MarDon Salon is a fantastic salon. I have been getting blowouts twice a week since high-school because my hair is so curly. I have been going to this salon since I came to IU for college, and each time I walk through the doors they treat me so special. Not only do I get blowouts there but I also get Keretains, Toners, Waxs, and Eyelash extensions. All of the stylists have done my hair and they are all AMAZING! The stylists and estheticians at Mardon are so kind, skilled, and if I could give this salon more than 5 stars I would. I totally recommend!!

When I walked in they treat me like a princess they knew I was on a budget and they worked with me and Becca is amazing I cant be any happier and the people there are amazing as well its so worth going 💖

Everyone who works here is super sweet and make it a great environment. Had my hair done here when it was at its worst, color-wise, and ended up being really happy with the results. I recommend Chelsea for color @chelseahairstylist 👍👍

Taylor is very competent in coloring hair for a natural look. Shes kind and has great communication skills and was willing to add additional highlights to my hair after we were finished on my first visit with her, to bump my color closer to what I was wanting. She didnt charge me for the additional highlights because I called her within 2 days realizing my color change was a bit too drastic and my husband didnt care for it. I went back to Nicole because it was no fault of her own and she clearly knows how to color hair. I strongly recommend MarDon for the simple fact that the stylists are willing to work with you to get your color correct and to make sure youre satisfied and happy with the end product. Im looking forward for the maintenance of my new hair color with Taylor now that weve gotten the formula figured out for my new color. Best part, my husband loves my new color too!! Thank you again!

This was my first visit to Mardon. Rebecca listened to what I wanted, looked at photos I brought, & came up with a plan. My color/cut look fabulous. Prices are expensive, but worth it when you leave happy.

Chelsie did a wonderful job on fixing up my hair. She was great at making me feel comfortable and gave me a glow up. Autumn was very nice and had some good recommendations for my face treatments. I recommend Mardon HIGHLY.

Valerie did an amazing job with my cut and highlights. She cared about making me happy & gave me exactly what I wanted. The salon uses quality products, which I can tell because my hair is healthy despite having my hair bleached. Well worth the money & I cant recommend Valerie enough!

I need to update my review of Mardon (Sadly). I have recently stopped going here for several reasons. After my stylist was abruptly removed from the staff, a whole slew of issues began happening. I switched to a different stylist (She is great, BTW). Unfortunately, they cant seem to keep appointments on the books. I showed up one day and was told my appointment wasnt there. My haircut is every 2 weeks and I put it in my schedule immediately, so I know it was made, their system lost it. I thought maybe it was a fluke, but now my spouse has had their system lose 4 appointments. When you have a busy professional life and you carve a certain amount time out for appointments, showing up and being told that your dont have an appointment...thats unacceptable. I have permanently left Mardon and my spouse is seriously considering it too.Not a single bad thing to say. Been a client for over a year now. Every single stylist is really nice and outgoing. Mine is obviously the best though. I dont share, so you cant request her...sorry.

The employees at Mardon are wonderful! I have gotten my hair cut and dyed and my eyebrows waxed several times, and Im always pleased. Parking stinks, but thats downtown Bloomington for you.

Jessica is one of the best colorists I have met! She definitely understood what I wanted with my color, and followed through with what we talked about before starting. As someone who likes to go VERY blonde, this had been hard to find in the past. Beyond that, she offered great conversation and friendship throughout my appointment. I am so sad Im graduating, I want to keep her forever!!

