A magical place that somehow keeps getting better!

This was really exciting for my sons class in 3rd grade to experience. A tour was given to show farm duties in urban land. Its harder work then I thought. Wow it was cold because its mostly outdoors of course. Workers their reminded us to thank God, trees, worms and especially farmers. So with tears of 😂 thank you all so so much for your blessings and hard work!

This is a small urban organic farm in the middle of Berkeley. The farm grows vegetables and fruits, raises chickens and goats and educates children about the importance of a clean environment. In the two hours I was there on a Hebrew school field trip we fed goats, planted kale and made pita and pesto from scratch. We learned a bunch about farming and harvesting and the digestive system of a goat. There are summer camps and volunteer opportunities. There is a Jewish theme throughout the farm but its not heavily emphasized.

My sons first-grade class had a field trip to Urban Adamah and the staff did a beautiful job teaching the kids about Urban farming and conservation. The animals are clean and happy, the space is beautiful. It was a really hot and sunny day, and they could use a LOT more shade in the (fake grass?!?) lawn area where they group the kids, but patience as the trees grow in, right? :-)

This place is absolutely magical. Love seeing Israeli style agriculture at its finest 👏👏👏

Awesome landscaping and people!

I volunteered here after moving to the Bay Area as a place to potentially find a sense of community. However, I was made to feel unwelcome after a few weeks when I experienced an implied prejudice based on my gender and sexuality. I dont think the farm had bad intentions, but ultimately this was a really disrespectful experience.I would caution others to tread carefully before getting involved.

Influenced the city to take half the blocks available street parking and turn it into a red zone causing neighbors to park further.

Ill always love this place and of course I loved my internship here. You simply must go.

We went there for Sunday 2-3:30pm volunteering activities. Great experience of sharing labor with a group of people.

Amazing Jewish Farm in the heart of Gilman.

A potent center of education and world fixing, bringing together families and communities for regular events, educational programs and more. Set right on Codornices Creek, with a great brewery and a great winery right across the street, it is ana amzing place to visit and soak up a bit of inspiration. They have volunteer days and once the farm is established are giving food ina free farm stand to the heartbreaking numbers of people on need in our community.
