I always am quickly taken care of when I call customer service support.

I went to Vern Fonk to get auto insurance because I had to have SR-22 insurance and because of their advertising I knew this was something they provided.I give them all the pertinent info and they quoted me a reasonable rate through National General insurance. The policy they quoted required a down payment of around $230. After giving them my debit card for payment the insurance agent walked me through the paperwork pointing out places to sign. Finished up and was on my way.A couple of days later I was looking at recent transactions and noticed they had pulled the $230 for the premium down payment the day I signed the paperwork. I then noticed another payment of $215 had been pulled the following day also by Vern Fonk Insurance.I thought it must have been a mistake so I called. The agent that took the call explained to me that the second payment of $215 was not in fact a mistake but the service charge for using Vern Fonk to set up insurance. I explained that while I was aware that the $230 for premium was required I was never made aware of this second charge. Even though I had been walked through the paperwork by an agent the second charge was never mentioned.The agent made it clear that in the stack of papers they pushed in front of me to sign one other the many areas of small print disclosed that the send payment would be debited from my account.I said I had no idea there was a second charge, that I felt like I was mislead by the person having me sign all these forms for not mentioning it and that I wanted to cancel the policy and get a refund.Their response was that it was my responsibility to read through the many pages of small print and that all service fees were non refundable and were earned during the time the service was completed.

Fonk me right. What great customer service. Made me a great deal thank you.

This place sucks because they dont know how to communicate and none of the insurance sales or customer service reps know how to direct you to where you need to go or help you with what you need.I just wouldnt waste my time here.Ive just had bad experiences

I have had Safeco insurance since I bought my house 35 years ago and Ive paid through an escrow account with my mortgage provider for that entire time. My agents were located in an office in Blaine. They were always kind and helpful everytime I called even when I was upset. This month I am refinancing my house and suddenly I get a letter telling me that if I dont pay my insurance bill immediately my coverage will be terminated. So I called and it turns out that my agents are now located at this office in Bellingham. The woman I talked to was not caring or concerned that I was upset. She was confrontational and rude and she accused me of yelling when I was just talking normally into my phone. It turns out that the new mortgage company informed them on March 2nd that they were taking over the mortgage and this company decided to bill me and already threaten to cancel my insurance on March 5th instead of waiting for the new mortgage company to pay it as soon as the loan went through. And this is after being a faithful customer for 35 YEARS who never even made a claim so all my payments for all those years have been profit for the insurance company. I am appalled that your agents are so rude and uncaring to your customers and, after 35 years of being a faithful customer, I am now looking for different insurance.

It is impossible to talk to an agent. Why should I give them my business if I have to talk to the insurance company directly? I want Duane Sammons back. They dont want to help you. Why should I have them when with Allstate or Farmers you have an agent who will actually take the time to help you? Im taking my business elsewhere. Just like the commercials, a joke.Goodbye Vern Fonk.

They have done good for me.

Since they switched from Duane Sammons to vern fonk I have not been able to contact anyone at the office to cancel my policy. My rates have gone up significantly with no increase in coverage. Walk a block down the road and check out Rice insurance, that is what I will be doing tomorrow.
