Sherpa Prep is the absolute best investment you can make regarding studying for the GMAT. Nafeez and company know EXACTLY what they are doing and how to properly prepare students of all backgrounds to achieve their bespoke goals. The attention to detail with the study guides, class discussions, and individual study planning is unlike anything Ive seen before. Not only has this made studying easier and more efficient, but he also makes it fun -- youll look forward to seeing him in class! To that end, Nafeez has been the best professor and mentor someone could ask for. He has seen it all when it comes to admissions, planning for B-School, and how to deal with all kinds of life events that may pop-up with you. All he wants to see is you succeed, and that doesnt stop when the class is over. He is still at your disposal years down the road!

I had a VERY POSITIVE experience taking the Sherpa Prep GMAT course. The instructors and materials provided through Sherpa Prep are top notch. The instructors at Sherpa Prep break down the GMAT to its most basic principles, enabling people with various backgrounds and knowledge levels to learn the material. I cannot stress enough the value of the instructors at Sherpa Prep, who are beyond knowledgeable about the GMAT and heavily invested in the success of their students. I attained a competitive GMAT score, increasing my GMAT score more than 100points, and I attribute much of my success to the skills and tools I learned through Sherpa Prep.

I took the GMAT class in January of 2014, and I just retook it a couple a weeks ago. This is, without a doubt, the best bang for your buck when it comes to GMAT prep classes. Nafeez patience with me was limitless. He always offered support, and was responsive. Before I signed up, I sampled two other big-name companies, and this one was the best of the three.

An Investment for your future. My first time taking the Gmat I did not see the point in taking a class or hiring a tutor. I would simply buy the books and muscle through the test just as I would for a college exam. That was a horrible mistake.Sherpa does not just teach you how to do the problems. They provide a strategy on how to take the test. Sherpa provides you with 8 years of test takers knowledge with how to pass the tests you need for graduate school.I now laugh at people who think it is worth to save the money and teach themselves. I guarantee you that any person who is a Sherpa student will excel when compared to someone who tries to self teach themselves. Even if you are all ready a 3.3+ GPA student as I was, I would still recommend this course. If you are willing to spend 30k+ for graduate school than why would you not be willing to pay 3% of that tuition cost to prepare for it.

I took the Sherpa GRE prep course in Bethesda/Friendship Heights. It was a stellar class, and well worth the money. Nafeez was an excellent instructor, and I found that taking a course allowed me to understand the requirements of the test far more deeply than I had over months of unfocused studying using GRE prep books. It gives you the confidence you need to take the test. It is an intensive 8 weeks, but if you do the work, you should be well-prepared for what the test will bring. What is the course? 3.5 hours every week of class time, plus homework that generally includes practice problems, vocabulary review, and practice exams. The instructors recommend budgeting around 15 hours per week. Find the time. Its worth it. And if you bomb the test, Sherpa has some options (like re-taking classes for free) that should help you get back on your feet.

Sherpa Prep is the best, not the best value for the money (although it is certainly that as well), simply the best. The results speak for themselves. My class had FOUR people in it. The AVERAGE time it took Nafeez to respond to ANY email about ANYTHING GMAT or Business School related was probably 6 hours at the most (usually much faster). When I started I was testing at 620, I scored a 750 on the exam. I could write a ton more, but really thats all you need to know. Best prep materials, best instructors, best price, best results.

The Sherpa Prep team is absolutely the best. Their knowledge and insight helped me raise my score by more 160 points. I was lost before I turned to Nafeez and the Sherpa Prep team. The best thing about it is the convenience and the ability to repeat the course. With so many classes and options they make it easy on your schedule. For the price you cant beat Sherpa. I would pick them again over any of the big name courses. They are committed to the students and ensuring everyone succeeds.

Sherpa prep is excellent course and even greater value. I took the course and found it to be right on target. I didnt study much and even took the GRE before the course was finished and did great enough to get into my chosen graduate school. Studying on my own is hard, and I really could not see paying more than $1,000.00. I was worried that you would not get top notch instruction because Sherpa is so affordable, but I was wrong. I took Sherpa Preps GMAT class and cannot say enough praise of the quality of the overall program and of the instruction. All of the staff there - especially Nafeez, Jay, and Erin (I interacted with them most) - are genuinely committed to students success. Their method of teaching and explaining concepts is extremely effective but lighthearted at the same time. Before taking this class I didnt know if it would be possible to get a competitive score on the GMAT given that I have a mostly social science background, but within just a few months of completing the class I was able to score over 700 on the test. I credit all of my progress to Nafeez and all of the other Sherpa staff. If youre willing to put in the hours, they will make sure you succeed - no matter how long it takes. I recommend Sherpa Prep to anyone considering taking the GMAT or GRE - I am confident that you will not be disappointed.

