Genesis Tax House has been out accountant for years now, not only doing our personal income taxes but our business accounting and income taxes as well. They have a great team!

My family has worked with Genesis tax house for a few years now. We love the service and attentiveness. We look forward to working with them each year as we know our taxes will be filed professionally.

I had a contract with Genesis Tax House to do the accounting, 1099s and tax returns of my business for the year of 2019. They waited until the last week of the extension period to send me all the documents for me to review. During the review, I found many transactions listed in the wrong categories, that they would have found out if they had reviewed themselves.When they sent me the tax returns for me to sign, I noticed a big mistake they made: In the beginning of the year, our business had 3 partners. Partner 1 had 41%, partner 2 had 41% and partner 3 had 18%. In July of 2019, partner 1 decided to move and sold 9% of his share of the business to partner 2 and 32% of his share to partner 3. From July until the end of the year, partner 2 and partner 3 had 50% each. When they provided me with the K1s, partner 2 (41% + 50%) and partner 3 (18% + 50%) was the same. I questioned them saying that 41 + 50 was more than 18 + 50 and I was told that there was no other way to fix it. Then I told them that I was going to ask for a second opinion.So, I hired a different accounting company 1 week before the extension deadline to redo my whole accounting and tax returns.(of course that the new company also charged me an arm and a leg because it was a rush job). When he finished, he also discovered that Genesis had doubled the amount of 1099 of each subcontractor I had for the year.I think that if they were a reputable company, the least they could do, was to offer to return the money I paid them, but instead, they decided to charge me a cancelation fee, saying that I broke the contract for the year of 2020. Stay away from this company.

I have been doing my income tax with Genesis since I moved to Florida 3 years ago and I have always been satisfied. They do everything online, very convenient! I definitely recommend their tax services.

Their service is terrible! They have been doing our taxes for the past couple of years only to find out this year that they were doing it wrong all along, so we have to pay someone else to fix it! They NEVER call you back when they say they will, or e-mail you as they promise. You have to call them several times to have someone finally help you with what you need. They have no concern for the customer! I would never recommend them to anyone. And just throwing it out there, two of the 5 stars reviews on here are from their own employees.

Unfortunately you cannot rate a company zero stars! This company was the worst. First of all, the people working on your account are not licensed accountants. They all work under one person’s license and not all employees have been fully trained. When it comes time to file taxes you must review their work very carefully. They do not review their work prior to asking you to sign; we had full statements missing from our balance sheet. If you bring them documentation in person, they make a copy of it and then a couple of months later they say that you never brought it in. When asked questions on regulations and why certain amounts are listed on your taxes, they simply don’t have an answer for you and have no idea how to look it up. One time I had a question on our taxes which they couldn’t answer and their computer had conveniently stopped working to look anything up. One time I had another question about depreciation and an “accountant” simply told me that it was how the system was set up and practically said that I wouldn’t understand because I do not work with quickbooks. They are unable to help you with any question and always gives contradicting answers, they are condescending and try to make you feel like you are the stupid one. Their customer service is awful and the people there are very defensive. Horrible company to work with, they do not value your opinion and treat your questions as if it is a burden on them. I Definitely do not recommend this company to anyone, and for those who are currently using them make sure to review everything very carefully, they are incapable of providing good quality service.

Unfortunately, this place has become ridiculous! Tax House has making my taxes for over 15 years, and this year they wanted to charge me 80% increasing on their fees. As a business owner tax season is always very stressful but Tax House makes it very quick and simple!

Their service contract only favors themselves and when you try to cancel they take 3 monthly payments straight from your bank account as a cancellation fee.
