Resident for 7 years …. New owners cool, and it seems theyve stopped collecting garbage . This is a every week thing . It’s disgusting and when i open my window garbage smell comes through window. When i open my window which is to the left of these photos, i see nothing but garbage. …. Also, as you can see the garbage container is CLOSED, where should i put garbage ?
I originally signed a one year lease and have now lived here for 6 years, I have had no issues and no complaints besides maybe the parking at times. This area of Bloomfield is the perfect blend of a city and suburb, the rent is fair, and the complex is consistently being upgraded after it was taken over my new ownership in the last year or two. The people in the management office are pleasant, especially Robyn and Adina who have gone above and beyond to be understanding and helpful throughout an entire pandemic. Would recommend.
My experience with Forest Hills Apartment was fantastic. Margie helped me find my apartment and she was very professional. She made the process go smoothly and most importantly she helped me find the apartment that was right for me. I would definitely recommend Forest Hills Apartments!
Just finished signing up for the new apartment. Everything went over super fast and easy, Margie, Lisa, Robyn were very helpful so if you go to them they will get you taken care of. I am a person that’s really big on first impressions and they did not disappoint. 10/10
The parking here is HORRENDOUS. They lie about any availability on reserved parking or garages on a so waiting list. When the majority of reserved parking spots arent even being used most of the time which makes no sense to me. Its unfair its given to people who do not even need one and not given to the ones that do, who would actually use them everyday. You get ticketed for parking in the only places available to park period from the lack of it. Old building and pipes. The walls and ceilings are SUPER thin, everything is heard. Its been quite an unpleasant experience living here. Only good thing I would say would be how good the renovated apartments look.
I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The property is very well kept, and the apartments are fully renovated with modern features. I had to break my lease due to unforeseen circumstances, and the management team was more than accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend renting at this property.Johannes
The new management that recently took over is great! They have really started to bring up this property! Maintenance has really stepped up and are getting things done. I just switched to one of their newly renovated apartments (check out my move-in Pic, lol) and it is night and day compared to what we had. Everything is modern and clean - my girlfriend loves it. The office staff were super helpful during the move. Lisa and Margie really went out of their way to make sure the switch would fit with my schedule and budget. Really looking forward to the upcoming projects that they have planned on the property!
The leasing office is terrible. Make sure you go in person because then you’ll see they don’t show you ANYTHING that’s on the website. They had only 2 apartments to show and 1 had bugs and wholes in the closet. The second one wasn’t even ready to show. People cleaning and painting with a bunch of things on the floor. Only reason for a 2 star instead of a 1 is because the apartment for 1,900 was ok. But then again, they show you models and not what you’ll be actually living in. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
New owners took over about two years ago and they have been proactive about updates, landscaping, and common area maintenance which is great. Management is good and maintenance issues are addressed quickly. With this style of garden units, the walls are paper thin so a lot of your satisfaction/dissatisfaction will depend on how considerate/obnoxious your neighbors are (worse with pet owners who cant discipline their barking dogs properly). Street congestion is a big issue from lack of adequate parking to multiple instances of drivers stopping/standing oftentimes in the middle of the road. Also, theres no control over the heat which is frustrating when the outside temp is 60+ and the heat is cranked way up causing you to sweat but when the outside temp is below 20 the heat isnt as robust.Overall, an ok place to live and the location cant be beat. Positive management and maintenance offset the negatives.
I just moved to the east coast less then a week ago. Had many viewings for apartments in my short time, but the minute I went to Forest Hills Apartments....love. My first interaction was with Margie (big shout out to this amazing woman), greeted me with so much warmth and energy. Walked me through the grounds, showed me everything I wanted to see, answered all my questions outright and honestly; she’s truly made this daunting task really simple and great. Customer service goes a long way in this day and age, and I must say you’re getting nothing but the best from Forest Hills. Apartments are spacious and nicely renovated, spoke to a few tenants who have confirmed that this is a great community to live in. Proud to say I will be moving in very shortly. Thanks again Margie for being a genuinely sweet person, you’ve put me at ease with all your great energy.
