Staff was friendly and timely; however, I asked for a fade with a hard part. The fade on the hard part side was very uneven, which I did not notice until afterward as they did not style my hair with enough product. I would have preferred if my stylist just told me she had not done one in a while since she asked me to clarify how to do a hard part. Will not return.

I took my ten year old son who has a thick head of unruly hair up there after looking for almost two years for a place that had a stylist who could cut it properly. Miss Laura was AMAZING!! The front desk service was superb and the entire place was spotless!! Definitely going there from now on and sending his Dad up there next! Amazing service and very very much worth every penny! My son LOVED his back to school haircut and we HIGHLY recommend this barber shop! Thank you!!

My first impression of the male room, was that of a very nice and upscale barber shop. I was greeted immediately, signed in, offered a beverage and asked about how I’d found out about the establishment. Beth was my hair stylist and she did a great job. I came in wanting a fairly detailed cut and she took her time and got it the way I wanted. That’s huge for me because it takes months and months to grow out my hair so I always appreciate when my stylist takes the time to get what I want done. All and all, great experience. I’ll be back. This is my new go to in Birmingham for a top notch fade.

My lowest review for any place I have been to. Me and my son had two consecutive appts from 4 to 5 pm. Reached ten minutes late since we drove from an hour away amidst bad traffic. Still both our haircuts in the remaining 45 min should have been easily manageable. The receptionist is probably the coldest I have experienced in a while - she needs to learn customer service - a book or YouTube video might help with building her skills on that front. Elaine did a decent job with my sons haircut but they wouldn’t offer to do my haircut. Big disappointment. They need to offer better customer service than this for someone to drive from an hour away. There are better and friendlier hairstylists in town. Your poor customer service will bring your downfall one day. Till then, enjoy the business, ‘Male room’ folks!

The two receptionists in the lobby we’re not wearing masks. My stylist asked me if I wanted to remove my mask. One of the customers behind me did not have on a mask. This place is a public health hazard. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Ive been going to the Male Room for about 3 years now and have used Lauren for the past 2 years. She always does a great job and is easy to hold a conversation with. She also offers suggestions to switch things up every now and then so Im not stuck with the same haircut every single time. I would highly recommend The Male Room, especially Lauren!

Tiffany was my first haircut in Birmingham right after I moved here from Atlanta. I havent been anywhere else since. She was/is great and I try to get her when I can schedule it, but anytime I have had to schedule a different stylist, they have also been wonderful... great place, great people.

Outstanding! I called around 5pm on a Thursday with no appointment and asked if they could work me in. The receptionist on the phone was very polite, and said that everyone was booked out for the rest of the evening, but if I came in, a spot might open up. Sure enough, I only had to wait less than 5 minutes.Nicky was fantastic! She did exactly what I asked for and even made a few suggestions, which worked perfectly. I would also like to add that even beyond getting a great cut, Nicky had a great sense of humor! To me, that is all part of the experience. In fact, it seemed like all of the stylists had a good dynamic with one another and they were quick with a witty come-back.Anyway, this place is great and Nicky is awesome! This time, I was sure to make an appointment 3 weeks out for her instead of just walking in.Great establishment with great stylists! Thanks Nicky!

Its an expensive Great Clips.Been in twice, and the first time was good, but this time was so bad it doesnt even deserve a decent review. If you are looking for a quick solution you can get the same haircut at greatclips.Just went back today and asked for the same thing. My hair to be faded from the bottom and blended in, that I like to push it back and to the side. I also asked for it to be thinned out.I just got a number 2 or 3 all the way around, it was not thinned out or blended, and then was asked Is that how you wear it? not nicely mind you. I asked if she thinned it out (knowing she didnt) and got a sigh and she did a little thinning out but not enough to keep my hair down and let it lie. Scared she would cut too much off with the clippers I said it was find and left. I did not want to ask for someone to do their job...Now I just have a bunch of hair sitting on the top of my head looking ridiculous and sticking out and a important meeting tomorrow...

I have tried many different places to get my hair cut over the years in several cities. I have tried the inexpensive hair salons that are trained to give you a 10 minute haircut and the ones that cost more than a large steak dinner at a nice restaurant. This place beats them all. The stylists spend the time on your hair to do a quality job. They are friendly and offer you a free cold drink when you come. The chairs are comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxed. I am moving 25 further away and will continue driving back here to get a quality haircut.

Sure, there were one or two over the years that I didnt like as much as others, and stylists that have come and gone, but there is a reason I keep going and will keep going. Tiffany has been my dads only stylist for years, and Ive been to many stylists. Let me say it again-- Ive never had a bad experience here. Cant recommend it enough.On another note, in response to another review, I can personally vouch for the professionalism of the stylists. On one occasion, a woman was incredibly ugly to Amy about her sons haircut, and Amy conducted herself admirably. She was certainly much more professional than I would have been!And plus, who wouldnt want a rich husband?? :)

Have been going there for a long time. Was two minutes past my grace period because of a wreck on 280 that i couldnt predict. I have very little hair and i usually dont mind paying $25 for a 15 minute hair trim. I dont get shampooed and need a 10 minute clean up that i schedule every 3-4 weeks. After going there consistently for a long time, they were unable to provide any flexibility with regards to my being late. Super harsh about it. I understand the need for a late policy, but I cant tell you how many times I have had to wait for my stylist to be done. I never left because the salon was outside MY grace period; i did my best to adjust and be flexible with their non-intentional delay in my time. No one was getting their hair cut in the chair that was for me, and they were totally matter-of-fact about my cancelation. Just crumby customer service and overly rigid/harsh cancelation policy despite long-standing visits to them. I will not go back. They clearly value their policies over customer service.

