I have mini splits throughout the house to keep it cool during the summer months. One of them had a drain issue that I suspected was due to the fact that the outside water drain tube was not sloping down enough and that also the inside unit on the wall wasnt level so that it could drain.Two technicians came to the house where they listened to what I had to say, then they looked at the outside wall where the mini split comes through as well as the inside unit.They adjusted the outside tubes (freon, water drain, electrical) so that gravity would work better for the water to drain, then they looked at the inside unit.They first put a leveler and the unit seemed to be good, but then took the housing off and looked at the wall bracket that the unit hangs off of. That bracket was off by 1 inch (tilting in the wrong direction), so the unit could never drain properly).I could have done this, but it would have been hours of work, I didnt have the proper screw drill attachment (with cable) to unscrew what held the bracket on the wall, plus there were two techs working together.I am pleased by Silas work. They are professional, prompt, polite, and the price was reasonable.I normally maintain and clean my own mini splits, but Sila said theyd waive the visit fee if I signed up for an annual maintenance fee of $149.00. A good value when you consider your own time.

Repair person came out to inspect my unit. They informed me that my Freon was low but since my unit was old and uses an older Freon there was nothing they could do. He recommended I replace the unit and offered to give me a quote, but said it would be $10k+. I further asked him if he would at least look at the blower fan/AC coils to at least see if they were a part of the problem, but he dismissed me. Later I called a local AC repair shop who was able to refill the Freon for less than $400.The reason I previously used Sila was because the technicians would work with customers to get to the root cause of the problems. That was not the case this time around. Never using Sila again.3 week update - since having the Freon refilled, my AC heat pump has worked as advertised.

Sila was very quick in scheduling a technician to come out to respond to our A/C issue of the condensate pump being much louder than normal. Mr. William Barnes, was our technician, and he gave us a full assessment of the cause of the problem, what needed to be done to resolve it, & future maintenance recommendations. Mr. Barnes was very professional, provided us with thorough & excellent customer service, and replaced our condensate pump to resolve our A/C issue, all in the same day. The replacement was covered under our Sila Full Maintenance Contract. Thank you Sila & thank you so much Mr. Barnes!

I called Silva with an emergency. Not only did I lose cooling during an intense heatwave but my wife was at the hospital having surgery the same day. The staff of Silva understood ( Ramsay) but altered staffing to send Tony within two hours. A wonderfully pleasant young man he explained my options a d we quickly agreed on a new system. The very next morning a large crew arrived and fully installed two new systems in one day The on-site staff was pleasant courteous and highly skilled. This was the best experience I have ever had with a HVAC contractor

The annual service contract option for spring and fall inspections has kept our equipment tuned and working optimally. Preventative maintenance avoids the nasty surprises and big bills.

AC went out during a stretch of 90 degree days. Called Sila @ 12pm and they had Anthony come over by 5pm ($98 fee). No other service was able to see me the same day. Anthony was polite, professional, and took the time to explain the issues a few times until I fully understood (I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader!). He replaced my capacitor and added a hard stop (which is supposed to add life to my compressor). While I wasnt planning to spend a total of $830 today, I also wasnt planning to sweat out my work-at-home days, so it was an easy decision. He did let me know that I was going to have to replace my 25-year-old system in the near future (for $10K...ouch!!!). I appreciated his advice and leaving me with a working system 5 hours after my initial call. Thank you Sila and thank you Anthony!

SILA has been unresponsive and failed to deliver a promised HVAC system for which we already placed a $3,000 deposit. The course of dealing with them has been marked by deception and opacity.We ordered the HVAC system in early June, and its now late September, about four weeks after the 10-12 week timeline SILA promised. Whats more, SILA appeared to know about the problems with delivering the HVAC system on time, but didnt tell me until the week they told me the HVAC system would be delivered. Instead of being honest about the problems, SILAs representatives, including Deanna and Roger, kept promising to return my calls with an update on the HVAC system. When I called, they repeatedly told me that theyd check with the warehouse and then never call me back with what the warehouse had told them. Out of dozens of calls I politely placed for an update, I received one call back with no information. They were deceptive and unresponsive.In the meantime, we rented our apartment out to tenants on the premise that the A/C would be fixed shortly after they moved in, relying on the projected date of installation from SILA. So now were in danger of violating the promises we made to the tenants both orally and in our lease.Im writing this review after the last straw: SILA promised to call me specifically on Sept. 24 with an update on the HVAC system. They didnt. When I called at the end of that workday, the representative responsible for calling me had already left the office. And the person who picked up the phone had no access to the relevant information.SILA still has our $3,000. Naturally Id like it back. But Id also like an HVAC system. And until I have that money back, Im unable to source the system to another contractor. I hesitated to write the review because SILA is holding both my money and the promised future HVAC system. Im doing so because Ive run out of recourse talking directly to the company. My hope is that a proprietor or manager sees this and can address the problem honestly.

The Silo tech was courteous, professional, and took time to answer all of our questions. Our AC had gone done in the heat wave. Silo arranged for an appointment the day after our call. We would recommend and use them again.

Bob came to my place within the agreed upon timeframe. He checked my AC and said everything is in working order. He pointed out many things for me to keep an eye on. Made some really good recommendations. He checked and washed the outdoor unit. And he answered all my questions and pointed out to me the best thing to do in case anything goes wrong. He is knowledgeable, professional and courteous. That is why I always trust Sila with my home maintenance and repairs.