Great experience with Lisa! She was very helpful and answered all my questions before I could ask at lease signing. She was very honest and informative. I would highly recommend this community! Parking is available! Apartments are in great condition and plenty of space.
The roaches here are big enough to pay rent
The new management is amazing. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and helpful. Lisa has has been amazing in helping get my parking situated. The grounds and apartments are very well maintained now. The best thing to happen to this property was new management and staff!!
Staff was very rude and zero effort to help me on my search for an apartment I just called and spoke to staff and wanted to apply for a townhouse and wanted to see the premises and person on the phone was rude just saying if i wanted more info to look for pics on the website, even though if you don’t have anything available you guys could be more polite and try to help your future costumers I’m not looking for a favor and yes for an apartment which I’ll be paying for it .
No parking available after we were specifically told there are garages available for $85 per month, and you can go on a waiting list for an assigned parking space. At lease signing all of a sudden we were told there is a waiting list for garages, material information was misrepresented. Do not take a word these people say serious, they lie like it’s their job. When you complain to upper management there is absolutely zero accountability. Staff is highly unprofessional, deceitful, unorganized, and extremely rude.
Many people might not know that Forest Hill property is under new ownership. I have lived hear since 1970, and I must say the new owners are awesome. First let me tell you about the old owners and the people who worked in rental office, any time you had to deal with them, it was nightmare, was worse then going to DMV or dentist. They never fixed anything and heat was big issues. Got to point that you didnt even want call because you would end up aggravated. My experience with new owners and the fine people who work, The rental office and maintenance has been great, they are so nice and they treat you like a human being. They are great on making repairs and they have been very helpful. For anyone living in the complex, dont be afraid to deal with them, its like a new environment hear, for any one thinking of moving in to Forest Hill, its a great place to raise a family and close to transportation. I normal dont do any ratings, but I have been taken back on how well they are running the complex, and how well they have treated me and my family. I like to say thank you to everyone in rental office and all the hard working maintenance workers.
Very great and helpful assistance from Lisa. Moved Wonderfulin with no issues. Very good looking new apartment. Basically everything anyone needs for a good living here.
For being a first time renter, i didnt know what to expect with the rental process but Margie at the leasing office, made it easy for me. I am beyond impress! I still remember when I first walked in at my apartment and I told Margie this is it and we both agreed😍
I was told by Lisa that I don’t qualify to rent because section 8 automatically only pays for maximum of $1500 for this area and their apartments are $1625 for two bedroom. I need to investigate to see if this is true for all cases. I feel that certain people are turned away purposely.
Amazing leasing office! extremely helpful, understanding, and responsive. location is perfect to Garden State Pkway and to downtown. Renovations are gorgeous and well done. Great place to move to after coming from the city!
Based on my experience of living in this place, I advise you to find out well before moving there .. before the administration was Kinder than Now you go to the office to complain and do not care
Office staff was great in helping me and my daughter thru our transaction into a larger apartment. We had some issues that were resolved immediately. I love place, very close to Garden State Parkway, Restaurants and shopping. Parking can be a little crazy after 8pm, my suggestion is to purchase a parking space.
The renal office staff is pleasant, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. They quickly and professionally helped me through the application process. The apartments are beautiful and the neighborhood is great. I would recommend Forest Hills Apartments for anyone looking to move into the area.
The laundry room is not working as usual to charge your cards and as usual the answer call the company we are not responsible for that 😂😂😂worst service ever with the new management no control at all with the maintenance office and the answer you can come and use the laundry room near to the office !!! So they just take care about everything near to the office to show it to people when they come to lease and the rest they don’t care about
Just moved from GA. Lisa helped me through the process. Office staff were very nice to work with. Just want to say Thank you to the staff and especially Lisa for all of the help!! The apartment is nice, and quiet area as well.
