Sterling Van Lines did a superior job moving 6 pieces of furniture and 30 boxes from my home in Miami to my daughters new home in Rochester, NY. I cant thank Mark, the Sterling Van Lines driver enough. He was the most friendly, competent and efficient mover Ive ever used. He was very organized and thorough. I had his cell number and he answered all my calls. The way he carefully wrapped and labeled each piece of furniture was incredibly impressive! He had that giant moving truck impeccably organized. I so appreciate reliable, hard workers during this difficult time, especially with a labor shortage. Every single item was accounted for in NY, and he took extra time to make sure everything was delivered in its original condition. Not a scratch or dent and nothing was missing. I highly recommend Sterling Van Lines for small moves (2000 lbs or less.) And if youre lucky, youll get Mark as your driver. Id use them again for sure! Thanks Mark!

Sterling Van Lines brought delivered our family baby grand piano, set it up and made sure it was perfectly positioned in the house. The entryways and hallways werent wide buy their professional movers were able to navigate it all so perfectly they were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I would not hesitate to use them again!

Terrible service! Never believe their contract! We ordered a piano moving service with them at the end of June. The signed contract said the piano would be picked up between 6/26-7/7, however none of them showed for the pickup. It was 2 weeks after the last date when we were notified they can’t move it on time due to some nonsense reasons and had to delay the pickup for another 2 month!! There was no compensation for this delay and we had to spend more money in storing our piano for extra time. We immediately changed to another moving company and will never recommend their service to others.

Very negative experience.4 to 6 weeks actually means 4 to 6 months (6 months in my case).Provide your correct address 3 times and they’ll still attempt delivery in the wrong state.Write your phone number down correctly on multiple forms and emails, and they’ll still call the wrong number. When they can’t reach you by phone, they’ll finally email you a threat to cancel your pickup, giving only 2 hours for you to respond. Thank god I check my email.Add $1,500 dollars to whatever they quote and that’s what they’ll charge you.Expect your belongings to come damaged and for Sterling to take no responsibility.

We had a difficult situation, moving our son back to NY from his dorm in Santa Barbara. Sterling was the only one capable of getting it done, and they did it well.Most companies are brokers and scam artists, this company is a real company, they did what they said and for cheaper than we thought. I am thankful to have found them, GREAT JOB GUYS! and a big thank you to Sandie!

They are unable to actually deliver their services in timeframes they provide. Do NOT use if you need something done by a set date.Scheduled a piano move with them and told them we didnt care about arrival time, but the item needed to be moved out (picked up) by the 20th. Was told this would be fine as it was over a month away. I called them 2 weeks out as we hadnt heard anything and was told we would be contacted in the next week. Still nothing, so I called back a week before and was told that they would pick it up on the 21st. I had told them we had to have it out by the 20th as that was the move out date. Now I had to find a new mover for this item in less than a week which is both difficult and expensive. Not only did they lie about their ability to pick up the item by a specific time, they also did not inform me that it wouldnt be possible until the last minute. Recommend you use a different mover even if it is a bit more expensive.

If I can give this company a zero stars I would. I would not recommend them to anyone. They are inconsiderate and unprofessional. I had them come to my apartment to move my housing items to North Carolina. The estimated time frame was within a month and I was totally fine with that (super excited and relieved); And that was on June 17, 2021. It is now August 12, 2021 and still they have not called me in regards to updates on my housing items departure times, never called me in regards to where my items are and never bothered to call me back after leaving multiple voicemails. This is nerve-racking because I hate playing these games of cat and mouse. Again, don’t have my stuff yet, still waiting on them to call me back, redialing to try and get in contact with them, and Tony needs to know how to answer the phone correctly.

This is a horrible experience to ship my grand piano through Sterling van lines.Never trust their contract!I signed contracted 6/ 23 to ship a grand piano across the country. The contract states that the piano would be picked up 6/26 to 7/7 and delivered during 8/15 to 9/30. I received a phone call 14 days after the last day of pickup date from Sterling Van Lines, and get to know that they cannot ship my grand piano because the company cannot find a new driver at the time when a driver quits his job. They neither can offer compensation nor provide a better service when issue occurs. This is such a disappointing experience.I would never ever hire Sterling van line!

