I called Guidant for guidance in using the ROBS act to fund my new business. After talking to their reception counselor, I was contacted by Keith Tracy a ROBS expert! He gave me way more valuable information than I ever imagined. He gave me this information at the detriment of being able to do business with me to start my business. Long story short, he showed me a provision in the Cares Act that would enable me to fund my business without incurring debt nor the restrictions of a C Corp and the ROBS act. A great concept. Remember when you do business with a company that provides ROBS services, that they literally hold your future in their hands. If they do as they are supposed to, things are great. However, if they do not, it could lead to complete and total financial ruin and take out your lifes work, retirement, and business in one fell swoop. I think a little inter-office training about the gravity of the services that they provide, on a regular basis, would make Guidant a better company.

Guidant Financial has been a phenomenal group with which to work. They walked us through the entire process of setting up our 401k and C-Corp. We have had positive experiences with every element of working with them over the course of the past year and a half. We want to give a special shout-out to Andy in customer service for reaching out to help us walk through the filing of our form 5500 which was problematic for us as a first time filer. Guidant took very good care of me at the first. Once they had me it turned into a nightmare. Value added for my monthly record keeping/administration fee is worth maybe one monthly charge. When you have a question it is almost impossible to get a hold of a live person. You can leave a message, but if they call you back it may be a week later. Then when it comes to filing the information for the annual form 5500, the online system has never worked once in the years Ive filed. It ends up locking me out and I have to complete the process over the phone (good luck) and emailing documents. I used them a few years ago to start up a business and they were very helpful, competent and took care of everything for me, made the process very simple. Ultimately my business failed miserably and I had to close up shop in 2015, thought the nightmare was over, but a few months ago I received a frightening notice from the IRS that I had not filed my final form, completely my fault and an oversight. I am actually giving Guidant Financial zero stars. Absolutely do not use this company; you will regret it. When I signed up with them back in 2005, they seemed to know what they were doing. I never had any issues until I closed my business at the end of 2015 and began the termination of my corporations 401k plan in early February of 2016. Here it is April of 2017 and they still have not completed the process. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and any other entity I can think of.

It was the best choice I made by choosing Guidant for this complicated process. They are there for you all along and answer all the questions patiently and professionally. The ROBS was a success and I not for a moment did regret choosing Guidant.

I have been a customer for 8 years+. The inititial set up was great and the support was good for a few years. Unfortunately, they dont seem to be able to adequately support their customer base. Year end reporting has been a very slow with many issues. Their advice has been terrible, even advising me incorrectly on items that could cause IRS action. Recently, they raised the price over 10% for this poor support. I am not satisfied and would change service providers but it is difficult and expensive. Choose carefully!

I find it disheartening that so many client issues can be drowned out by people that financially benefit from working with this company. If you look at the actual customers of this place, you will see many clients are not happy. Definitely not 4 stars. 90 percent of the positive reviews of from people that are not even their clients and that they asked to post a good review. They are referral partners that just want to see a client funded. They don’t know or care about the ongoing service that is provided. Disappointed in seeing a company use this tact to cover up real issues.

No accountability and extremely poor customer service. They drum up additional fees and services, badger you about your previously approved filings with the IRS because of their own audit findings and fail to provide a solution close out the issue. Its strange the finding wasnt an issue during the original filing but became one. Does that mean their oversight and compliance service associated with the first filing was a lie, leading to non-compliance. Or are they just trying to keep transactions going to in a questionable business and service model. Who knows?

I engaged with Guidant for the process of a ROBS 401(k) formation to fund a business acquisition. Paid a substantial fee up front for the service. Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable, professional and personable.As we moved through the education/disclosure process my spouse and I concluded that it wasnt the right vehicle for our particular situation. Guidant was just as professional when we reached that decision. We never had the slightest feeling they were trying to push a product or do anything other than act in our best interest and make sure we knew exactly what we would be signing up for. As a testament to their ethical nature, they were even prompt in issuing a (very fair) partial refund of what we had paid.Their actions and the entire engagement was a success from my perspective. We learned quickly about the pros/cons of this type of financial vehicle. They definitely are a company that knew it in detail. I had done substantial research on a ROBS 401k prior to engaging Guidant but learned so much more from them.Ive never written a review for a company whos product or service I didnt ultimately buy. I feel compelled in this case because we were so well served by the engagement and education.If youre considering this type of funding vehicle I would recommend them without hesitation.

It has been 4 months and they have still not completed Form 5500 with IRS. I pay them over $1600 per year and their service is horrible. It was good the first few years. And has gotten progressively worse over the last 2 years. It’s like I have to beg them to do what I pay them for.

The advice we received from Guidant turned into a financial nightmare with the IRS. We followed the instructions to the tee, even had them talk to our investment firm to make sure we did everything right. We filed our taxes and 2 years later the IRS said the transaction did not fall within the ROBS guideline and now we owe the IRS tens of thousands of dollars. When I called Guidant they basically blew me off. What a rip off!!!

Great until you sign and pay them for set up. Dont answer phones. Once I decided to close the 401k, they would not set up an attorney meeting so I get to pay for additional months because they delayed my final attorney meeting. Poor customer service once you are committed to their programs. Update April 8 2017. Still trying to shut down the billing from them. 401k closed in January. No response to emails now and it is not worth the time to call them as there is little to no credibility in anything I have been told verbally. Getting ready to contact the BBB.

