Super helpful!! I needed some help with the pegs on my violin. Not only did they fix the pegs, they also tuned it for me, got a better fit for my chin rest, and helped me find a neck rest for around $20. Definitely going back here if I need anything else!!
Probably one of, if not the best music store in the Birmingham area. They market towards musicians of all kinds - beginner to semi-professional/professional. Very clean establishment and helpful/knowledgeable staff. If you’re looking for a great place to fill most all your music needs, look no farther, you’ve found it here!
The folks at Arts are top notch people who were incredibly helpful and most importantly, expressed themselves to be true enthusiasts of music themselves. They may be salesmen, but they came off more as highly knowledgeable fellow shoppers that had very straightforward and non-salesy opinions of the Breedlove acoustics and G&L electrics I was looking into. I had a really fun time trying out at least 10 different guitars in a relaxed but helpful atmosphere. Importantly, every guitar they had on the wall was expertly setup with appropriately filed nuts, adjusted saddles, and perfect relief on the necks. The Breedlove Organic Series Concerto I purchased was legitimately came as perfectly setup as you can get right off the display wall. I just with they had a store in my hometown of New Orleans, LA.
Got told a U bass is rare yet at bailey brothers (within walking distance)I found two that were better quality and cheaper
Store was sufficient and knowledgeable about music.
Very overpriced! I understand small business vs online shopping and major companies, but come on!
Repair shop - especially the woodwind tech, Brian, since I’m a sax player - are fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the workings of the instrument and willing to work with you on modifications. I’ve taken several saxophones for full overhauls and they are lightyears better than before. Even when I move I will try and get work done here if I can.
Great people
Everyone was not only friendly and helpful but extremely knowledgeable too! The person who helped me had a degree in music! (So much more than just a sales clerk.)
We arent musicians, and they didnt run us out when my wife put her lack of talent on display when she strummed the banjo. For that, I give them 5 stars.
❤️ I visited Art’s Music Shop for the first time last week, and I was very impressed with the professionalism of those who worked there and the great selection of instruments and music! Kayci Greer was very helpful and knowledgeable about my flute that needed repair! Their prices are also wonderful! Their dedication to excellence is inspiring!
Ive used arts throughout school and they are great!
Arts is overpriced.
Great selection of Christmas sheet music.
Friendly & knowledgeable but took longer than expected to get instrument serviced. I was told would be called the next day with estimate, & it was 3 days before I received the call. I told them I had to get instrument back by a specific date for a performance, he said not a problem, I was calling them to get it back 4 days before performance, & was able to pick it up the day before it. They kept it for a month, & I was never able to speak directly to guy doing service which was not cheap. Dont be in a hurry when dealing with them!
Great store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I always find out something new when I visit. Its also nice that the employees are gigging musicians in the area. Would recommend.
Art’s is a lovely music store with a huge selection, and everything they had in stock was very high quality! Jay, Taylor, and Stan were very helpful and very hospitable; the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming!
Ive worked with several music stores throughout the state of Alabama- both as a personal musician & as a music director in the schools- & my experience with Art’s Music has been professional, helpful, & quick. Their service is wonderful, & they are knowledgeable in many school band & orchestra areas. I highly recommend using them for your instrument needs.
I laid way electric drum set I paid it off in 3 months when I came to pick up my drum set they gave me the display set on the floor they didnt even bother to clean it and and dumped everything in the box and hand it to me, when I got home I was very disappointed so I called them and they said this is what you purchased. After long talk to their manager they decided to give us a new one. And send me a card for customer satisfaction to know how they treated me. If youre planning to Layaway anything make sure to tell them I wanted to be a brand new never used and when you buy it open it in the store to make sure you get what you pay for.
Ive been to every music shop in the area (that I know of) Guitar Center, Bailey Brothers, Homewood Musical Instrument Co, Highland Music, etc. Ill be honest, unfortunately its a pretty lackluster experience no matter where you go around here. I wish it wasnt the case, but its true. Different reasons why with different stores, but I will say the one time I went into Arts Music Shop, it was a great experience. No issues at all, the staff was polite, and the store inventory was pretty decent. Their guitar tech is also great. Trust me, you can do a lot worse than Arts. :)
Service was awesome. They were patient, informative and gave several choices of the instrument.
