Brian at Tech Bench was terrific! My first contact by phone with Brian made me comfortable and wanting to deal with the company. He was very helpful and explained the process of what he was doing as he went along. I was use to my old tech support (who went out of business) and Brian made me feel like I had been working with him for years. Would highly recommend this company. Felt very confident letting Tech Bench repair my computer. They were able to diagnose the problem before the repair. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to repair their computer. Unfortunately another problem arose that could not be predicted until they took the computer apart. This made my repair somewhat expensive. However, Im extremely satisfied with the quality of the work done. I was informed of what was happening and what was found at every step of the repair process. I appreciate that I was updated about what was found. I was also given the choice to continue to repair or stop. Very professional operation.

The company name - Tech Bench - describes best its focus for hardware and software help. It is my preferred company for Computer hardware/software issues. Tech Bench and Miles - one of their technicians is very professional, knowledgeable and exceptionally responsive when I needed help on several occasions. After diagnosing the problem, they have the customer in mind offering good value solutions. An example with my Hard drive problem, it was best to replace and upgraded to ta Solid State Drive SSD, todays standard for new computers. They have provided virus identification and removal on site and remote without having to visit me in person. I highly recommend them when you need help.

I was in search of a specific type of nut that was missing from my CPU cooler and was needed to complete my system build. I dropped my Toshiba laptop accidentally and the screen went out. I took it in to Tech Bench of Birmingham and Miles was able to diagnose the issue and fix it in less than 24 hours! He found the connector was unseated and was able to carefully reseat it and even fixed a loose bezel at the same time! I lost my daughters soccer videos because I formatted my go pro. I called go pro myself and they gave me a big negative, I set an appointment with the geek squad and they wouldn’t touch it. But the Tech Bench listened to my problem, gave me transparent feedback and educated me on the small possibility of recovering my videos. Appreciated their transparency in immediately sharing potential problems and costs. I brought them a Macbook Pro. The hard drive had failed, but they were able to recover everything I needed!

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at this repair shop. I paid $90 upfront and left my laptop with them. Got a call a few hours later that they checked it out and came to the conclusion that it was a problem with Apple and wouldnt be able to fix it and that itll cost an extra $35 somehow ?So, I picked it back up the next morning, hoping to at least get some on my money back. Instead, he said to not worry about the extra $35 and I left the store with a broken laptop and an unnecessary $90 out of my pocket. Very frustrating...

Approximately 10 months ago, I brought an older CPU to Tech Bench for repair. Miles suggested he could build me a new one for about $800.00 and I had him do that. Recently, I found that 2 of the Ports, a Type C and a USB 3.0 didnt work. I had never tried to use them before but all of the other USB ports on the CPU were in use. I brought the CPU back to Tech Bench. They wanted to charge me $90.00 just to check the computer. When I pointed out I had already spent $800.00 for the CPU they said there was only a 30 day warranty and I should have checked the ports when I took delivery 10 months ago. Of course, everyone has use for, and can check, a Type C port, right? I took the CPU back, picked up a 4 port expansion card at Microcenter, and installed it myself.Tech Bench could have checked the CPU, installed another 4 port expansion card, and probably negotiated with me to at least pay for the card. Instead, they just had to have their $90.00 and made an enemy. By the way, major CPU brands give a 1 year warranty.

I took my laptop in to have the keyboard replaced and the drive updated to a 500 GB SSD. Brian and Katy were awesome to work with and did an excellent job on my computer. The service was on-time, top quality and the price was very fair and reasonable. My computer is running faster than new and I didnt have to throw out a perfectly good unit! Let me start out by saying I rarely leave reviews - I was unable to log into my laptop after restarting it (it would get stuck at the login page). I did not back up my laptop in which had over a thousand pictures dating back to 2010. Best Buy and Apple told me my pictures and data were gone because the Hard drive was corrupt. Thankfully I was recommend to this place. Miles was able to get all my pictures and data back as well as fix the hard drive on my laptop! He kept me updated during the whole process and even created a back up of my laptop in case I ever get a new one or if something like this were to happen again. Miles is outstanding at what he does! I highly recommend this place they are easy to talk to and great at what they do!

Really great experience with Techbench. I had a 1-1/2yr old laptop with certain keys not working. Took it in and they quickly fixed it. A week or two later, different keys started to fail. I took the laptop back and they took it apart and did what they could to correct a design flaw - kinked ribbon. No charge for that second trip even though the issue wasnt related to the new keyboard module they had replaced earlier. Definitely recommend and would return for future computer issues.

I took my laptop into tech bench and they could not have been better. My computer would not boot up. I was very concerned that everything on it would be lost. Helpful but not very good at calling back when they say the will.

My computer was running at 90°c playing games and at an idle is was at 40°c and climbing, when I took it to them they pulled the old cooler off and stuck a water cooled on on there and now it stays it is running at 30°c playing games.they also did above and beyond and cleaned it ap and screwed in some missing bolts.Overall my experience was great

We go to them with all our computer needs, from problems with our computers and even to buying a new computer.Recently, we took in one of our computers for service to be cleaned, also due to having some bugs/viruses. After a couple weeks of having it back like brand new my son had been on my computer and downloaded a bunch of different files to bring back more bugs about 700 of them! Yikes!!!!I called Tech Bench spoke with Ken (which by the way he is amazing) and he walked me through what to do. He could understand with me not being tech savvy and was able to locate my computer, go in it for me and clean it out again with all of the bugs my son had downloaded. It took Ken over a half hour of working on my computer to get back to normal again. And of course Ken did not charge me a dime for all of his time. And I loved the fact that I did not have to bring my computer in for him to fix it!Thank you Tech Bench for all you! We would not go anywhere else for our computer needs!

I took my computer in to get rid of viruses and also because I couldnt up load photos from my phone or scan to my computer. They did a great job of cleaning up my computer and then spent time with me remotely to rectify the other issues. Jon was always pleasant, patient and delightful to work with. I feel that he went above and beyond the call of duty to help me and Im very appreciative.

Alright. just yesterday I was insulting my laptop from how terribly slow it is i swear I swear I pull up to this place and at the counter I see An angelic human being standing in there Dude. you dont realize how crazy this is I haven’t even told her my issue (was a little too shy to ask her for her name) but I should’ve I swear when I say this is the best customer service anyone can ever experience I walk in and she detects exactly what the issue is. This is not all, She was the one to work on my laptop and no surprise she made it faster than my acer GTX1560 nitro. to whoever the manager is this employee can run stores by herself not just a store I swear she explained every step with such great detail that I had to ask her if she tutors. Tech Bench of Birmingham are ACES with me! I went in hoping to find a few screws to hold my hard drive since the hard drive manufacturer did not think to add them to the drive I purchased. Great service, I erased some programs an in effect crashed my own computer. HP wanted me to re-install the operating system and wipe all my data. The guys at Tech Bench were able to restore the system back to where it was -- thankfully.... also very reasonably priced... I would recommend highly to anyone