My mom and I went in for the classic eyelash extensions & my mom got her hair coloured by Rebecca. Our eyelashes were done by a wonderful man named Kitch. Kitch did an absolutely amazing job on both of our eyelashes for an affordable price. If this review was based on Kitch alone, hands down it would be a five star review.However, Rebecca is the reason I, unfortunately, have to give the salon 3 stars. My mother is on oxygen and asked me to help her over to Rebecca’s station and to show her images of what she wanted. I frequently do my hair, my moms and my friends. I showered Rebecca a picture and told her that I was going to do it at home had she not had it done here and told her what I was going to do with it. In a very monotone, rude tone she said “well that wouldn’t have turned out well at all so I’m glad you didn’t.” Keep in mind, Rebecca has no idea whether or not I have hair experience or my license... then to make it ever more awkward, when my mom and I were discussing (as quickly as we could because we understand everyone’s time is valuable) she interrupted my mother mid sentence and said “okay, so should I start mixing?” once again, in a rude manner. When we asked the price, Rebecca said anywhere from $140 and up. I told her that on the phone we were quoted between $75-95 and she said “well that is why we do not quote clients over the phone.” Once again, it’s all about her harsh and rude tone and inability to at least smile. I don’t feel it’s appropriate to treat clients that are spending $400 for their services this way.Well, my moms hair turned out alright... It wasn’t anything like the picture and it wasn’t anything compared to the balayages, highlight/lowlights and overall colours that I’ve given her in the past. My mom and I both noticed her hair looked no where near as beautiful as the times I’ve done it from my at home salon.. she was disappointed that $100was spent on her colour for it to look like she slapped on a box colour. You could see the sadness on my moms face after Rebecca which was a huge difference from the excitement and happiness when she was finished getting her eyelashes done before her hair colour.So, overall, Kitch’s eyebrow and eyelash services are worth every penny. However, I suggest a different salon or any other person to do colour if you choose Mardon.Thank you Mardon Salon and especially Kitch!Also a tip, you can’t tip with your card. You have to tip with cash or a check. I didn’t know that so we didn’t bring cash. I told them that I would go fo the bank and bring it by tomorrow. I added a pic of my moms hair and my eyelashes.

I got my hair colored here, the staff is great! But the color didnt suit me at all. It faded away in 15 days, and when I came back for a retouch that took 6 washes to fade away again. I had heard great stuff about the place but If you have dark hair I be very cautious cause theyre not cheap!!

I am writing this in the hopes of saving other brides, from the disaster that my daughter went through at the hands of this very unprofessional salon.My daughter arranged to have a hair trial at least three weeks before her wedding that was at the end of July and had chose Mardon because she was informed that they had, what they calledWedding Gypsies that would travel up to 75 miles for an event.She did a trial of her hair paid $90 for just the trial (total overpriced) a hairstyle that literally consisted of long curls in her long hair.We paid hoping to get excellent service, which she was assured.We returned the next week after work to put the down payment of $200.00 for her hair and her wedding party. We asked if everything was fine and was there anything else we needed to know or do they said no all was good and gladly took our deposit.The very next morning she received a call from the salon stating that not only could they not travel to her hotel room that was less than two blocks away from the salon so she did not have to go out in her wedding gown, but that they were sorry her hairstylist that she had her trial with would not be available. This mind you was now two weeks before her wedding day!They informed her they could give her a new stylist and basically it was her luck whether her hair turned out the way she wanted it! They also told us they were sorry but could not refund the money. We told them that the only way we would except a new stylist was if they gave her a new trial at no cost to us and if that was not possible we demanded a refund! Very much to our surprise they did not offer her a new trial but agreed for the refund.Brides,please beware of their false promises if you do not want to be left struggling to find someone new last minute before your wedding! They are the most unprofessional group of people and VERY OVERPRICED for the quality of work and services provided, save your money!On the bright side we took her to Shanis salon in Indianapolis that did an amazing job and she looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day no thanks to MARDON!If I had a choice of no stars that would have been my choice.

I used to get my hair cut here and always had a good experience. I recommend Chelsea, she knows what shes doing and will always pay attention to what you ask for.

I just got my hair trimmed there. I hadnt gotten a haircut in almost eight months and it really needed to be cut. Breanna was great and she listened to everything I wanted. I even got a complimentary deep conditioning treatment, and when she got to cutting my hair she only cut off what was necessary to make my hair healthy again. I would definitely recommend this salon!

Chelsea is amazing at what she does. I am a natural brunette who has gone very blonde, and Chelsea made me look like I was born a blonde. She is very knowledgeable about everything hair and it shows. If you are looking for The perfect hair, especially color, go to Chelsea, you wont be disappointed !

Ive never left a review before but this haircut changed my mind. I asked for a simple TRIM and slight face framing and I ended up getting a trim and this is what I ended up with it. I told her I was unhappy with the results and she tried to fix it and only made it worse. I told her it looked fine just so I could get away from her with scissors.

Good hair cut but pretty costly

I have been going here since moving to Bloomington, and it is wonderful. I was so happy to find an Aveda Salon here. Monica is, without a doubt, the best massage ever, not to mention she is just wonderfully sweet! Courtney has been doing a great job cutting my hair, but she also just did an amazing up do for me that earned me compliments all night.

This was the first salon I went to since moving to Bloomington in October 2013. Its a great place to go to. The staff is great and love the decor and ambience. Courtney is my hair stylist and shes just amazing! She always does a great job and couldnt be more happier with my experience at MarDon!