The leasing office staff are professional and very knowledgeable. Dealing with them was a pleasant and friendly experience. They guided me though the application process and quickly took care of everything.
Place is looking very nice - lots of good changes -and much better service then the old owners. Thought my rent would go up with all the new stuff going on but holding steady so far, Keep up the good work.
Super unprofessional. The staff can’t get there story straight. One date was giving to us to sign the lease. We signed everything and the date was change. Kris and Margie both Unprofessional. Went to this lease office 3 times for nothing. No wonder tenants kept coming in to complain. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
For being a first time renter, we didnt know what to expect with the rental process but the ladies at the leasing office, Lisa and Margie, were more than helpful to us first timers! We are beyond impress ! They even offered to replace the washer and dryer to a new one after moving in!
Great, quiet complex in an accessible location close to the parkway and bus stops. 10 minutes from Montclair, next to a grocery store, liquor store and nail salons. The ladies in the rental office are the great; very friendly and super responsive and helpful.
Margie and Lisa are AMAZING! Very helpful and kind.
My boyfriend and I made a deposit before Covid hit. When Covid hit we lost our income and obviously couldn’t move into a new apartment. The leasing office wouldn’t make any exception and give us our deposit back and the manager was so rude on the phone not even letting me get a word in without cutting me off. It’s sad they would take advantage of a struggling family during a pandemic and not refund back the $1,000 deposit when we are in need. Really upsetting.
Just moved and was looking for something close to where I’m doing my residency. I found this place which is just a 5 min drive away. I opted for the renovated apartment, which for a little more gave me the modern feel that I had in Manhattan. The property is well taken care of and office staff was very helpful. Nice quiet neighborhood right next to the forest hill field club. I have a view of the greens from my bedroom and I can’t wait to get over there. It’s close proximity to the GSP so you can be anywhere in a matter of minutes.
Gr8 location! Gr8 neighborhood! Very happy with my apartment. I had a problem recently in the middle of the night. 24 hr maintenance showed up and took care of it right away. Overall very happy!
Ive been working with the leasing office the past couple of days to hopefully be able to rent one of their units. I dont live here but wanted to review the leasing staff. I ended up just walking in for some info and expected to be turned away or asked to make an appointment for another day. Instead I was shown 2 separate units on the spot! Mind you they seemed to be busy but still helped me and answered my questions. Everyone at the office was welcoming and very professional. The leasing agent Kris is so sweet and patient. I hope to be approved and living here with in the next couple of weeks. Ill come back and review about the living situation. The units were very spacious and from what I saw the grounds were taken care of as well.
I have lived here for last 3 years, everything is fine, when I had problems I call maintenance and they promptly fixed things, very grateful for that. There is something that does bother me it is the drainage system or its absence. The front door access is flooded, the entrance to laundry room - flooded
The apartment is clean and well kept. However, I highly regret moving here. They keep the heat to a bare minimum (obviously to save money). Multiple complaints and all they can say is there is nothing we can do. Plus send a letter stating the law requires 70 degrees minimum. Why should I freeze in my apartment that I pay for and have to wear multiple layers of clothing. Sad. Greedy lanlord.
I live here some days of the week. The parking is absolutely horrible unless you pay extra $50 for a reserved spot. But the management LIES that you dont have to buy that spot. They say you can find free parking on street and unmarked sites. But that is untrue. You must pay rent using check showing your apartment address. Otherwise they will not accept. Many other petty things they are v strict about.
This place is a mess, they stold money and they dont want to give it back! Im going to have to take legal accions on that!
I actually had problems with low heat, but they eventually changed out all the baseboards for radiators. The maintenance crew is prompt and courteous. The area is quiet and well maintained. It is worth renting a garage for $50/mo to avoid the parking issues.
