Ive been a resident for 3 years and for the price, its fine. However, they did increase rent due to the addition of brand new amenities that I was ultimately unable to take advantage of due to the pandemic. Up until the very last month of me living here, things were fine. Maintenance was a little bit slow and besides them having to fix our fridge 4 times instead of switching out, it was fine. My very last month of living here, I ended up accepting a job and found someone to sublease my room. I called the leasing office every week with questions regarding the subleasing process and the week my subleaser was supposed to move in, they told me they were confused as to who was leaving and coming in. Seriously? For a month and after multiple phone calls, thats not clear? They also told me I need 3 more documents which would delay the move in date. They also collected the same payment from the both of us which is an indication that there is a total lack of communication from the team. They just take money from people without noting what its for? I also found out that I was meant to be assigned a leasing consultant who was supposed to follow up with me and provide me with all necessary information to ensure a smooth resident change. Well, that didnt happen. So I practically did someones job for a month. All of this could easily be resolved with more internal communication, but it seems like theyre fighting that for whatever reason. This resident change was incredibly stressful for me and it ruined my relationship with Foxridge.
After reading some of these reviews maybe I just got lucky or maybe people expect too much but its a perfectly good starter apartment and I had no problems upon move in here. Its very spacious and I like it. Its not luxury but youre a college kid and you dont need luxury.
THEY ARE THIEVES. We replaced the drip pans and cleaned the kitchens and bathrooms, yet they still charged us to replace the drip pans and clean those areas. They will trump up every charge. It cost us $12 to replace the drip pans but theyre charging us $25. They charge $10 to replace easily broken ice trays. They charged us $35 storage fee for a pot they found after move out and $20 to clean a fridge which was wiped down entirely, but they claim they found a microscopic crumb (my roommate went in to contest the charges and they showed her a ridiculous picture of literally a crumb). When we moved in, we still had to clean the place because they dont bother to clean whatever minuscule charges they want to bill us for. They are known for robbing students of their security deposits. When my roommate went to ask to talk to a manager, they refused to meet with her, and they refused to make an appointment with her to discuss the charges. The place was okay. Not luxury, but youre also not paying for luxury. When I moved in, there was no AC. There was flooding from the upstairs apartment one night because they dripped on the floor and it seeped through to my bathroom. The ceilings were incredibly thin and I could hear every footstep above me. The maintenance workers were nice and quick to respond, I will give them that. All in all, not worth living at, for the way they will scam you out of your money and the cheap quality of life.
Dont bother with these jokers. Poor and old facilities. Carpet smell makes me sick. Terrible staff and policies, screw me over nearly every time I pay rent. Things quickly went down hill after moving in.
The maintenance guys were great, but the office staff was so unprofessional and disorganized. They lied about our apartment conditions and used nonexistent issues to take part of our deposit. Since we had already signed a new lease we were living there the next year. If you already live here or plan to (dont do it) make sure that you take a lot of pictures before you move in and right before you turn in your key.
I lived here for three years. It is quite far from campus, but the buses are frequent enough to negate that issue. Maintenance workers were nice and prompt, but that is my only positive. First of all, the rent is outrageously high for what youre getting. My unit was okay, but I was in one of the newer buildings toward the back. The older units are in massive disrepair. The management is disorganized and rude. They couldnt find my lease the day I moved in, could never find my file when I came to the office, and misplaced one of my renewal leases then tried to take away my early renewal bonus. And definitely dont count on getting your security deposit back. I left my unit with no damage and cleaner than it was when I got it when I moved in, and I got $40 of my $300 security deposit back. They will charge you for every little thing. While this is one of the quieter complexes in Blacksburg, there are still rowdy students. My neighbors partied often, and I had a girl break into my apartment while drunk. There are much better places to live in Blacksburg. Steer clear of Foxridge.
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! The staff is awful and they will rip you off!! The whole thing is a scam! Do not be fooled by the cheap price tag because this place is horrible and you will regret moving here.
Just found out that the leak in my daughters ceiling that we noticed and brought to their attention upon move-in (August) has not yet been fixed properly. They just keep patching it, so every time it rains it leaks again. It is May now and still leaking. Very disappointed and they have the nerve to raise the girls rent for next year.
I was a resident there from August 2013 to July 2014 in the Foxcroft section, and I am glad to be living elsewhere now. Dont be fooled by all the amenities they offer. It was not worth the money and the staff lied to me on several different occasions. We also had to pay an extra $10 a month to stay in a prime area, and it was anything but that and it was very noisy despite being advertised as a quiet graduate/family complex.Pros:-Good location (although theres not really a bad area to be in Blacksburg)-Very clean when I moved inCons:-Very restrictive pet policy. The only thing that they tell you is that there is a 2 pet maximum. I was lied to by a staff member and told that caged pets did not count for the 2 pet maximum. They do actually, and they will not hesitate to throw a $200 fee at you if the animal is not removed in 2 days.- They are are much more expensive than the surrounding competition and after my experience, there is nothing extra special about living there.-If you are a student, be aware that they will send out notices during semester breaks that are time sensitive. Because their policy is on that level of stupid.- Getting back to the clean apartment upon movement. The reason it is so clean is because they devoured the last guys deposit to clean it. Dont bother cleaning your apartment when you move out. My roommates and I SCRUBBED down the apartment to make it presentable. They then charged us to re-clean everything we had just cleaned and charged us for trash that we were positive wasnt there. The fees are very expensive as well. For example, they charged me $2.00 to take a piece of tape off of my wall. Have fun with that.-The amenities were not what I expected. If you are a student, just use Techs facilities. My overall advice to anyone considering Foxridge, particularly the graduate areas in Hethwood: Dont.Rent a nice apartment from a smaller scale landlord in the area. Itll be less hassle, less insane policies, a more personal experience, and will deal less damage to your wallet.
Please do NOT choose this place. My husband just moved out. He was charged $2000 when he moved out for something that was on the carpet when he firstly moved in. The management forced him to write the check when he moved out.
This place is TRASH. they dont care about you. Just their money. They trick you out of even more money. Theyre rude on the phone. Maintenance never actually fixes the issues. Please live somewhere else. They claimed to have reimbursed me but wont let me see my payment history so now Im out of money.UPDATE: the wet area they claimed to have fixed in my bedroom clearly did not get fixed. I left to go home during summer vacation and came back to this. THIS IS DISGUSTING!! Now I have to throw belongings away that of course will not come with any monetary reimbursement. AFTER they told me the issue was handled. Mind you this was after they told me there wasnt an issue. Unacceptable.
The carpet is unclean & stinky when I moved in! The agent said it is what a carpet should smell like!!! Excuse me?And there are also other problems such as there is a big yellowish stain on the 2nd bedroom ceiling and peeling paint!
The worst customer service center ever. The people are no help.
Average older apartment complex for Blacksburg