I really enjoyed my experience. They were professional and friendly, and really worked with me. This was my first haircut in town, and would definitely consider a repeat.

This place is no where near as good as it used to be in my modest option. All of their best stylists have been driven away or have left, and recently it seems that theres been such a high turn over rate you never quite know what youre going to get when you go in, or call you get that person is no longer with us. Ive only been happy with two of their people (which are now gone, one having been there for ages) everyone else I got just seemed incompetent and didnt quite understand what I wanted. Ive had my hair cut crooked and a couple times before and didnt notice until I got home and washed the product out of my hair and saw it lay flat, I called and said I wanted it fixed. Told me that was up to the stylish but I could be charged a touch up fee or charged full price if I used someone else since that stylist wasnt there at the time. That was really the last straw when I had to go elsewhere to get fixed up. Though Im not the only one thats had these experiences. It just seems to me that they dont care as much as they should for their clients, and the last visits Ive had with my non regular all felt rushed and and apathetically done. I now go to Bent. The feel of the place also seems to have changed from the classy to a high school girl/sorority house feel where everyone speaks with lisps and shadow vowels, and all that matters is the superficial. So if ditzy and dense with a hit and lick it, promise to better next time attitude is what you seek then this may be the place for you.

The wax deserves no stars. She popped a blood vessel, still left so much hair to the effect of me actually having to shave. Didnt get it. Horrible. The hair was exactly what I wanted, I loved it. She matched what I said exactly. Soooooo expensive though.

Great place and friendly staff! I just got engaged but once I figure out my date Ill be using Wedding Gypsies!!!! I cant say enough of how much I love going to MarDon Salon:)

I have been going here for sometime, Taylor never disapoints. Love it here.

I have been a customer at the salon for awhile & I made an appointment back in December and had to reschedule. I called on a Thursday before my appt on the following Wednesday and spoke with someone at the desk. I had to cancel the appt due to a family medical emergency and I told them I would reschedule as soon as I knew when I could for sure come back in because I didnt want to have to reschedule again. The front desk said they would cancel my appt and looked forward to hearing from me soon and hoped all would be ok. I get a call on the following Thursday to tell me they had charged my debit card $57.76 for my no show! I called and spoke with Jacqueline and she informed me since I missed my appt and did not call in that I would be charged...I informed her I did call and gave her the date and even had a witness that heard me cancel my appt...she said she would ask the staff and call me back. She then calls me and says no one remembers my calling in...BIG SURPRISE there...she tells me I could use it as credit on my next appt...well with service like that & pretty much being called a liar why would I even be back?? I told her that it is possible for their staff to make a mistake and to assume that I was mistaken or a liar was totally uncalled for and horrible business! I told her if THEIR mistake would be worth losing a regular customer then so be it! She then says she will talk to the owner & call me back first thing on Friday...NEVER received a call back from he salon!! I literally was getting my hair done every 6 to 8 weeks (color)...was spending anywhere from $110-$130 each time and just because one of their employees dropped the ball and did not want to admit it then they are willing to lose a customer!! I will be letting others know not to patronize a place with such horrible customer service and ridiculous policies! Not to mention they kept my credit card number without my consent!! I will be filing a debit dispute with my bank...I gave them a week to get back with me and they did not have the curtesy to do so!! I really wish I could have gave a BIG ZERO!!!

I have had waxes in the past in my hometown, but I needed a place in Bloomington for when Im at school. I came in for a French bikini wax, which is just a regular bikini wax at this salon. Adison, who was rude from the second I walked in, took no time in making sure she did her job correctly. She did the wax in 7 minutes and left me on the table with extremely irritated pores and patchy areas. I came home to a rash and bleeding. I was also charged $5 extra for asking her to take some off the top. Extremely disappointed in the price for the HORRIBLE service I received.

The store is kinda sketchy to be a proper salon and service is really bad. Staffs are quite unprofessional when it comes to waxing and massage. I had bruises from their waxing. Staffs are not friendly and always make you wait for like 5-10 minutes when you arrive.

Oh boy! Definitely the WORST and most pricy place in town! Terrible service and the owner looks like she hates everyone that goes to the salon! I used to go there all the time for hair cut, only because the one stylist in town that I can trust was there, now shes gone to other salons, I difinitely wont go there any more. They lost a lot of talents, Bridgett, Tamoko, Sarah, Carla..., FYI, they are all working in DO salon now! So now I go to DO salon to do my hair, and it was heavenly! Everyone, goes to DO salon and, please AVOID Aveda!
