Bluestone took down a huge oak and an additional Elm in under three hours! (Including stump removal and cleanup.) The crew was very fast and efficient, their equipment powerful.The placement of the oak required they work around the propane tank, retaining wall, garage, powerlines directly under the tree, asphalt drive, shed, and septic system. The elm was in the backyard leaning toward the house. We had three estimates and Bluestone’s estimate was the middle one. It was expensive, but reasonable considering the size of the tree and the difficulty in the removal.

These folks are passionate about trees and locally sourced whole tree mulch. I have purchased over 50 yd of mulch from these folks and it is by far the best I have ever gotten. Their prices are so much better than buying from other places where you dont know whats in the mulch.

Bluestone is excellent! They are quick to come out when called and honest in their evaluation of the tree situation. When they come to take care of business, they do so with the upmost professionalism. What might take a couple of days for some, they can get done in less than a day. They are friendly and leave things clean and tidy when they go. This year they took down these three monsters that were causing foundation issues.

Extremely professional, courteous, and affordable service. Highly recommended.But heres the kicker. A few days after they removed a tree from my back yard, a wind storm broke off a huge branch from a neighbors tree, landing on my property. Bluestone was in the neighborhood on another job a few days later, and offered to pick up the fallen branch for free. Branch was picked up, yard was raked & cleaned with leaf blowers (even though they were on a separate job). Thanks guys - you win!

I hired Bluestone to remove a tree that had fallen on my power lines, and then to trim another tree, remove a few poor scrubby trees, and get rid of a bunch of bamboo. In the first case they responded immediately, were out the same day, and removed the tree with an awesome crane! In the second case, they were also responsive, kept me informed of when they were coming, arrived on the day they said they would, and did another excellent job. The crews are friendly, attentive, and went beyond the scope (spraying the bamboo area with herbicide, helping me with a newly-planted dogwood tree that was struggling a bit). You can approve bids and pay invoices completely online. Compared to other tree services in town who will not answer their phone, will say they are coming and then dont, Bluestone is far and away the best in terms of both the service they provide and their customer service. I will only use them from here on out and I recommend that you dont even bother calling anyone else.

The removal was done quickly and thoroughly and they did such a great job of cleaning up after themselves that my yard was cleaner than when they arrived. Highly recommend.

Bluestone Tree removed a huge white pine tree from my yard that was threatening my garage causing me great concern. I called Bluestone, and they set up a quick appointment to review the situation (an arborist called to let me know he was one his way and arrived right on time).They gave me a fair bid and returned once the seemingly-relentless rain abated and the ground dried. We had a huge tree… not even sure how tall… 50 feet? 100 feet? Hard to tell but it was tall and thick. They showed up with two large trucks/cranes at 12:00pm, got to work right away, and were done by 3:00. It was impressive how fast and efficient they were. They cleaned up and left as if nothing ever happened other than taking down a giant tree. Setting up the initial consultation and signing an agreement was super easy and seamless… all done by email and through chat on their website. 10/10 would recommend.

Bluestone Tree was very professional and easy to work with. We had several trees that we were concerned about including some Ash trees on the property. Bluestone has arborists on staff and they were able to give us helpful information about each tree when they came out to put together a quote for us, which helped us make a decision about which trees needed removed. The majority were invasive pear trees (about 7). We also had a large tree removed that was too close to our septic tank. All of the trees removed were removed safely and with care and Bluestone Tree cleaned up as though they and the trees had never been there. They even went the extra mile and picked up two piles of branches we had set aside from cutting down invasive honeysuckle.

The nightmare pine trees are gone!! Previous owner planted what he thought were small pine trees right next to property line inbetween my house and neighbors. Having had numerous experiences with tree cutting services, I was amazed by the quality and professionalism of Bluestone Tree. At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, these folks provided exactly what one would desire from a service business. Workers were professional, pleasant, efficient, and left the property in better condition than they found it. The work was completed sooner than initially estimated. While on the job, the crew worked as a team and seemed to genuinely enjoy their arduous work. Part of the work around utility wires required dropping branches on a neighbors property. The crew removed each piece as it hit the ground and immediately transported the debris. When finished, there was little trace of their having been on my neighbors property. Prior to doing the work, the estimator advised that this procedure would be needed and to make arrangements with the neighbor, which I did. In all, Bluestone Tree exceeded my expectations (despite their excellent online reputation), and the services were well worth the cost.