Margie was our leasing agent and she made everything wrong smoothly for us ☺️ She even helped me figure out how to set up my furniture. Thanks again Margie ❤️
One of the worst place to rent. Staff at rental office is useless. If you have any question they will say oh we dont have any authority and we would need to ask our manager in New York. They have returned my rental check because it was $21.73 less and they send me back after my last date saying that it was inadequate and now I have to pay late fees and I was given two day and I missed that so now they went to court and I have to pay another $300. I am going to leave this place soon. Place is crap. Old buildings, old equipment, no dishwasher. If are considering to rent this place please go and see a doctor because no human in his write state of mind would ever rent apartments from them. On scale of 1-10 for 1 being worst and 10 the best I would rate them as -10. REALLY REALLY BAD PLACE. PLEASE SEE A DOCTOR IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING TO RENT A PLACE FROM THEM.
Outstanding Experience, Thank You Lisa
Do not rent here! It is freezing cold and NO heat. AIso, there is very poor parking and the staff in the leasing office are very rude... especially Nancy. Stay away from this place otherwise you will have regrets.
Came here to look at apts with my sister...all the comments about the rental staff is correct! We were given forms to read when the staff left to show other people apts and didnt say anything to us. The staff member didnt introduce herself or tell us which apts were available to be seen. Sat in the office for 30 minutes just waiting when we decided to leave. Based on these other comments, looks like we dodged a bullet!
There is a person who lives here that has some sort of Autism or mental problems. He looks like a child but is an adult. The first time I ran into him he said he was looking for a 12 year old girl. The conversation went down hill from there and he told me I am not gay but I want to suck your.. I called the police on him and they said he hadent commited a crime so there was not really anything they could do. I get that the Bloomfield PD can only do so much. So about a month later my wife took the baby for a walk and she came back in upset. The same guy chased her down the street asking about 12 year old girls again. My wife told me that she felt very uncomfortable living here. I went and talked to the people in the office and the lady Nancy told me that it wasnt her job so one of the tenants (yes he lives here) herasses other tenants and somehow they cant be bothered with it. Real slumlords if you ask me.
I am currently having a horrible experience with the the rental office. I have been sitting here for over an hour waiting to view an apartment. They only have one person showing apartments and no one in the rental office knows which apartments are available. The guy who showed me the apartment was unprofessional. Will not be renting at this location.
I just looked at apartments and the comments about the leasing/rental office was correct. First agent didnt even acknowledge me when I walked in or sat down, first words were here look at this form. No introduction. Even when she spoke to me aBout my id and policies I thought she was reading these lines from a paper because her head was down when speaking to me. I was then shown a unit and maybe I may have been more interested if they actually showed interest in showing the unit then just standing silent in one spot, again head down. while I figure out everything myself. Little or no eye contact, head down, showed no interest in conversating. Even when I asked a question the response was a response that was LIKE saying hurry up and leave, because the answer was mumbled because she was trying to speak too fast, which clearly meant she didnt want to talk, and again head down.
Maintenance strives to exceed your expectations, as it says on their website. LIES LIES LIES! They were fixing an apartment upstairs & left the water on and my ceiling downstairs is now ruining and falling to pieces because of the pipe burst. They stuffed the hole with paper towel and said they would fix it tomorrow. It has been 2 months now. It smells terrible and the walls are turning yellow. The basement had a pipe burst as well and caused my floor to RISE UP! Now I cant open my closet door because it jams on the floor. I cant reach anything inside. My passport and papers all got wet inside the closet from the pipe burst. My front door is breaking apart on the bottom corner because of the risen floor as well and I have to push the door open and shut hard. Do not ever ever rent here! Also had a problem with roaches for about 8 months living here. It was the worse experience ever. I am out of here already now. This place was not worth any money.
Its 30 degree outside for last 2-3 weeks but heat is not on yet.DONT RENT APARTMENT FROM THIS PLACE. There is always different problems occur here.
Staff is not helpful. Parking is terrible.
Do not recommend to rent place is dirty staff suck
