Darin is honest and does the job right. He has worked on my 97 Eurovan camper doing all general maintenance, and installing lift kit, transmission cooler, and shocks. I have been pleased with how he has kept the van running great all these years!

Thompson’s Imports was highly recommended from my wife’s cousin. Darin looked over our car and performed the service needed and did an excellent job. He was very detailed on what needed to be done and most importantly where I needed not to waste my money. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants the job done right and being able to walk away feeling you got an honest deal.

If you need a shop that provides free shuttle services, car washes, and WiFi and croissants in the waiting room, this probably isnt your place. But if youre looking for a stellar import mechanic you can trust, it will be hard to find a better choice than Thompsons. Darin does great work at fair prices and is just a super nice guy. I took my Audi to Macs Radiator to find a coolant leak. They were booked out a few weeks but highly recommended Darin. Darin quickly found the leak but due to the age of the vehicle he recommended not going any further as the repairs would be far in excess of the value of the car. It is really nice to work with a skilled mechanic who you can trust.

Darin was recommended by a friend to service my late model Tacoma. Ive been burned in the past by small shop mechanics, but Darin immediately made me feel comfortable from the the first conversation on the phone. He was honest, told me the services I could postpone or avoid all together. When I called to make the first appointment, I didnt feel rushed; rather Darin took his time to answer all the questions I had. On the day of the appointment, Darin pulled out a sheet of paper with all the notes from the previous weeks conversation over the phone. Thats how you run a shop! I dropped off the truck and within a few hours got a call that all the work was complete. Upon pickup, Darin explained everything he did and answered more questions I had for him. He offered suggestions for future maintenance, not at all feeling pushy or dishonest. Very honest guy and local shop.

I have a 98 Audi A6, and it was always hard to find places that worked with foreign cars that you can trust. I have been going here for years and have always brought my car here and have never been steered wrong! The owner here does all the work so you know that you can trust that only one person has been working on your car. Which is very rare to find a company where you know that each step is being taken care of by one person which I really like as there is no lack of communication. The work is always done in a timely matter. I would recommend anyone who wants help with their foreign cars to go here as it is always a good experience.

Darin replaced a starter motor on my 2014 Honda CRV on 4/24/19. I have rarely given a 5 star rating to any company unless it is earned through perfect performance. I also agree with ALL other 5 star reviews.Darin began diagnosing the problem during my first call to him. A good sign. I requested an OEM part. His cost estimate was reasonable. Overall, I am not concerned about pricing rather want the service performed according to spec. Done right in other words. He does.Darin began work on my car even though I arrived 45 minutes before the scheduled appointment.The car is back to normal now. Darin is now assigned to maintain and repair my Honda for as long as he is in business. I keep reliable cars a LONG time LOL......BY THE WAY, some time ago I experimented using the local HONDA dealer on a few simple maintenance tasks in one appointment. Long story short I am never to return. Once and done. NOT recommended.Darin diagnoses THEN prescribes repair. He does not operate on the replacement theory of automotive repair, meaning he does not willynilly replace parts in an effort to magically find the solution like some other shops do. I take my Eurovan to Darin every year for service before camping season. He’s thorough, knowledgeable, and gets me on the road for a great price!

We had gotten an estimate from a dealership for repairs on our truck that was so high we were considering trading the truck off. We took the estimate to Thompsons and Darren put our truck up on the rack, checked each suggested repair, and showed us what did and didnt need to be done. Darren took his time and explained what each suggested repair entailed. Bottom line, we got the needed repairs and maintenance items taken care of for about a half +/- the price we were quoted by a dealership. We trust Thompsons Import Specialties to give us the straight scoop on what our rigs do and dont really need to have done.

I first came in contact with Darin at Thompson’s in the late 1980s when he replaced the engine in our VW Rabbit. Since then he has done all the maintenance on our VW camper van and two Subarus. Before we bought our first Subaru I called him and asked if he worked on them. If he didn’t, I wasn’t going to buy one. I wasn’t interested in “dating” for another mechanic. Trustworthy, skilled, he has always looked out for our best interest. I give him my highest recommendation.

I brought in my 2006 Inifinity G35 6-speed manual to Darin to take a look at the clutch and perform the 105,000 mile scheduled factory maintenance. I spend time on the G35driver forums reading up on best practices and recommendations and everything I heard from Darin was spot on. Hes precise with his words and has an engineers appreciation for understanding a machine as more than the sum of its parts. Its enjoyable to talk to someone who is passionate about his knowledge. He was able to resurface my flywheel with a local machine shop which saved on cost and he installed an excellent replacement clutch made by Exedy which I later found out has 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon. As a result of this and the 105k OEM maintenance my car is running the best it ever has :) Thumbs up!
