It was quick and easy and they had the tile cutter and angle grinder that I needed for my project. They also lend culinary tools like stand mixers.

This library of tools is one of my favorite places in Berkeley. Everyone that I have interacted with there has been super helpful and the selection of tools is incredible. Great for the DIY community. I have done so many home projects thanks to this library.

Amazing staff, great tool selection. Although the default check out length is only 4 days, its easy to call in to extend that period once or twice. One note: if theres a disposable part to a tool (like the belt of a sander) be prepared to buy and keep your own.Overall: A truly impressive endeavor. Great concept and incredible spot. The guys who work in there are great at answering any questions with a sense of humor. The new space is fantastic as well! Nothing but good things to say about it.

It is hard for me to capture exactly how awesome the tool library is. Everyone who works there is unfailingly nice and helpful, in addition to being knowledgable and eager to help you solve problems. The tools selection is great. The entire proposition of having a tool library to help your citys residents, not to mention cutting down on waste and needless consumerism, is brilliant - and they provide a leg up to numerous small and immigrant-run businesses, doing their part to help people pursue their American dreams. All in all, it is a gem of a institution in every way, even if the parking isnt very good.

If you like to listen to Click and Clack on NPR, the guys that work here will be just up your alley. Theyre helpful and knowledgeable, not to mention that youll never have to buy another specialized power tool again! Welcome to Berkeley - DIY socialism at its finest! Love that my tax dollars are going to a place like this!

Friendly staff. Helpful to a novice.

Ive taken out tools twice since I got a library card 2 wks ago. With the help of the staff Ive learned how to use a Skil saw and a jigsaw. Its been a tool school:) Eventhough the check out doesnt last very long (3-5 days), you can renew easily online. I plan to do alot of projects with the tool lending libraries support. Forgot to mention, this library saves the environment - less new tools manufactured, less resources taken out of our precious planet and less space wasted with stuff in your apt or house.

No power plugs for laptops! Internet a bit slow.
