Best dental experience I have ever had! I have a lot of dental anxiety due to painful past experiences but the extra measures they take to ensure comfort really helped (including aromatherapy and eye pillow). Diane was also so pleasant and supportive of my choice to be fluoride free, and explained things really well. Highly recommend!

***PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS GOING HERE IF YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC DENTAL ISSUE YOU WANT TO GET CHECKED OUT!!!***First, it’s worth noting that I have zero interest in leaving less than glowing reviews unless I believe it is 100% necessary and can save SOMEONE trouble down the road. I would hope someone would share this with me, so hopefully this will be helpful to you.*Here is the shortened version:After a brief, scattered examination I was told I needed substantial dental work including (likely) two deep cleanings WITH anesthesia and a crown for a “cracked tooth”. Second opinion (after a thorough examination with two separate people looking at my teeth) identified no cracked tooth, and also could not find a reason for me to have *ANY* deep cleaning.*Longer version:As someone new to the area, I was recommended this dental spa to have a tooth checked out. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and had a pleasant experience with the staff and the general environment. They very strictly follow COVID safety precautions, which I appreciated.The dentist and hygienist were kind, but the examination was scattered and short. I was shown pictures of the tooth I was concerned about (no x-rays at this point) and saw a line. I am not a dental professional, so I immediately figured this was the issue, and not a normal craze line on my tooth, which I was later informed by a second opinion. The dentist said that we needed to put a crown on the tooth ($400 for a temporary - I was not quoted for a permanent crown) and that I would need maybe two deep cleanings plus anesthetics based on the state of my teeth (I complained of slightly swollen gums in a small portion of my mouth). I put forth effort to maintain my teeth, so this surprised me considerably.We never reviewed the x-rays though they took a full panel, and I was told that we would just have to get in there to see if there was a deeper crack / if it ran to my roots - if it did, Id need a root canal.The dentist went into her office and I was told I’d be scheduled for these procedures by the hygienist. I had questions about getting a crown - which I’ve never had before - and asked for more information or a brochure. They were out of brochures, and so instead I was offered a brief explanation of what would happen at the next appointment. I was scheduled for a week from the day of the initial visit to have the crown, but my gut told me to get a second opinion, particularly because I did not feel as though I received enough information for these somewhat major dental procedures, and because my intermittent discomfort did not match the diagnosis.My second opinion included two people examining my teeth THOROUGHLY as well as x-rays, which were discussed with me directly and clearly. I did not offer any perspective regarding the prior dental visit with the dental spa because I wanted an honest opinion without any directing them (I had spoken VERY candidly at the dental spa). After repeatedly asking for clarification (i.e., me asking if my bottom teeth looked ok, and later pointing out the line I saw on my back tooth), they indicated that:1.) there was no need for a crown or ANY work (i.e., no cavities) and2.) a regular dental cleaning was more than sufficient to manage any minor gum issues I was having.It would have cost me several hundreds - if not thousands - of dollars had I not cancelled with the downtown dental spa and sought a second opinion. I will not be returning to this dentist.

I had been putting off going to the dentist for years before finding Downtown Dental Spa. Now I look forward to going in for my cleanings! They have created a space and a menu of different service options that truly make it feel like a spa - so I feel like Im pampering my whole self (and not just my teeth) when I go to the Dentist.

I love Downtown Dental Spa. Ive been going here for years (5 or more?). They always treat me with friendliness and patience. Appointments are on time and dont take too long. I love the calming vibe. The spa experiences make a difference -- eye pillow, warmed towel with aromatherapy, blanket, calming music, and yes a massage chair in a private room with the lights dimmed. Dr Heckley and her staff are always so attentive. I tell all my friends to go here.

If you are looking for a place for cleaning or an emergency, they are definitely the place to go. But don’t count on them really taking care of your teeth and what is best for you. They almost made me remove on teeth of mine that is completely healthy. When I tell this story to others dentists they dont believe someone would do that with that specific teeth. They also took long time to send me documents and history of my dental care.Basically, when they are making money with you, they will be great. Anything out of that, dont count on them.

