of my problem. He devised a series of strategies and went into action. Both tactful and tenacious, he contacted the key personnel, and used his experience and abilities to get them to rectify the situation. He is a master of diplomacy and resourcefulness, with unmatched communicative skills which allow him to obtain results. He managed to have the hospital’s unsuccessful appeals reversed, and my claims paid properly.I cannot express the relief I felt knowing that Ken was working on my side, with full dedication, and personal attention. He was very professional keeping me constantly updated, and advising me about any new developments in my case.
Human Health Advocates saved me from the crippling billings of the hospital that had saved me from a serious accident.Uninsured yet not qualified for low-income payment programs, I was billed extraordinarily high rates by the hospital. Even worse, the hospital had mis-recorded my address and sent my bills to someone else, so I never got a single bill until the hospitals collection attorney tracked me down and sent a threatening letter. Negotiating a fair settlement was out of the question because the bill was in collection. My attempts to reason with the hospital fell on deaf ears.Kenneth Klein, HHAs principal advocate, understood my situation and immediately put my mind at ease by confidently laying out a winning strategy. He jumped right into battle, keeping me fully apprised every step of the way. He was able to contact the right people at the hospital and persuade them to pull my account away from collection - saving my credit rating in the process - and reduce their bill by two-thirds. I could not have done this on my own.Im highly grateful to Ken for skillfully and diplomatically advocating on my behalf. The hospital may have saved me from medical disaster, but Ken saved me from financial disaster!
Everyone has read about or knows someone who has struggled to understand, implement, and get satisfaction from the process of filing and getting reimbursed by the insurance industry for medical claims due to illness or injury. But when it happens to you, you find out just how byzantine and opaque the medical claims filing process can be in the insurance world. Billings based on medical codes that the ordinary layperson can’t begin to understand leads to denial and delays in payment which in turn causes frustration, anger, anxiety and financial stress. Believe me, insurance companies and healthcare providers use these methods maximize their profits by denying and delaying claims payments (insurance companies) or improperly categorize the claims to maximize their profits (healthcare vendors). I experienced and witnessed all of those frustrations. It put us in the terrible position of having traumatic out of pocket expenses and jeopardizing our credit rating. There seemed to be no way out of this mess.Fortunately, I found a solution that reversed the drama of having to repeatedly and unsuccessfully deal with the healthcare vendors and insurance companies. That solution is Ken Klein and his assistant, Mary, at Human Health Advocates. His firm brings a unique blend of resources, expertise and an unwavering determination to identify the correct coverage and recovery solutions for your situation. I can attest that these attributes served us very well. When I called him about helping us rectify our medical morass, he reviewed our accounts, explained the claims paying process and paperwork needed, and quickly set up an implementation strategy. As he executed the strategy, he consistently communicated with me about his progress, any need for additional information in a manner that was understandable, and the responses he was getting from the medical vendors or insurance companies that had open claims. Ken and Mary’s analytical skills and level of perseverance are extraordinary. They parsed through each vendor’s claims payment code to make sure it properly reflected the medical event with the insurance company. They worked with the vendor to correct the claims payment code if it was incorrect. Finally, they mediated many of the payments to reduce them to levels that were reasonable from a financial perspective. After all is done, we have a great debt of gratitude to Human Healthcare Advocates for their assistance in helping us get through this mess. They held the healthcare vendors and insurance companies to their correct responsibilities and took an enormous pressure off of our shoulders. Call them now if you have a similar situation and feel like your life is quickly getting out of control. You won’t regret it.
In December 2015 I suffered a stroke and spent the next 31 days in hospital and rehab facilities. Needless to say, the bills mounted up and so did my stress levels. Fortunately, I met Ken Klein and after our first meeting I felt totally relieved. Ken took care of the billing questions I had and guided me through my health insurance companys small print. He took over, made the calls, asked the right questions and I was relieved. My meeting Ken Klein and Human Health Advocates was a godsend.
Mr. Klein of Human Health Advocates was an immense help in getting our medical bills reduced and in some cases eliminated. He not only did and outstanding job for us his professionalism and compassion in our very difficult situation was unparalleled.
