We went through the process of having my son tested for ADHD and because of how poor his focus is in school. Our pediatrition prescribed him some medication. My son had some negative side effects to the medication and I called and left voicemails at the Peds office. In a pinch of last hope I actually called ths office because I had scheduled my son an upcoming apt. here. To my surprise they called me back even BEFORE our pediatrician. Although they couldnt help me it was nice to see someone pick up the phone and call me back! Due to their kindness and following up I kept that apt. for my son. We arrived and the staff was nothing but KIND and helpful! I even recalled some of the staff from when I brought my (now 11 year old) son there almost 6 years ago! My 11 year old son also really liked Dr. Aman and had told my son Westley (his brother) that he would like him too! Yes we moved to a few different rooms but honestly the change of pace was nice..and I can say for sure my little ADHD child had NO problem with it! Lol. Dr. Aman does speak quickly but if you listen you can see its due to an excessive amount of knowledge he possesses on the subject !In nearly 3 minutes he summed up our child for us. Dr. Aman has also always been honest with me (each time I brought my boys in to see him) that he likes to do as little medication as possible and I respect that! This isnt to say he wont prescribe medication because he will and has with BOTH of my boys. If it is necessary and your child needs it, he will! The staff was pleasant and Dr. Aman even had us schedule a follow up apt. a week out to make sure everything was going okay. Dr. Aman did suggest his counselor for my son in the building and honestly a 100 dollars a visit really isnt that bad! I would be more concerned if he did NOT suggest therapy for my son. Medication can help but therapy can help him with life long tools and how best to thrive with his specific disorder. If you want someone who cares about your child and their wellbeing dont hesitate to come here!

I wish i would have read these reviews before wasting our time. This place cares about money first and somewhere down the line they might care about helping kids, but thats still questionable. Tons of papers, played musical chairs in different offices and waiting areas. The nurse was super sweet, nice and caring. Receptionist seemed friendly and nice.Saw Dr. Aman for about 3 minutes, total. Couldnt get a word in, he didnt listen or ask anything. Heck, he didnt even look at my son... THE PATIENT! He has stacks of other patients papers in a very large stack on his desk. He pushed his pharmacy and his counselor on us, which again was a waste of money and time. Counselor doesnt accept health Insurance, $100 every visit, but thats because she is an intern. Oh and at the beginning when starting medication there is a lot of trial and error finding the right combination and dosage... every time i need to report weird symptoms or concerns thats another $30.00. Visiting this clinic made my son feel hopeless which is the exact opposite of how he should feel meeting with this profession. Save yourself the time and heartache... LOOK for a legit doctor! Id give this place 0 stars if i could!!!

Went to Brightstar counseling today for my daughter. Placed seemed super shady the minute I walked in. To make the payment it was on a reader from the receptions phone. Pages and pages of paperwork. Wanting to know our income and such. First we saw the nurse practitioner she was very nice and seemed to listen, but was talking and doing everything so fast. When we finally got to see the Dr. he said he uses medication as a last result, yet there are 3 pads sitting next to him. He was explaining everything so fast next thing I know he is writing her a prescription and tells us to use the pharmacy down stairs and not our own. Went down there and the medication is about 100 dollars with insurance. No thank you. I will be taking my child else where. This place just seems to be after money. There were a few family’s in the pharmacy at the same time as me with the same issue.

This place is horrible. My daughter was diagnosed with a questioner you can print off the internet. They moved us to different rooms during our appointment, it felt like we were playing musical chairs. This Dr added up the points on the questioner and wrote a prescription. We didn’t get any check out papers and when I asked for one the receptionist said they don’t do that but if I wanted a letter or medical records stating what my daughter was diagnosed with I have to pay them $50, after already spending $$ for the visit. This place is very shady. Seems like the only concern is about making money instead of the well being of the patients.

I was nervous about how the appt would go today based off reviews I found here. The office is in an older building but its not shady. I felt perfectly safe there. We were early to our appointment and they took us back before our time. We did move from room to room meeting with the NP, filling out paperwork and then to Dr. Aman but they were very nice and apologized for the musical chairs multiple times. Im a nurse, so I did not mind Dr. Amans fast talking. He seemed very knowledgeable and knew well what he was talking about (and probably says the same thing multiple times a day to families). He was nice and courteous to my daughter, spoke well of her and did not recommend medication right away.

Its like a factory. The psychiatrist, dr Aman, was rude and dismissive. The only words he spoke to my kids were abrupt commands. Be quiet, dont interrupt your mother and telling the oldest to correct his name on the form. NO compassion. NO seeming interest in helping. I will not subject my children to care any where near this doctor.

Today was my daughter’s first appointment with Dr. Aman and it was a very unpleasant experience. She is only 5 and was just discharged from a day program last week so I thought I would have seen him for more than three minutes (literally). He did not ask any questions and we didn’t get to address her suspected learning and intellectual disabilities even though the nurse practitioner said he would be able to give me a list of psychologists so we could do the testing she was referred for. He only mentioned ADD coaching I could pay out of pocket for at his office and that’s that. It was just a really impersonal experience and in all my years I have never seen a psychiatrist so cold, let alone one that specializes in pediatrics. I had hoped to get guidance mostly for the suspected learning and intellectual disabilities but instead that was not even acknowledged and we were rushed out to schedule the next appointment; I didn’t even have time to ask. I left there feeling even more perplexed and fearful than before.I’m not one to complain and I do not expect a doctor to give my daughter overgenerous preferential treatment. But I expect to spend more than three minutes with him for the first visit and at the very least address concerns especially when learning and intellectual disabilities are completely foreign territory for me and I needed guidance. Her ADHD was the last thing I was worried about since I have 23 years of experience dealing with that but that’s all the guidance he offered.

I came to Dr. Amans office for my son, Derek. Derek had all the potential, but was having issues paying attention. He is also a hyper child. From the first time I walked into Dr. Amans office I have been very well greeted and spoken to with professionalism. Despite the hour drive, I will only take my son to see Dr. Aman. He is the most kind hearted person, with exceptional experience. My son responds to him very well, and he has been doing phenomenally well. Dereks improvement is recognized by his teachers and principal at school.