I believe that Sherpa Prep is the best GRE prep company and the instructors are focused on helping the students. The scores I received after taking the class far exceeded the scores I thought I would be able to get on the GRE. I signed up in the summer of 2015 and thought I was prepared to start studying, but in reality I didn’t understand the effort I needed to put in to get the scores I wanted. After studying but not really fully committing, I decided to use the free retake option and repeat the class again in late winter 2016. This time I fully understood the amount of time and effort I needed to put in and was willing to put in the work I needed to get the scores I wanted. All of the instructors at Sherpa are top notch and are invested in your success. I took a class with Nafeez and worked individually with Nasheed. Both of them helped me bring my studying to a new level. Sherpa allows you reschedule a class if you have a conflict. You are given a wealth of study materials (these are awesome) and have the option to repeat the entire course. The great study guides and amazing instructors makes Sherpa head and shoulders above the rest. Sherpa gives you everything you need to succeed if you are willing to put the work in. Making the decision to take a class with Sherpa was the best thing I did for my future.

Sherpa Prep is simply outstanding! One of its many differentiating factors is the comprehensive study materials that you can confidently use as your only source. The classes are small and you ALWAYS get the attention you need. There wasn’t a time when our instructor, Nafeez, didn’t get back to me right away when I had a question. He is really dynamic, personable, and delivers the content in the most engaging manner, which is paramount given the subject matter.I gained truly valuable insights that helped me approach each problem type in the most efficient manner. In my opinion, it’s not realistic to finish the test in the given timeframe using the problem solving techniques outlined in the Official GMAT Guide. Sherpa’s methods are clearly superior in their effectiveness.I cannot recommend Sherpa enough!

I just completed the eight-week GRE preparatory course with Shawn as my instructor at Sherpa Prep, and I could not be more satisfied! From the eight highly detailed and SUPREMELY HELPFUL strategy guides, to the six free-of-cost Manhatten Prep online exams and the Math Bible (for additional practice), Sherpa Prep left no stone unturned in making sure that we had all the resources needed to improve our skills and learn new strategies. Moreover, Shawn was personally invested in our progress, and checked in regularly on our experience with the online practice tests and any questions that we had from lecture/homework. His teaching style was inclusive and extremely easy to understand, and he managed to keep our attention throughout the 3.5 hour lectures! And, in case of missed classes and rescheduling requests, Jay was always quick to respond, with a variety of class times and locations to choose from! All in all, I am very glad that I took this course, and feel ready to tackle the GRE with the invaluable strategies and time management tips that I have learned from Sherpa Prep in the past eight weeks! Thank you to the instructors Shawn and Dylan for being so good at imparting knowledge, and to Jay for his dedication towards making the course a pleasant experience for all students. I would recommend Sherpa to anyone taking the GMAT. The course is structured to prepare you for the exam in a way that builds test taking skills over the 12 classes. The coursework and practice tests follow a somewhat intense schedule but really prepare you for the exam and keep you on track in a way that is easier than trying to study on your own. Nafeez did a great job of tailoring the problems and subjects covered to the ability level of the individuals in our small class. He reinforced the importance of knowing the fundamentals backwards and forwards through pop quizzes and class participation, which saved time and sanity when taking the exam. I scored a 720, with a 99 percentile in verbal and Im so appreciative of all of the help I received from Nafeez and the Sherpa coursework.

I would highly recommend Sherpa Prep to anyone looking to prep for the GRE. I took the course not even knowing when Id go to grad school, what program Im going for, and what score Ill need, but just to give myself the option if I decided to eventually go. Over a three month time span, I increased my GRE score by 15 points, in both Math and Verbal. The fact that they encourage you to take practice exams almost every week is crucial and that experience helped me diagnose my problem areas and what to focus on in my studying. I took the course with Nafeez, who would always respond to my emails within 24 hours and made himself available outside of class for private tutoring sessions. He was approachable and presented information in manageable ways, and used our time in class effectively. The course moves quickly and it can be challenging to keep up, but I studied about 1.5 hours every weekday and about 3 hours each day over the weekends and that seemed to work fine for me. I took the course at Sherpas Dupont Circle location and that was pretty convenient for me since its right across the street from the Metro. The course also has a free repeat policy, which I think is great especially if youre like me and dont know where youre going to grad school yet and may need to take the exam over again for a school that might need a higher score. Again, I cant recommend Sherpa enough to those needing a higher GRE score.