Bottom line, every single piece (16 antiques) arrived in absolutely excellent condition. Not a scratch or issue. But also important, was the full support I received throughout the process. Sandie Saxon patiently, honestly, and fully answered endless - almost daily emails with questions from me during the process, When Ernesto - the van driver and team leader called to confirm a pick up day and time between 11:30 and Noon - The truck arrived at 11:30 on the dot. Everything was wrapped carefully and well. Ernesto and David also took note of any concerns I had for more fragile pieces. Knowing I wanted to be present for the delivery across country and needed some notice to get best airfare, Ernesto kept in touch along the way. Tony in dispatch also worked with my arrival schedule. On arrival day, all arrived within the time window, again with an update from Ernesto. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending SVL. They have a knowledgeable, caring team, who have been with the company for a long time. They know what theyre doing!

Sterling Van Lines is the van line we have referred to our customers for the last 10 years. We have not received one complaint for all the moves we have referred. They are the only van line I know of that has a 400 lb minimum. Most van lines have a 2500 lb minimum. They specialize in smaller interstate moves (across state lines). So if you have a studio or a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment to move across the USA, give them a call for a quote.

I shipped an antique desk, 2 framed prints and a doll house from Philadelphia to Seattle. i cant say enough good things about Sterling; they excelled in all of the above; I would add personal attention. In the shipping a piece of the doll house fell off that was no bigger than a six inch ruler. I contacted Sterling on the very small chance that it could be found on the truck. I wish I had a good report. We shipped two items each to two locations from my fathers house after he died. We paid Sterling to pack them and ship them. One item to each location arrived broken, including an irreplaceable amethyst geode about 1-1/2 x 2 feet, which arrived completely shattered. They accepted the report of the broken lamp no problem, but refused the claim on the geode because we didnt take a picture of the box before we opened it. (I didnt take a picture of the box on the broken lamp either, but that wasnt a problem, apparently.) We had a picture of the geode before shipment, and the packing on both items was completely insufficient. We are really disappointed in the end result. I really liked the sales person who arranged everything, but the claims department are just unethical.Update 6/4/19: The claims department called to let us know they had reconsidered and we received a reasonable check within a couple of weeks.

Sterling recently moved a large Steinway grand piano cross country for me and could not have done a more professional job. The fee, while considerable, was reasonable compared with some of the other quotes I got, and the piano arrived as arranged, on time and in excellent condition. The van driver and movers were terrific.

We needed a piano moved from Florida to New Jersey on a weeks notice. Ty was helpful in setting everything up and Tony, the dispatcher, was especially helpful. Had an upright Piano moved from my brothers house in TX to CA. I checked with some other companies, but did not get a good vibe from them. They seemed to all be brokers, and using sub contracted truckers. Sterling made me feel very comfortable and they do in fact have their own trucks (truck arrived with STERLING painted on the side). Also, Sterling was cheaper! Piano arrived in excellent condition, and the movers were very careful and professional at both ends. Would use again for sure.

This was a wonderful moving experience. The most professional and knowledgeable driver and staff that we have ever worked with. They were on time for both pick up and delivery, our furniture was carefully packed and arrived in perfect condition. We would recommend them highly and will use them again.

Best price for a small load (single China Cabinet and its contents) going from Kentucky to Texas; the driver and his helper were friendly and efficient and accommodated my schedule as far as loading the item I was shipping. Communication by text and phone was very good. Only issue some would have with this small shipment service is that it takes a long time to get the item shipped and delivered (7-8 weeks from the time we signed the contract) - thats the trade off for an extremely low price ($900 from Sterling .vs. a high price of $2000 for the same service from other shippers!).

I had a few large items I needed to move between Philadelphia and Louisiana. I didnt even know shipping companies shipped just a few items. I contacted Sterling and they were great. I was able to ship my items in a few weeks. The driver that showed up was awesome. He did such a great job of safely wrapping everything. And then it arrived at its destination in great shape. You couldnt ask for anything better than that.

After moving our entire household from Indian Wells, CA to La Quinta, CAwe had two special items that we wanted sent on to our children in Denver, CO. I had boxes and a chez lounge shipped from Seattle to MA, door to door and it went very well. The first estimate I got was ridiculous and they wanted cash up front. Sterling was recommended by a local company in MA who I have worked with before so I felt comfortable. As complicated as this particular move was the folks I worked with were efficient and helpful. I could not be at the pick up point or at home when the stuff arrived so their flexibility on the delivery time, etc was important and much appreciated!

