Im so frustrated with Eastside Family. I set up an appointment 2 weeks ago, I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the intake person. She took my insurance info. and my credit card number (before my appointment time was set). The day of our appointment, I had not received a zoom link..so I started calling and emailing everyone. 45 minutes before I received an email with paperwork to fill out. I was not able to fill it out before the appointment and they refused to meet with us. They had my payment and did not care at all if my family was in crisis. FYI - this is the first negative review I have ever given. But Im furious they wasted so much of our time.
I operate a resource program for first responders and have used Laura Halford and other counselors at Eastside Center For Family numerous times with excellent results. Laura and her staff are highly qualified to handle advanced emotional needs with ultimate care and competence.I have read recent reviews regarding billing and can say that I have not had or heard of any related issues from the countless clients I have referred; and trust me, I would have heard if there were issues. Insurance billing can be a confusing enterprise, and in my experience, most clinicians can only try to be helpful with the process. The insurance companies are usually the bottleneck in the process, which can be annoying. I highly recommend Laura and her staff for any of your mental health, including telehealth, needs.
Editing my review after talking to them and getting some things sorted out with some billing issues I had. Counseling with Laura was great and she was able to help me though some things. I would recommend them for therapy.
ECF is not just for family issues. I’m unmarried and go there for individual/group substance abuse counseling and accountability. For years now they have been offering me knowledge, compassion and discretion in a non-judgemental environment which has helped me greatly in my—so far successful—recovery journey.

My organization deals with first responders and their families is crisis and refers out for issues such as substance abuse or counseling. I have had nothing but great feedback from the people I have referred to them (over a dozen). I would highly recommend them for outpatient substance abuse services, family counseling, and trauma counseling.

Did not help my child THEN stole money out of my account twice claiming we missed appointments I NEVER MADE. Reported them for fraud and theft to my bank. Am going to take them to small claims court and reporting to licensing.
Laura is hands down one of, if not the best marital counselors I have met. She met me right where I was at, asked the tough questions of us both to get to the root of challenges. Her straightforward, no BS approach is awesome and effective. Laura has a great capacity for empathy when needed, patience where indicated and a vast knowledge of modalities. Highly recommend Laura!!! Our marriage was very much on the line and had tried many options, until finding her. Plus she is a heck of a lot of fun to talk to!!!
