I am truly sorry you did not understand the lesson of a “pet rock” and feel your children can learn horsemanship from a YouTube video. Due to the fact your children only came two days of five. The “Pet Rock” requires no care, no time commitment and little to no financial investment. Teaching a child the time and care commitment that is required when owning an animal is priority in our program. This lesson is followed up during the week as camp progresses. We feel allowing a child to learn on a mounting dummy is far safer than a horse or pony. So when they step up to mount they are confident how to place the reins in their hand collect without pulling on the horse mouth and placing themselves in the saddle and not flopping down on the horses back.As you are aware we post daily photos of the activities including riding, grooming, tacking and care of the horse and equipment on Boca Summer Horse Camp Facebook page. (Your children are still on the page showing them riding)I wish you would have allowed your children to follow thru the week and found out how much they could have accomplished. Please read some of our reviews on our very active facebook page.Sarah HyersBoca Summer Horse Camp
Amazing camp and very friendly staff. The amount of information taught and the unique methods used provide a safe and fun experience. Have worked with horses and at horse camps my whole life, and this camp is one of the best ones.. Would highly recommend.
My children, 6 and 13, love the camp. They enjoyed all the different activities and also enjoyed not being bombarded with horses but also had games, art, and water Wednesdays was a personal favorite.
It is most enjoyable to see how the kids excel from the 1st day of camp till they demonstrate their skills at the end of the week. The pride of their accomplishments show as they learn various skills throughout the week.
Amazing experience and the staff are extraordinary. If you want a great time with reliable/caring individuals, this is the go to!
Love this place can’t wait for camp to start!
Beware, this place has very little ethics nor is an actual horseback riding camp. As a concerned parent Im advising other parents to go to other camps where children learn and actually DO ride horses. After 2 days of going to the camp, my little one didnt even get on a horse, and all they seemed to do is pain on pet rocks. They basically frame their activities and use children to clean the barns and learn things about horses that they could just watch on youtube. This is just a day camp located at a barn, staff is not friendly and they got upset when i was just trying to get a refund. I understand their policies but I paid for a HORSE camp not just some daycare so they dont seem to be ready to run a summer camp. This is not our first Boca camp, we have gone to many and we just wanted to try something different. Stay away.
Amazing staff, and great for hanging out with horses!
This is a great place to be, so much fun!
