Good place, great price. Allowed me to stow my bike and shop. Better to come here for indian supplies over Indian stores in sf, which are expensive, small and lack of options, also not very convenient often

Fantastic store, with great variety of pulses, vegetable, masalas. But I really go here for the samosas.Im from Bombay and want to think I grew up eating great samosas, and lived in London, Boston, NYC, DC. But, the samosas sold at this store are the best Ive had in the Western hemisphere! This is the main reason I frequent this store weekly.

The best Indian store in Berkeley undoubtedly. They literally have everything and anything Indian you can think of under the sun. And the best part is the owner and staff, who are the most amiable people you can come across. Dont miss out on those lip smacking samosas when youre here :)

Milan is a great store, it has been serving our household food needs for the last 16 years. It has a cosmopolitan taste in food substances. One thing we can assure you as a family is that you will never regret being a regular customer of Milans. Milan caters for all your food needs!

Milan is large, and everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. Their bulk section is amazing, with great prices on all sorts of things. Theyve also got the only large jars of Marmite, and the best price on British-style Heinz baked beans you can find in the area. Not to mention the selection of movies, sweets, and delicious samosas. A neighborhood institution.

Milan is a great place to get Indian food supplies at a very reasonable price. Chutneys pickles and a lot of available Indian spices. My only gripe is that they dont carry any very hot chilli pickle. A fun place to shop.

I have shopped there three times now. I was able to find garbanzo flour, Indian coriander seed, Urud Dal, baby fava beans, large bags of basmati rice, Kashmir and hot chili powders. The packages are clean and unfaded which indicates they move fairly fast without sitting on the shelves for years. The items in packages Labeled SANTOS are warehoused locally in San Leandro. They also have a limited selection of good quality veg. Today there were tiny green chilies, okra, mustard green, curry leaves, tiny eggplant, ginger, turmeric and mangos. I could wish they were more proactively friendly and helpful; I have to press for answers, locations of items. A warm welcome and a do you need any assistancewould not hurt. Last time I bought what I thought was regular basmati rice, but at home I discovered it was pre-steamed and process somehow. How great it would have been for the clerk to have confirmed if I really wanted that weird rice. If there had been a friendly discussion then I would not have 10 lbs. of weird rice, but they dont open themselves up to friendly discussions.

Always talk to old man in shop. He gives discount. His son with beard sucks. Dont go to counter if he is there. Spend some time and go to counter for payments when old man arrives.

Good and reasonably priced Indian grocery in Berkeley. Options are limited, though! Sells just a couple of vegetables (I recommend Indian stores in Fremont for vegetables). Samosa and Jalebi are delicious here.

Just an average Indian store. The male store owner is very helpful with customer and provides better service. However, I have experienced the ladys behavior who is very rude, always angry and not helpful, it makes me feel that she hates everyone coming to the store. If you dont like to run your store, go home and rest.

Very big store and practically has everything in it from food to other type of supplies like shampoos, soaps and cooking utensils. Lots of variety and things you can buy in bulk but I dont like the staffs attitude that much and the packaging of products is not always good. Its more of an indian store run like it runs in India where theres a bit of chaos and not really clean. Also, they dont carry organic brands hence cant really trust the quality. But definitely lowest prices of products and they also have a loose section where you can buy as much as you want which others stores dont have.Prefer the Bombay Spice or Viks Chat since they are smaller but cleaner and carry organic brands.

Went here to get basic Indian groceries like dal and atta and saw tons of stuff that was expired. Old man was just trying to get people to buy anything that was on shelve for a month or so. Cash registers outdated and super slow. Only one guy on counter and there’s like 10 people in the line. Old lady super rude and always making a face like the doesn’t want you to be there. Worst Indian grocery store I have ever been to.

I had my relative shop for me for some sweets as I live in Kingsburg, CA. Shop owner promised for best ghee and material they will have for my order. I purchased about $150 of sweets. Also $2 extra was paid to have the best value sweets. Because our ceremony was not immediately, sweets were stored for 3 days. When the sweets boxes were opened after 3 days, green molds were already there making sweets unacceptable for consumption. Also, sweets those were consumable did not meet quality standard. Sweets had some other food materials added, that could be wheat flour or other flour that reduce sweet quality as well as shelf life. In my openion sweets should store for at least 5-7 days. People, please shop here cautiously.

The rudest possible store owner. Most horrible shopping experience Ive had in the last three years of my stay in the United States. DO NOT shop here unless you want to yelled at by the shop owner.I bought a frying pan from them for an exorbitant price of $16 hoping that the quality would be nice. But the handle of the pan just broke off after two weeks of use due to improper design of the screws. When I went back to the store with the grievance, the owner blatantly accused me of lying with the theory that the handle had melted and had nothing to do with bad design. I asked him to get another one of the same pans so that I can show the issue, to which he never agreed. He kept shouting at me for the store not being responsible for what happens to the items once youve bought them. In conclusion, LOW quality products, EXORBITANT prices, and EXTREMELY RUDE behavior.
