Our experience there did not inspire trust in their customer service attitude.Several years ago I gave my sister a Citizen Eco Drive solar powered watch with a 5-year warranty purchased from a reputable dealer in our area. When it stopped working last year, she took it to Montagues in Billings and they sent it to Citizen for repair. Finally she was told that Citizen had reported it couldnt be fixed because the parts were unavailable. Then the manager sold her a new watch (unfortunately she told them the maximum she could pay--$120--first) for that exact amount and said it was half price. It was a very plain, traditional, battery powered watch and she didnt get any paperwork or warranty on it. It was a brand we dont recognize and for which we can find no information online. He only told her he would give her new batteries for life--but hey, shes in her mid-eighties now!While we were visiting her in Billings last month, we went to Montagues and asked for her Citizen watch back so I could take it to my original vendors watchmaker, who keeps older parts and might still be able to fix it. The Montagues manager told us he had thrown it away because it couldnt be fixed. My sister had not been asked for her permission to do this, so I was upset and complained. From the get-go we thought the manager acted defensive and arrogant, and never apologized for throwing away a customers property without permission. And we still have unanswered questions about the watch he sold her. I can only hope there are other employees in this long-standing Billings business who show more respect for legitimate customer complaints.

Chris Montague could not have been more accommodating or more patient with the type of ring I wanted and with my price range. I selected the ring both at the store and over the phone and he was great to work with. He had a ring made up for me so I could look at it in person, and then when I wanted it a little different he sent it back to the jeweler to be changed free of charge. It was all done very quickly as well. Fantastic business, dont get your jewelry anywhere else!

Made shopping for my wifes jewelry very easy

There is no rating for a Store that loses a Wedding and engagement ring. Yes they gave my wife another ring but nothing like what she had. She was willing to settle for fear if she did not settle she might not get anything.Be very careful of these folks as I do not believe they lost her Blue Fireray diamond connected to a heart shaped diamond.The fire ray was small but very pure bought in 1977 and the heart was added after the birth of our Second child.I do not believe they lost that ring and i sure know they never talked to me. I am the husband that bought the rings. It has been several years ago that this happened and each time I think about it I feel worse.

Typically I have work done on my pieces by Jensen jewelers in the mall free of charge. I decided to stop by Montagues on my way home to have a link taken out of my watch, which they did in less than five minutes and then charged me ten dollars; however, the gentleman working was friendly. I suppose it is a hard market selling blood diamonds.