Fantastic. I called with a weird request: trim back my dying silver maple so it can stay as a woodpecker tree, and stop being being a scary nuisance in windstorms. They did a great job. Kept themselves safe, tidied as they went,used a super-cool lift when needed. (Super-cool lift fit through my backyard gate before the deployment of its lunar-lander legs. I want one.) The end result was a well proportioned woodpecker tree, a cleaned-up yard. Morning after report: 1 redheaded woidecker, 1 chickadee, 4 flickers. Success!

Amazing crew with incredible equipment. Took a large locust from a problematic spot in our back yard without having to drop the power line it was hanging over, or having to even leave the driveway. Bluestone was cutting down trees at my neighbors house today on E Moore’s Pike for the city. Their crew trampled my flowers, sat on my rock landscaping wall and spilled ketchup everywhere, and the clean up of the branches was sup par. I understand if the landscaping is under the tree they are cutting down it’s hard to work around, but this was a whole house down and was completely unnecessary to tear up my flower beds like they did. I guess I just got unlucky that that is where they parked their trucks. If this is the level of care and effort their crews gives, I would strongly recommend staying away from this company.Since posting above I called Bluestone per their response. The owner came back out and recleaned the area to my satisfaction. It seems this company does really care about ensuring all parties are happy before calling a job complete.

Bluestone dont just cut trees and clear up well afterwards (although of course they do both of those things magnificently). They respect the trees and landscape, and are able to empathize with people like me who find the business of having to have a tree cut very upsetting. Someone was out to give an estimate within 2 days and work was performed exactly when they said it would be. I had a very large dead tree close to my house that needed to come down. The crew was efficient and everyone seemed to know exactly what they needed to be doing. When they were finished, you would have never been able to guess huge machinery and a team of people had been in my yard. I felt the price was fair for the work performed.

Safest tree service I have ever seen in action.

Estimate included the trimming of a large maple that was later deemed rotting. So, trimming of said maple was not done. However, the invoice did not change. When we asked for an explanation, we were told that their reputation should speak for their work. Also, the other two large trees that were trimmed still have large, dead branches. The work was clean and our yard was left in good condition. But overall, we were disappointed.

I say this because my long review sounds gushy.Long review: Jerad was incredibly patient with us when we were trying to set-up the removal of this 80-90 foot silver maple that overhung our house. If you dont know your trees, the silver maple is one of the crappiest. 70 years ago the developer of our neighborhood decided that he would plant them on every plot... They have a shallow root base, grow fast and wide and shed huge branches easily. I removed a couple of threatening branches myself, but I wasnt going to touch the massive one or the one overhanging the power lines. I got quotes from 4-6 contractors and they were all in the same ballpark, but Jerad/Bluestone had the least amount of scheduled work time. They also had the best equipment (tree mek-saw). I didnt worry at all about the branch falling on my house. Anyways, we had some hiccups in the process because we had to pivot to another home project first due to time deadlines and this caused some issues with financing. We kept getting ready to pull the trigger, but could never afford to. Jerad patiently worked with us and conformed to our schedule. No other company followed-up with me through the process. The day of the job, my family were all sick and I wasnt feeling it. I had forgotten that they were coming even though Bluestone sent me a reminder, and was just not ready to do anything. The Bluestone guys took care of everything (and our yard was a wreck). I didnt have to do anything. And unlike the other contractors (not tree guys) that I have worked with over the past 5 months not one of the Bluestone guys asked me to use my bathroom. Believe me when I say thats a huge plus after the last guy to use my bathroom... It almost killed my kid. I didnt want to use my bathroom after that. When Bluestone showed up, I also changed the plan up on them and asked them to do additional work that we hadnt even discussed. Jerad didnt even blink. Said he would get it done. I thought the job may take the whole day even with the mek-saw because of the additional work. Nope. These guys banged it out in 5 hours and that included clean-up. They even hauled off my unraked leaves. Something the city said they would do and never did. My yard looks better now then it did before and it was a rainy, muddy day.I cant say it any more clearly: This is the most professional outfit that I have worked with in terms of tree removal (also worked with Townsend here, independents up north, and dropped trees myself for money) and probably in general as far as contractors go.Again: Accommodating, patient and professional.