I am so grateful that I found Sherpa Prep at the beginning of my GMAT preparation! After taking the class with Nafeez and then working with him one-on-one until I was ready, I just took the GMAT and got the score I was hoping for (above 700) on the first try. Before beginning this process, I was very intimidated by the GMAT - as a liberal arts major in college who has never felt confident about my math skills, I doubted whether I could get a score that would fall in the range for top MBA programs, and I expected to take the exam more than once in the process of trying. Sherpa Prep not only gave me the tools to approach the test the smartest way possible, but also gave me the confidence I needed to believe in my own capabilities. The GMAT is a psychologically intense exam, and success on the test depended on much more for me than just learning the material - the personalized support Nafeez offered was critical to my strong performance on test day. Im so glad I didnt waste my time and money going to a big, cookie-cutter test prep center and that I worked with Sherpa Prep instead to find a path to GMAT success that worked for my strengths/weaknesses and my schedule. Highly recommend Sherpa Prep to anyone considering the GMAT!

5 stars for Sherpa. If you live in the DMV and are looking to take the GMAT or GRE, I would highly recommend Sherpa Prep. I signed up for the Sherpa GMAT course with Nafeez in May 2015. Before signing up for Sherpa, I had been studying for 8 months using an online course and took the GMAT in March 2015 but didnt do well on the exam. At the time I didnt think I would ever be able to do well on this exam. My confidence was low, but I figured I would give the course a chance given the reviews I had read. I took the course in June 2015 (and retook September 2015 - free repeat policy) with Nafeez. The prep materials are top notch, and Nafeez is the best teacher I have ever had in my life. He knows how to motivate and keeps it real. Disclaimer - do not think by signing up for this course, your score will go up and all your problems will be solved. Sherpa, Nafeez, and Jay will provide you with the tools to succeed. It is up to you to take those tools to hone your own craft on the GMAT. I stuck with the GMAT for months, with scores staying stagnant to finally getting a break in my score after continuing to remain persistent, working with Nafeez the entire time. Fast forward to February 2016, I was able to obtain a GMAT score good enough to apply to the business schools I had on my radar. I went ahead and applied to school, using Nafeez as a coach throughout the process. This Monday I was admitted to my first choice school and it is all thanks to Sherpa Prep! For those of you looking to take the GMAT and apply to business school, do not give up on your dreams. Stay persistent. Dont give up. Believe in yourself. Sherpa Prep for GMAT hands down over anyone else. Thanks Nafeez - youre my boy!

Signing up for Sherpa prep was easily the best decision I have made in the last year to help my own future. Like most people I considered the big name prep companies, Mahattan ($1600), Veritas ($1650), and Princeton Review ($1599). I was hesitant because of the huge price-tag. Also my girlfriend had taken a manhattan prep GRE class and paid 1350. She said the class was good and helped her but wasnt anything she couldnt have gotten from studying the tons of available prep books. I was very wary of paying $1600 for an out of the box prep course. I did not want to give my money to one of these big companies just because I could not discipline myself to study on my own. Then a friend recommended Sherpa prep. I checked it out and was immediately drawn to the more reasonable price of $900 which covered all the same books, their own unique prep material, and more class hours then the big companies. So I signed up.I just recently took the test and scored 150 points higher than my first practice test and could not be happier that I went with Sherpa prep.Looking back, here are few of the reasons why I liked Sherpa prep:Instructor, my instructor was Nafeez. He was down to earth and explained the test in a very accessible way. It was clear from the beginning that he knew what he was doing and that if you buy in to his system and his approach then you would get to where you needed to be before taking the test. Nafeez was very skilled at responding to every single question thoughtfully and without any pretense.Structure, when you pick up a GMAT book it can be very daunting and hard to know where to start. When you start Sherpa Prep you are given a clear road map. Sherpa gives you their own prep material written by the instructors. This road map was crucial for me. There is no point in doing questions on complex combinatorics and probability if you havent remastered arithmetic and algebra.Strategy, when i finally sat for the test I felt confident that I had a strategy for tackling every question type in both the quant and verbal sections. This confidence came directly from my review sessions with Nafeez. None of the material on the test is that difficult (high school level) the trick is knowing how they are going to ask the questions and what the best (quickest) strategy is to getting the right answer. Sherpa is structured to give you these tools.Availability, I imagine the gmat instructors at other companies are smart and give good advice for tackling this test but I am certain the SHERPA difference is the availability of the Sherpa instructors to answer any questions and to meet with students outside of the classroom. After taking the course I met with Nafeez a few times before sitting for the test. (very reasonably priced individual sessions) These sessions were crucial for understanding my weaknesses and perfecting my strategy and approach for each part of the test, especially in regards to timing. In the end it was clear to me that my 900 dollars to a small local company was way more valuable than writing a check for 1600 to one of the larger national companies