This has been one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had in setting up my business. Much of the info has been incorrect, they’ve missed my filing dates. Worst of all they completely messed up the 401k program they are supposed to admin. My actual Safe Harbor plan doesn’t look anything like or resemble the documents that they provided for us to give our employees. Their relationship with Merrrill has also been a big disappointment. Merrill sets employees up on a self directed not managed 401k investment plan, disappointing. Lastly they just took a 20% increase for this very poor support and service. I advise anyone to think twice about partnering with Guidant. They don’t seem to value their existing customers.

Hands down the best lending partners in the business. Guidant works with the majority of PickUp USAs franchise partners, and their success rate in obtaining financing for our club owners is beyond impressive. Their customer service, industry knowledge, and network of lenders/banks makes Guidant the go-to source for small business owners to obtain financing for their business.

Began with Guidant in 2012. My business ended Dec 2014 and Ive been trying to end the contract ever since (still being charged the monthly fees). The most horrific part of this whole thing was when they emailed me that the government docs were due that same day at midnight; they sent me the notice 5 pm west coast which was 8 pm east coast. I work 3rd shift and was sleeping at the time and left for work at 11 pm. When I finally saw the notice the next day and contacted them they said the Feds would be assessing a fine because I missed the deadline. The docs were due on a Monday night at midnight. Couldnt they have at least given me a heads up the Friday before so I could be on the lookout? So Im being fined because they screwed up plus they charged me an additional fee because they were late. I will never ever recommend this group and will tell anyone who asks to avoid them at all costs. Cant wait for the Feds to come knocking.

We used Guidant Financial to handle the ROBS funding of our startup. Though communication was difficult at times, setting up the program was effective. Shortly after funding the business, my rep had resigned from the company and I was handed off to another rep. That individual than left and I was forwarded to two more people who over time also left the company.As a client of their record keeping program, I find it difficult to get the support I need. Communications are limited to the 800 number and a generic group email account. I rarely talk to the same person twice, and they will tell you they cant share their phone extensions or work emails. there is no consistency in response time, and no way to hold them accountable.High employee turnover and poor communication will force us to move to another plan administrator. Too slow and inconsistent to be taken seriously.

Run away fast. This may seem like a good plan, but your monthly fee is just the beginning of the amount of work you will have to do with this inept group. It is not a deal, it is not even a good idea. Revolving door of employees that have no clue what they are doing. Seriously, run away. Screaming.

Great for setting up the ROB once that is done your on your own. Monthly administrative fees cover the most minimal of service. They don’t answer questions, give curt and overly simple instructions. When asking for further assistance the staff restates themselves over and over and spend unnecessary time defending their responses.I’m sure I am incorrect in the wording of this my question or timing as this is new to me as a small business owner. I look to the admintration firm as a service provider who can walk me through the processes.Files are stored in common system with no follow up. They have no idea your issue is not resolved until you call back to inquire on the status.In short I feel they lie to you when mistakes are made. They do not listen and have zero training or intent to walk you through steps when handeling transactions for your employees.

After looking at the top players in ROBS, we went with Guidant Financial and we couldnt be happier. They walked us through the process and kept us informed as things happened. We would recommend them to anyone.

They are very knowledgeable about corporate structure, tax advantages, etc. Ultimately, they helped me accomplish my dream of buying a company. However, I signed up for their ongoing TPA program. I have been actively trying to cancel for 3 months, and they refuse to cancel it.I believe this company practices unethical behavior as they simply will not let anyone out of their agreement. My sales rep said you can cancel at anytime, but that isnt the case. They refuse to let it cancel.

Have mostly only worked with Jordan as a resource for my clients that are considering a self-directed IRA. He has always been knowledgeable and prompt with his support.

I should have read the reviews before I engaged this company for business financing. I sold the business in September, 2015 and as of December, 2016 I am still paying them a monthly fee. I turned in my paperwork to them in March, 2016 for a necessary filing and as of today, nine months later, it still hasnt been filed. I complained three weeks ago on YELP and someone called me under the pretense of fixing this. She told me she would gather more information and call me later that day. Im still waiting! There are other companies that do this. Save yourself the aggravation of dealing with Guidant Financial.

Started out good. Over the last five years the service has gone from good to bad to worse to unbelievably horrible. Try Benetrends or anyone else they couldnt possibly be any worse than this dysfunctional outfit.

The time originally presented to me in order to complete my ROBS transaction was actually half. Ralph followed up with me every day and returned every phone and email message that day. He never missed a beat. Even after the ROBS rollover was complete and the Ralphs role was fulfilled, Ralph continued to contact me to see how my SBA loan was coming along. When I mentioned to him that some banks were passing on me, he gave me a couple different alternatives of contacts he knows in the industry. Started out Great and than a lot of mistakes were made!I used my 401K to do a Rollover to Start a business. Things were progressing nicely until Guidant forgot to create my two LLCs under my C-Corporation. This is a critical piece and not sure how it was missed. Also, one of my LLCs was opened under my first name (which is great), my second one was opened under my middle name, which is not what I wanted. I filled out all the paperwork the same.My Operating Agreement had multiple states listed in it, instead of my home state where the LLC where setup. They put inexperienced people on handling your important business documents.I would not recommend using them for this, there are other firms that can do a much better job, and for what you pay their fees are very high! This cost me about a month in getting my business up and going.

I wish I could leave zero stars. Absolutely worst experience I have ever had with any company. People wont respond to emails or calls when I have questions and when I finally get a hold of someone, he tells me to take it to my personal accountant and wont help me fill out their forms! They still havent filed my 2014 taxes and they didnt even tell me that it was not done yet!