Crew showed up and insisted on spending an extra 3 hours wrapping furniture in plastic that simply did not need it - padded blankets would have been appropriate. When I refused they walked out on the job. Found a different moving company in a matter of hours that loaded all items as I requested. I wonder if they would have tried pulling that scam on a man?

Service was friendly and pretty good, but one antique mirror damaged and very poorly protected even though I had paid an extra $100 for a crate. (It was wrapped in a thin blanket that was part of our shipment and one layer of a cardboard box).Also, the planned arrival was delayed by more than 24 hours due to a mechanical breakdown—which is excusable, but the driver did not stay in touch during the delay so we missed a day of work waiting.

While it would have been better for the damage to not have occurred. But things happen, and it is the mark of a good company when they do what they can to make it right.

Used Sterling VL for a long distance move of a small number of self packed boxes and furniture, I had considered using a number of the pod-type movers but they were more expensive and I had to pack myself. Sterling was very accommodating of my situation and were helpful throughout the move. I was pleased to learn that they used their own trucks and crew unlike many small movers who contract with other companies to do the work. Cost estimate they provided was spot on and lower than the competition being based on square footage, not weight estimates. The moving crews were extremely professional. They called me more than a week before delivery to schedule the specific day and time. They also called me when they wanted to change the time. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time and did a great job placing my items where I wanted them. Nothing was damaged. All in all this was a great experience and I will definitely use them again.

Lets be honest, moving sucks. The thought of me hauling my heavy furniture downstairs was NOT appealing. I decided to hire a moving company instead. I looked up movers online and called a couple of places. Sterling was probably my third call when I decided to choose them and Im lucky I did. They gave me a quote and schedule. The movers were great! They called me before they showed up, packed some of my fragile stuff, and protected my furniture with blankets. They were in constant contact and delivery was on time. My biggest concern was my stuff arriving in the same condition as it was picked up and it was. Im hoping I wont have to move anytime soon, but if I do, I will call them.

The Movers were very friendly and very careful with our furniture and boxes. They did a great job packing our Two tvs and our sofa set too. They worked very hard and they all worked together as a team. We have a 36 Gallon Fish Tank and they made sure that it was handled with care. I shipped my business inventory from California to Florida on April 25th. I had not received my goods as of June 8th and no idea when it will be delivered. I made many calls to Sterling and must say there customer service was very poor. They never called me back even when they gave me a day and time for the call. They were no help trying to solve the problem. I had enough product to ship until the projected delivery window however, after exceeding the time line I had no product to ship and have been loosing money everyday because I have nothing to ship due to their inability to deliver.

They lost a box. Didnt contact me about it. When I contacted them I was treated in the utmost UNPROFESSIONAL manner with excuses. The guys unloading threw boxes off the truck while I watched boxes land on the street splitting apart. The main office charged me for boxing an item after specifically telling me I didnt need to box it. THIS COMPANY IS EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT, UNPROFESSIONAL, INEFFICIENT, and RECKLESS.

I just recommended them to another person who I know is going to go with them. I used them about a year or so ago to move my Dad all the way from California to Pennsylvania everything they did was exactly what they said they would do I couldnt ask for a better moving company.

Drivers were courteous and professional. Everything arrived in the same condition that it shipped.

The move went fine and nothing was broken I moved from CA to NC.

In December we moved into a retirement facility here in San Luis Obispo. Our moving company was Meathead Movers who suggested your company for out-of-state moving. We are SO PLEASED they recommended you!!Your people were superb on the pick-up end of the move.......courteous, capable, friendly, helpful..... wonderful representatives for your company!!Since we were downsizing, going from 2900 sq/ft to 900 sq/ft, we had many items of furniture including a piano, refrigerator, a heavy oriental rug, and other articles that we wanted to move to our daughters in the Chicagoland area. Delivery required two downloads in two different cities.The move went like clockwork to Chicago!! Our daughters were communicated with on a regular basis as to arrival date and time and any adjustments that needed to be made to previous date/time schedules. The communication was outstanding!Everything was delivered in exactly the same condition as when sent.....no breakage or lost items that I know of.