I have been going to this office for probably over 10 years. Growing up, I had some terrible experiences with dentists - mainly because my parents did not emphasize proper mental hygiene. Dr. Heckley and her staff not only provide a relaxed and welcoming experience, but are also extremely knowledgeable, competent, and personable. I have compete confidence in Dr. Heckleys competence and even opted to have her fix my crowding via Invisalign - something I have been wanting to do since I was a child. I can only recommend this office.

As an anxious person, I am always well taken care of at Downtown Dental Spa. Everyone is kind and calm, and they offer a nice assortment of amenities, like heated towels, hand massages, and aromatherapy.

Fantastic atmosphere and the NICEST staff. I felt very taken care of and really appreciated the time that the dentist took to explain to me their procedures. Very much recommend to all types of patients.

Ive been seeing Dr. Heckley for over 10 years. She and her staff have always been available to me even for emergencies. I have always had terrible anxiety going to the dentist, and have health issues that made me dread going to get cleanings. I could not have asked for a better experience, or a more kind staff. They are thoughtful and professional, and set me at ease. They offer a range of free services from a massage chair to aromatherapy, and go out of their way to make the experience as nice as possible. I would recommend this practice to anyone, anxiety or not.

I would reccomend this place over any! I had a pleasant and relaxing experience. They made me feel welcome and hopeful. And thats the best part. Im looking forward to the future appointments I have set.

I stopped in just to see if I could get my crown re-cemented into place—it had fallen off. It was a long shot to try that on a walk-in basis late on a Friday. But guess what. Dr. Narey was able to fit it in, at the end of the work day. Bless her for making my weekend dental-problem-free.

Such a calming experience and the staff is so reassuring and helpful. They dont use the plastic bibs, but put your choice of oils on a warm towel. They provide blankets and make you feel so relaxed. Would definitely recommend!

Ive been going to the Downtown Dental Spa for just over a year. Their scheduling is friendly and easy, the ammenities are a great experience, and the staff are very courteous. Dr. Heckley always has a smile and has trained her team to be thorough and efficient. If you dont like going to the dentist, this is the place for you!

Nice folks, relaxing atmosphere. Dental work isnt exactly fun but they make it the best that it can possibly be. Wouldnt go anywhere else.

I never feel compelled to write reviews in general, but my experience here was so positive that it would be a shame not to share it and encourage others to make an appointment if theyre on the fence. Part of an old filling fell out on a Monday night and Tuesday morning, after reading good reviews, I went in to see Dr. Heckley with no appointment. The receptionist (and dental hygienist) checked me in, and Dr. Heckley even came over to help confirm my insurance details. She fit me in to the schedule and repaired the filling with clear expertise, telling me at each step what she was doing and why. We also set up a cleaning for the following day (which turned out to be one of the most thorough cleanings I have ever had). Beyond the spa amenities which were a lovely touch, what impressed me most was the absolute TRANSPARENCY of the entire process. I was told what would happen, what the cost was, what my insurance would pay, and what I would have to cover, BEFORE anyone touched my teeth. This office is a gem.

An amazing dentist experience. I’m not a current patient, but I needed to fix my permanent retainer, so I called in the morning and they were able to fit me in later in the afternoon of the same day. I get really nervous and anxious about going to the dentist, but the staff made sure I was relaxed and comfortable. There are blankets, eye masks, warm pillows and essential oils to calm you down. The hygienist and Dr. Heckley were both extremely warm and friendly. I had such a good experience here that I think I’ll become a regular patient.

I am normally incredibly anxious during dentist visits, but here I felt completely peaceful and pain free. I didnt want to leave the dentist office for the first time in my life. I would recommend this place to everyone I know.

Ive been going to Dr. Heckley for at least 10 years and absolutely love this office. Theyve always been great at taken care of any questions I have, make and rescheduling appointments. Dr. Heckley has always been so kind and very informative as shes working. The downtown office is such a great experience and extremely relaxing. Definitely helps with the anxiety of dental appointments.
