In our home buying process, we inspected 3 properties- all with Pacific Northwest. Not only did they do a great job with their inspections, but it was hard to find any other inspection company who would be willing to schedule an inspection as quick as Darren & Tyler, and it was a huge life-saver when it was already so hard to coordinate a time between our schedule, agent, sellers schedule during contingency periods. They literally scheduled for us for the next day. 2 of the 3 inspections were done by Tyler and 1 by Darren. We were looking at new construction/ 2 year old properties and didnt expect much, but they were able to find underlying issues which allowed us to back out. They werent fear-mongering either, and were transparent on how some issue will remain everywhere but just laid down the issues for us which assisted hugely in making a decision. They made a very sound and detailed report on the issues too, which we could use to send the sellers for fixing any remaining issues. I wish they wrote down cosmetic items too, but its strictly against their code of conduct and they inform us but wont write it down in the report. The stuff they found was mostly unobservable to the naked eye such as mold in attic, ventilation in roof, blower dryer test, sewer scope. Its not cheapest but it wasnt very expensive either compared to some of the other services in the city.On top of these, my wife had to use their services once while renting when her apartment flooded and the leasing office wouldnt allow to terminate the lease. Darren went through, conducted thorough mold tests and wrote a detailed report which allowed her to resolve the case fruitfully. Overall Id strongly recommend them, and if we require inspections again will consider them first.

I recently bought my first home (new construction) and hired Darren. Darren was a fantastic inspector all around, and went above and beyond in many areas, and brought me peace-of-mind. I found Darren through my agent because I was concerned with some construction deviations on a entrance post that I accidentally discovered and needed an on-site structural inspection. Before even going to the site, Darren looked at the pictures I took of the issue and help me understand the scope and potential fixes for the problem. He was able to squeeze the on site visit the very next day since I was closing pretty soon, and spoke with the builder in-person while he was on-site.I was very satisfied with his in-depth knowledge and hustle to look at the problem that I hired Darren for the full-inspection as well. Again, Darren was very thorough with the inspection, and patiently explained every issue that was discovered. My walk-through with the site superintendent was on the next day, and Darren provided me a quality inspection report in less than 24 hours. Even after the walk through of the house, I received advice and detailed schematics from Darren when I sent him the after-fix photos I got from the builder.All-in-all, Darren is super knowledgeable, patient, responsive, provided me with in-depth explanations of discovered issues and had great hustle to meet my tight deadlines. Did I mention the all of the paperwork for the whole process was done electronically? That saved a bunch of time also. Darren is an inspector that you can depend on.

Tyler did a fantastic job in the home inspection. He is very thorough, timely, honest and responsible. He identified black fungi/mold that was not revealed in the pre-inspection report. In addition, the inspection report he wrote is highly professional and detailed, the best inspection report Ive ever read, with lots of useful suggestions and safety tips. He answered all my questions well and provided his honest feedbacks! Im very thankful for his help. Im referring him to my friends who needs inspections. Tim and Darryl did a fantastic job on our inspection. From the get-go, they were extremely thorough, did a great job explaining technical terminology to me, and, at the end, wrote up a comprehensive report including a slew pictures. Throughout the inspection, they took me to see things they had found and pointed out each detail they were seeing. They also gave me a good idea of how serious each item was (or, if the item needed a professional assessment, let me know who to go see). I would highly recommend these professionals to anyone in need of a home inspection.

Darren from PNWIG is a very professional and detailed inspector. He has all the gears and inspected thoroughly for each perspective of the condo, even the crawl space below the condo. We especially appreciate him being able to do the inspection in a very short notice. We actually contacted his company again later for another inspection. Strong recommendation!More updates:For another inspection, we had some unpleasant experience. We paid $425 for the inspection and another $175 for the final walk though for the condo, just want to make sure everything is fine after we move in. Despite inspecting twice, they failed to identify the problem of the microwave and we only found the microwave not able to heat stuff after moving in. I contacted them later but they claimed testing whether the microwave is functioning is not part of the scope, despite the total inspection fee of $600 we have paid.So, be cautious of hiring this company since there are many things which might be not within their inspection scope, like a failed microwave.

We recently did a pre-inspection for a home and Darren and his son came out on time, greeted me and started their work right away.They were friendly and provided me very detailed inspection report.Also, explained many concerns they found onsite - very helpful.Highly recommend if you need a good detailed inspection.

Darren did XRF lead testing on a new house we purchased. The XRF gun he uses is not only the most accurate way to test for lead, but its also non-destructive (dont need to cut the paint), will tell you how much lead is there, and how many layers of paint its under -- pretty amazing technology. He tested every major surface in the house, and since the gun takes readings so fast, he was able to test lots of other places I had questions about. It turns out that the house had zero lead anywhere, and the detailed report he provided will be great to have if we ever sell. I have peace of mind knowing that my lead questions were definitively answered.

I would not use these folks for an inspection. Why? Because of the lack of respect they showed for me and my home.They inspected my home (it was on the market) for a buyer (I did not, nor would I, hire them). They arrived 10 minutes before the schedule time and actually opened my front door (no agent present)! After they left, I discovered that they had left the Jacuzzi tub full of water. Also, they left quite a mess when they inspected the crawl space, including furniture that was moved away and not put back, lots of dirt on the carpet and the bedskirt of the bed that was sitting next to the crawl space, a lamp left sitting on the bed, and other items in disarray. Finally, they did not leave a business card.I can not speak to the thoroughness or quality of their inspection, but their disrespect for my home was very disappointing, and their disregard for real estate protocol when inspecting a home were greatly lacking.I work in the real estate industry, and I know this is not an acceptable was to do business. I would never hire them to inspect a home for me or my clients.

Worked with Darren. This review is for the inspection he and PNWIG did for my home near the north end of Green Lake. I was able to get all the services I wanted in one sweep including lead screening, sewer scoping, and the full standard home inspection. Darren photographed everything, talked me through it, and provided complete documentation and recommendations for all damage, wear and tear, and code violations.I chose to go with this group for my residential home inspection because they also do commercial inspections, have several employees, are quick to respond by email and phone. Many other inspectors are not nearly as professional, being a single person business. My logic is that if they do a commercial inspection and fail they get sued, so they have to bring their A game.