Bob from Sila was very thorough. We talked about the maintenance, he took photos on roof to share with me, we discussed when to replace capacitor. He advised that a complete check up would need to have night time temps at 55degrees. I have an annual maintenance contract so returning when temps higher and installing new capacitor to check unit functioning makes sense. No extra charge b/c I have plan. I’ve used Sila for installing and maintaining my high velocity AC system for 10 years. I have radiator heat and this system for AC is perfect.I’m very satisfied and today Bob provided both answers to my several questions and insight into maintenance/ future repair.

I would not recommend. Very poor workmanship and I still feel like I overpaid.I own a 4-unit building in DC and I have used Sila in the past to service (previously poorly installed) mini-split units. So when I decided to install new units into an apartment, I naturally called Sila for a bid.I got three bids and Sila came out the highest. But having used them in the past with good results, I negotiated down the install to $10,000.When the installation came, I was appalled by the quality of work. They installed the mini-split and utilities IN my very small closet, making it impossible to install and close a closet door. In the living room, one of the units was crooked. I was absolutely livid and I made sure Kevin (in sales) knew my feelings.They fixed the install, and everything was going fine. Then in December 2019, DC got rain and ice, and several outlets and lights didn’t work. I had an electrician inspect. Several outlets in my panel were wet. The electrician found water from the roof running down the condenser mini-spilt power cable; Sila didn’t properly seal the roof after the install. I had to spend $625 out of pocket to fix the roof and the electrical lines.I emailed my sales guy at Sila in early January 2020. I followed up ten days later, but still have no response.Don’t use Sila.

Our technician was incredibly kind and worked hard to identify the issue. He was thorough, and while the issue was not wholly identified, he offered some notes as to what may have happened, and upon a hard reset, observed normal operations for a good amount of time before leaving. He took every precaution, given the pandemic, and still worked hard to find a direct cause, and offered solid advice for prevention of this case next time. Will definitely use this company again.

Sila was able to diagnose and correct an issue for FREE that another HVAC company not only missed completely, but charged me $600 for a fix that failed. I wish I had called SILA sooner. I chose Sila for an existing Unico system upgrade with some return rework for sound and new supply lines for a newly-remodeled room. From research, I gathered that theyre a high-volume Unico service vendor.We agreed to a contract that would take 3 consecutive business days. Sila completed the job quoted in the initial proposal but it took 3 months, 5 visits, and I personally found and fixed the final issue myself. There were five objective mistakes. One issue was a misunderstanding between the salesman and me. Ill take the blame for that. The other four issues were purely technical. The Unico system is fairly simple but the installers forgot to install the heater component, installed the wrong motor, ordered the wrong parts and figured it out at our house, then finally set up the motor with the wrong software settings forcing it to run at full throttle. I had to frequently call the office or email them directly to attain schedule status.I escalated my concerns to Evan (GM that responds on here). He was happy to continue offering help but didnt seem to have empathy that the job was 3 months late. I felt that he saw the job as a success.As a consumer, schedule is one measurement of success and I accepted a high-priced estimate (30% over competitors) because I felt they would complete the work in one week.I trust these guys are great for servicing contracts and hot fixes when youre in a jam but if you need a larger project executed on time like a full system upgrade, Id recommend other Unico vendors in the area.1 star for execution, 1 star for teaching me a lesson.

Sila team were very professional and from the time I made the appointment to getting the estimate I felt very comfortable working with the team. Roger was on time and very professional. I needed to have shut-off valves installed and Roger worked with the building engineers to do the work in a timely manner and very clean and precise. I would definitely recommend Sila, and especially Roger for his good work.

Sila was the 3rd and final HVAC service provider that I contacted for my furnace repair. The first two companies were unable to fix the furnace and both suggested a complete furnace replacement, plus additional vent work for $4200-7000. Bob from Sila was able to resolve the problem within an hour and for a fraction of the cost. I am extremely appreciative of Bobs technical work and ability to explain what was going on. I saved thousands upon thousands of dollars thanks to Bob!

I have used Sila Heating and Air since 2015. They are responsive and prices are fair. If you purchase a Service Agreement they will do your maintenance for HVAC in Spring and Fall. If there is any work needed you will get discounts on service calls and parts and labor. I highly recommend them.

He came for AC service check, but he was also able to note a water heater leak and gave me a quote. AC He also noted that my AC unit is aged and using a lot of energy and helped connect me to someone that could quote a price on both the AC unit and water heater.

Came out within 12 hrs to review a failed compressor. Gave pricing options for repair of the existing equipment or full replacement. We selected the new unit and it was installed the next day. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with! Someone is very off. We paid them in full for a Mitsubishi mini split the day of install. Check was cashed by SILA 3 days later. I reached out to my sales person and asked for receipt. His response was print invoice and wrote check number and that’s your receipt! What?! Makes no sense. A week later they call looking for money, supposedly they don’t have check. Reach out to sales person again and explain issue. He says Rachel has Check and it is taken care of. Over 2 months pass and they are calling me again! I say that’s not my problem we paid and call our sales guy Freddy. I’m then informed he no longer works there. I wouldn’t recommend these people for anything