Through Sherpa, I was able to get into my top business school, UMaryland, on a merit scholarship. In addition to the low price ($800 vs $1600) and extra classes (12 classes vs 6), what stood out to me with Sherpa compared to its competitors (Kaplan, Princeton, Manhattan Prep, Veritas), is the passion behind the instructors. Nafeez is a dedicated instructor and his teachings have helped me ace the GMAT.In 3 months, my score went up by 100 points and I scored in 47/51 in math (70%). The only way I achieved this was through Nafeezs short-cuts from class and and useful packets (about 15 of them). You will NOT find any of the tricks in work books on Amazon or your local Barnes & Noble store. If you want to score above 50% or a raw score of 40+ for math, I highly recommend Sherpa with Nafeez. He is a MATH WHIZ and excellent at explaining problems (especially those confusing word-problems). The BEST part is that you can email him anytime, even AFTER the courseis over. NO EXTRA FEES for emailing and hell provide you with answers and great explanations. The ESSAY portion of the GMAT is a piece of cake with Sherpas packet. Just memorize the prompt, and youll score at least 5/6, no thinking involved. I have a tough time writing under pressure, but I aced the essay and scored a 5.5 (80%).I took the Sherpa course at the Dupont location, which is convenient and next to the metro. It gets kind of cold during the winter and there are 3 flights of stairs, so wear comfortable shoes and something warm. I enjoyed my cohort, there were about 8 students in the group. My classmates were friendly and intelligent. We cross-learned from each other and most people seemed to keep up with the class. ASK questions in class, the class goes pretty fast and most likely your classmates will have the same questions.Overall, Im very satisfied and highly recommend Sherpas GMAT prep course with Nafeez. The class can seem a bit overwhelming and intimidating, at times its challenging to keep up (it will give you a sense of whats like to work and go to school at the same time). So, I recommend studying 2-3 hours/night and trying to keep up with the class as much as possible. Take the GMAT a few weeks after you complete the course for best results (which is what I did). Dont delay the test, it wont be fresh on your mind. I heard about Sherpa from a friend. Sherpa doesnt do much advertising, hence the low cost and relies mostly on word-of-mouth. Ive passed on the good word to others as theyve also shared a great experience as well.If you want to ace the GMAT, Sherpa will provide the compass and tools you need to get into a great business school.

I registered with Sherpa Prep to get some test prep help for the GMAT. Needless to say, I had a very good experience. The notes that I received were long but very comprehensive and taught me exactly what I needed to know, content-wise, for the exam. The teaching was also great. I had Nafeez as my instructor and he was very patient yet very honest about what it would take to crack 700. Nafeez was online most of the time and would answer my questions very quickly, even after I finished with the classes. I took a practice exam after my first class and got a score of 640. Towards the end of the program and afterwards, my score had increased to between 720-740. I finally got a 730. I had a positive experience with Sherpa Prep and I would recommend them to anybody looking for test-prep. As always however, you get out from it, what you put into it. You definitely need to stay disciplined in achieving your score. Nafeez et al will certainly help you stay focused!

I first heard of Sherpa Prep when referred by a close friend who took the classes. After seeing his GMAT success and hearing him rave about the classes, I immediately signed up. I must say, Sherpa was the best investment I’ve ever made! I can reassure readers its not about the money with Sherpa, their team is devoted and dedicate to each and every student situation because they truly care.First off, JAY and NAFEEZ are AWESOME! They are experts at what they do and exude patience when working with students. After taking classes, I Took the GMAT and felt completely prepared for my test, however, on test day I didn’t perform well at all. After a year away from studying, I decided to take the test again. After discussing it with Jay, he gave me the best advice ever! He knew my situation and understood my strong qualities, and suggested I take the GRE this time around, now that all schools accept the test. I then was able to take advantage of the free-Repeat Policy offered by Sherpa; if this policy doesn’t prove to you that Sherpa value the success of student then nothing will. Without hesitation, Jay enrolls me in the next class without question, Nafeez listed as my instructor. Already familiar with the class structure, I attended the GRE classes and Nafeez made learning easy. More importantly, he did a great job of motivating, encouraging, and supporting me throughout the entire process, which instilled the necessary confidence I needed to do well on test day. This is the best prep class hands down because this team is in place not because they have to but because the truly want to make a difference in the lives of students. If you live in the DMV area, and you’re planning on taking the GMAT or GRE, Sherpa Prep is the ONLY WAY TO GO! You will not regret this experience, and will be completely satisfied. Thanks fellas again and I tribute all my higher education success to your hard work, patience, and professionalism exhibited in your classes. If not for Sherpa I would not be preparing for this fall 13 semesters at University of Maryland. Good luck everyone in your endeavors!
