I lived here for 2 years. Loved it! Maintenance staff was quick, friendly, and helpful and the apartment was spacious and very nice for the price. We moved because of work circumstances but I wish I was still living here. The sport court is a great bonus and is hard to live life without it now. The community was friendly and the location was nice and quiet. No complaints!
Lived at Sterling Heights for almost 4 years now. It’s a fantastic place to live. Friendly staff, great amenities, close to downtown Benicia. If you have an airpod stuck down your sink drain, Dan is the man for the job :)
I love Sterling Heights! I have been here 4 months and I absolutely love it. The staff is great - Mary and Javier are always awesome, and Maintenance (Dan) is great!! Super comfortable, I highly recommend moving here. Amenities have been limited only because of COVID, but gym, hot tub, pool, grill are all very clean and great to use. You can tell I like it here! Lol
Love the property, Love the staff. Javier is always friendly and helpful.Only con are the residents that patrol... Also, whomever is mad on these reviews is LYING about infestation issues. This location is great, clean, and always kind. They gave the residents free meals during Covid-19 lock down.
Ive lived all over and have moved many times. This is definitely the nicest team Ive ever worked with. We moved into one of the newly renovated apartments and couldnt be happier.
Sterling Heights is such a peaceful community to reside in. Ashley, Javier and Jesus have been the upmost kind and warming management team I’ve ever experienced in leasing offices. Our experience has been lovely here. The neighbors and community of people and 4 legged friends here are beautiful, we’ve enjoyed our life here. The units are spacious and very warm. The nature around the community is just breathe taking and pleasant. The pool and BBQ areas, which we’ve utilized many times makes for a great family or friend gathering. The small issues that have come up were always immediately taken care of either by Jesus who is amazing and just handles things right away, there have been moments where he will literally just walk over and he has assisted me the moment I share a concern. Always friendly and helpful. Javier and Ashley in the office have always been welcoming to my partner and Me and my 4 legged son. My dog literally makes it part of his walk to go greet the office staff they are great. There is free tea and coffee in the community room, which a nice perk, of your on the go and run out of coffee or milk stop by the office and grab a cup of coffee to go! We actually rented out the community room for a gathering and everyone had a blast! The office staff was very accommodating to our cultural celebration needs. They are great! Thank you Sterling Heights. Most people who live here are happy, I feel that’s a great sign to showing you that people are pleased with where they live and that energy is important in a community.
I am so glad that both my parents live in these apartments. The management does a great job of keeping it up. One of the latest improvements is the BBQ area -- its gorgeous. Thanks much...Debra
I have been living at Sterling Heights for 21 months now. The maintenance is amazing here and taken care of immediately. Have never had any problems living here at all. Love the friendly neighbors here and the staff are always friendly and available for even the smallest of concerns or questions. Truly appreciate the dog friendly atmosphere here too as I have 2 small dogs. We even have gatherings with the neighbors down at the Clubhouse. This is a safe and clean community. I greatly appreciate knowing I have a wonderful home to come home too.
I do not recommend this property at all. Office staff are nice but they cant make up for huge rent increases, amenities frequently not avail, and I paid any where from $150-160 a month on top of rent for water/sewer/trash... about $2180/mo for 2 bedroom. Nice neighbors and good location but rent increases outrageous. I highly recommend you avoid all Sequoia Properties. I believe this is usual practice for them. They value highest rent possible over resident retention and community. Theres better options out there. Good Luck!
Sterling Heights is a great community. Unfortunately, I was only able to live in the complex for one month because I had to move out of state for work. However, after explaining my situation to the management they were extremely understanding and helpful when it came to moving out. I wasnt sure if Id be able to break my lease easily, but the office staff made it extremely easy for me. I hated to leave because the community was so wonderful, quiet, and clean. It was a really wonderful place and the people were incredibly friendly and helpful. If I ever get the opportunity to move back I would do it for sure.
Zero security at apartment truck locks were drilled into. Nothing done when police and management were notified
Vehicles are getting broken into every night and the apartments wont do anything about it
These are pretty nice apartments overall. Although it is a little noisy since it is close to the freeway, the apartments are pretty soundproof! Comfortable amount of space for a reasonable price!
Living here the last three years has been wonderful! The location is perfect (10 minute walk to downtown), the units are spacious and comfy, grounds are always kept, maintenence rocks and Andrea and Karen in the leasing office are fantastic. Zero complaints.
Very clean, comfortable, and spacious apartments. Maintenance is fantastic.Amenities are wonderful. Very expensive, and continued trespassing in pool and work out areas including saunas.
Sterling Heights, Benicia CA is a very nice apartment complex. It was well maintained and the leasing agent Karen is a wonderful help as is Ashley the Manager. Our apartment was newly remodeled and very pleasant to live in. Loved the valet trash service every day. We regretted haviin group move to another city
I’ve lived here for two years, and don’t think the other reviews are really indicative of most people’s experiences. Every few months the property management goes around offering incentives for positive reviews on a variety of online sites. After living here for two years it really has to make me wonder. What are these other reviewers settling for?Maybe my expectations are too high. I pay $1800.00 a month (base + water and trash). On top of that my electric varies between $80 and $200 a month. That’s almost $2000.00 a month. For that amount of money I expect a clean, safe, secure establishment and I expect discourteous neighbors to be dealt with appropriately. What I actually got for $2000.00 was constant security issues, a rodent problem that took over a year to resolve and a druggie neighbor that is smoking so much marijuana it is making my apartment smell. When I look back at the issues that I had during my two year occupancy I truly feel that my concerns aren’t unwarranted and my expectations really aren’t that high. I’ve communicated issues clearly and it’s ultimately the management’s lack of action that has resulted in my moving.Upon giving my 30 days’ notice I was presented with a list of items that will be deducted from my deposit. Naturally my first question was how can they assume that these items will need to be deducted? They haven’t even done an inspection yet. I approached the office about it. This is clearly a hot button issue for them; they were well prepared for my question and gave me a litany of canned responses. “It’s our policy” etc. … Had I known that my deposit would be surrendered indiscriminately when I moved in, I may have opted to move somewhere else. This is likely why they waited until now to tell me. Regardless of how that plays out what was most shocking to me was how aggressive the management offices tone became when I raised this as a concern. They were approached with a question, and even though I remained pragmatic for my part in the dialogue they quickly escalated to becoming argumentative, condescending and raising their voice. I guess the “Genuine” (read phony) concern is no longer necessary when addressing soon to be former tenants. Not only would I never recommend Sterling Heights to someone. I’ll avoid all of Sequoia Equities (their parent company) in the future. Benicia is a great little town and I can see why people want to live here. But, there are several other apartment complexes to consider before Sterling Heights. I’d recommend doing a bit more research before committing to a lease here. Ask yourself if you can put up with a property management company that pretends they are going to do the right thing and then looks the other way while your property and safety is left in constant jeopardy.
Great place to live in Benicia. Apartments are new, quality of living is great and management staff is very friendly and helpful. Id recommend Sterling Heights to anyone looking for a high quality place to live in Benicia.