I always receive amazing customer service here. They are always knowledgeable about the product and are always willing to help with any of my needs. Highly recommended!
Great customer service
I have bought two saxophones here. And most recently some accessories. Theres usually someone here that is knowledgeable about the things I need and the questions I have. It has always been a a good experience for me.
If you want to resell any instrument that you previously bought from this company, dont do it. Dont waste your time. You will not be offered anything close to what the store sold the instrument to you before.
This is an excellent music shop with any kind of music instrument or sheet music you might be looking for - whether student model or professional level instrument they have it. Recommended
Great store. Good selection. Knowledgeable staff.
Was in there for 20 minutes with my kid and wasnt even acknowledged. Tried to get their attention but employees were in a rather long discussion with each other. We are now at Bailey Brothers which is a block away so we can purchase a bass guitar for my son. Customer service actually exists at Bailey Brothers. It does not at Arts. Such a disappointment. We had heard good things about them.
Took in my guitar to get set up and to get the fret buzz handled. They told me it would take them three days. I took it to them on a Monday and I called them Thursday. They hadnt even gotten started on it. (They said it was school season but if you tell me three days then stick by what you say) I told them I needed it by Friday morning and they told me theyd have it ready. I go that Friday morning and it was set up apparently. They didnt even do my intonation and Im pretty sure they didnt use the string gauge I requested. To make things worse the fret buzz was horrendous. Like my guitar was unplayable, even more than before. Horrible service to say the least. I absolutely do not recommend getting your guitars set up here. Downright disgusting.
If you drop your instrument off for an estimate get it in writing with a signature from the manager that they will not work on it.I walked in to pick up my trombone from an estimate, started walking out and was told I owed money. For what? I did not authorize anything. Its too bad this shop is the only option in Birmingham. Check out Bailey Brothers to see if they have what you need first.
This place is a joke. I called and asked about a mellophone and was told that they had several from me to choose from. I get there and they had one that was new and one from the 70s they tried sell me. I will stay with Bailey Brothers.
Attended a Breedlove Guitar Showcase. Arts Music Shop in-store acoustic guitar lineup includes Breedlove, Michael Kelly, and Yamaha.
Great customer service and I bought 2 trumpet from here and ththeir perfect
Everything a student needs to sharpen their craft.
Nick in the guitar dept is the best around! Knows his stuff and might show you a few tricks!
Very friendly and professional staff.
Late or Cello repairs, They had my Cello for 2 days to reset the bridge (takes 15 mins) I had to pick it up and do it my self.
Great place to go.Got my new clasical guitar there.
Very helpful staff. Selection is a little small but can order what you need. Just a tad pricey however.
They have good instruments, but when I walked in, I walked straight past about 3 or 4 employees who were unoccupied at the moment and nobody said a word to me. I will never visit or buy from them ever in my life.
The staff are super knowledgeable and very friendly. They have a great selection of products.
Great staff and they have layaway!
Great staff
I called and they didnt answear
Very friendly people. Great selection.
Very helpful but the instruments are pretty expensive
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Great staff and great service!!
It was a nice place to go to for music
They awesome and they help out with beginner band
Had what I needed. Great service.
Awful place, horrible customer service, and the insurance isnt worth a damn! Gadsden Music is way better!
Better than Bailey Brothers. Just sayin!
Changed to 4 stars because service isn’t as good as it used to be. It is now only ok. Was also very expensive.
Stay away. They are way overpriced.
Always have a good experience at Arts. They work well with the school programs and if they don’t have what we need they are sure to find it
I spent $3500 on a saxophone here and when I tried to sell it back they offered me $150 even though it was in good condition just an fyi
Nice; theyll order in for u
Helpful and kind.
Good. place to shop for all your. music. needs.
I brought in something for them to look at in January and its been 3 and a 1/2 months and they havent called back. Ive called 5 or 6 times and the manager has been on vacation every single one of those times. They stole my instrument. DO NOT GO HERE
Wonderful customer service
Very helpful and friendly
Great place for instruments
Big
No words!
Ask for Ron or Linda or anyone!!!!
I will never shop here again. They take advantage of the schools and over price. They finance at 300% interest. Total ripoff.
