I had scheduled an appointment to meet a potential dog to adopt but I had a family emergency come up and when i tried to reschedule they were extremely inconsiderate about it and lectured me about how I wasted the volunteers time and tried to make me feel bad for missing an appointment for a family problem then I was told I was not allowed to make another appointment. It was completely unprofessional and rude. I will be going to another rescue for now and any other future adoptions.

One of the best rescues I’ve seen. Connie goes above and beyond to help animals in need. She also has extensive vetting process to ensure dogs go to the best homes!

Trying to adopt and because our family has moved around and our dog that passed in September saw different vets, they denied our application. Guess they didnt want to out forth the effort of calling places to verify and just moved on. Will never attempt to adopt or mention this place to anyone. Very sad cheating a dog out of a loving home.

To say they are unreasonable is an understatement. I was not aware that dog rescuer elitism was a thing. We lost our dog last summer and were finally ready to love again. We walk our dogs at least 10 miles/week, they go to work with us, sleep in our bed, go on every family vacation all over the country, and are a true part of the family. They decided that the dog would not have enough activity and that was the end of the conversation. Of course I expect them to do what is best for the dogs but this is ridiculous.What a shame.

They set unrealistic standards for adoption when there are pets there wanted to be adopted by a loving person. The distance a person lives from the adoption center should have nothing to do with a decision in someone wanting to adopt especially when they are more than willing to drive the distance.

We adopted an absolutely wonderful rescue puppy. 2nd Hand Paws was responsive, super professional, and they care about the dogs they rescue. Thank you again!

Very sad their requirements prevent them from finding many dogs good homes. Requirements are excessive.