You did the right thing, and Im sorry the tyrants threatened your customers because of it. Stay strong.

So I was asked to replace a speaker on short notice and the salon that I have been using for years was all booked up. I stopped by the Male Room near my house and they had an opening with a stylist named Quilla. She was polite and profession and totally focused on her work. I left with the best haircut in years. Last night I thought I would give it another try, and again, I got an outstanding haircut from Quilla. It is low maintenance and looks great. My wife loved it so much she encouraged me to write this review.... Im glad I did.

Girl I had was friendly and kept out of the gossip that was going on. Only reason I left two stars and not one. The other hair stylists in the room were talking about how ugly and fat some husbands are and why didnt they marry rich men. It was extremely obnoxious and unprofessional in a room full of clients. For $25, worst haircut for the money. Left side fade does not match my right, caught the girl in the mirror looking away for long periods while running the buzzer up and down my head. Sideburns not straight and uneven, didnt offer a look at the back of my neck so I dont know how that came out. She trimmed the top like I asked but it all feels and looks uneven up there. Looking for somewhere else as I just moved to this area. Very poor first impression.

I dont have a lot of expectations for a haircut, nor the setting related to a haircut. This business still disappointed me.Ive had a few haircuts here. The cut has been fine, whoever did it was obviously skilled. It really felt like I was an inconvenience whenever I came in. Ive never used this word before, but uninviting is the feeling. Made more sense when I came in the 2nd time and its mostly well dressed middle aged men stopping by before golfing trips to their country club.For reference i usually get my haircut in gym shorts and a t-shirt, hair always seems to get trapped in my collar.Too many haircut establishments in Birmingham for me to go somewhere I feel the staff acts/seems snobby.Also that bowl of head massagers you sell for $5/per is a joke. Theyre $0.30/per on Amazon.

Ive never in my life left a bad review on a company. I understand things go wrong sometimes. My issue isnt with the haircut, it was overpriced for the quality, but Im okay with that. My issue is because my wife had purchased a gift card for me for our anniversary but I had been so busy that the expiration snuck up on me. I called and they were nice enough to allow me to use it if I came in over the following week. I made an appointment, but was stuck in Miami on a business trip and couldnt make it back in time. I called and rescheduled for four days later and they said it would be fine. I get my haircut,go to the counter to pay and they refuse to take the gift card. The excuse was that it was expired and there was nothing they could do. The lady that made the initial extention was there and said that it wasnt in the week she offered over the phone even though there was no mention of any issue when I rescheduled. So I paid twice (counting the cost of the gift card) for an average experience. On top of that they were rude when I questioned them on the logic in refusing to take the gift card. The rudest of the them even made the comment that she doesnt go places unprepared implying that Im the problem even though I was only trying to do what I was told I could do, both in the original appointment and when I called to move it back due to travel issues. Im in service/sales and there is no excuse for any of this to have taken place. The better option would have been to make no extention and I wouldnt have wasted an additional $76 counting tip.

So, completely disappointed. Scheduled an appointment arrived early. Waited past my scheduled appointment time. Watched as they took two walk-ins ahead of me. Told the counter people to cancel my appointment .I doubt I will ever go back.

I just left about 30mins ago. My first bad experience here or with a hair cut in general. I think her name was Abby.I didnt get my fade, just did zero all the way up to my part. She missed a few hairs right below my part that are noticeably longer than the buzz cut. On the other side, blend was ok(I like to push my hair back) and some hairs again, noticeably longer. Sooo, I have some what of a fade, NOT really, on one side and a buzz cut on the other. Didnt do the edges. Didnt ask if she got it right. Im in the military and my hair cut does not look appropriate at all.

I was recommended this place by a friend and saw the sign in front saying walk-ins were welcome. I came in around 3pm and was asked for my phone number, which is fine. I gave it to the receptionist and was given an estimate of about 40 mins, but that I was the first walk-in and that was fine. The time was understandable. Another walk-in arrived shortly after me and I decided to grab food across the street which took about 20 mins and came back to wait for the remaining estimate. When I returned I asked for an updated estimate I was told that I needed to be inside the store and was not given any additional information. In roughly 20 minutes, the walk-in after me was asked to come back. I stayed another 20 mins, waiting a total of an hour for service and was given none.If I was asked for a phone number, why didnt they intend on using it? I cannot comment on the actual haircuts because I stayed another 20 minutes (without service or updates) and left.If walk-ins are welcome, it is implied that service may be given shortly, even without an appointment. A 40 minute wait time is about average for most businesses like this but waiting an hour is ridiculous, especially before most other businesses get out.I wouldnt recommend this place without an appointment or on a day that you have anything but time on your hands.

Easily the worst hair cut ever. $22 just to get my hair shaped up which the stylist didnt even do right. They arent a barber shop they are a hair salon for men. The sign out front will deceive you.
