I called Davis about getting a replacement key FOB for my car. They took down the make/model information and called me back a short while later with a quote for a FOB key and also a standard key for my car. They were polite, professional, and informative during both phone calls. I ended up going a different route but would gladly use Davis for any lock needs in the future.

What great service! I went in on a Thursday and they were busy but I still received great, fast service! I needed a Mustang key cut and programmed. Cut a key was $5 and programming was $85. Worth it to have a spare. They programmed a second key for free! To top it all off, my battery died in the parking lot and 2 guys gave me a push start! Outstanding service! Highly recommended!

Someone tried to break into my truck overnight and completely destroyed the ignitions cylinder and switch. When I towed the car to the mechanic shop, I got a quote for $850 and they said it will take around 6 hours to do it. Then, I called Davis Lock & Safe and they took care of it in an hour matching my original key and it only cost $350. The staff is very experienced, friendly, & professional.Thanks guys

They did a fine job on my key fob replacement, I was not aware of this being a final sale service. When I called asking about a return, after a brief hold he told me they don’t do that, then he scoffs and laughs when I let him know about providing this info for those that might not know the policy. Then rudely hangs up. It’s not personal it’s just constructive criticism

Davis Lock & safe has been there to give me back peace of mind more than once. They replaced the key fob and the locks on my car after it was recovered from being stolen, they replaced the locks on the cabinet in my office a couple of times, and have done other various keys for us over the years. The staff is always been very knowledgeable and kind. They do great work.

I think Ive been working with these guys for 30 years! From doing new keys on houses that Ive sold for clients to safes and car keys… they have done at all. Always a very fair price and always the most professional and make a do that difficult keys like laser cut car keys. Came in to have a new key made for my flip fob on my Tacoma, the guy that helped me was quick and pleasant enough and I was out the door with a new key in about 5mins...Well that would be great if the key worked. It did not fit and would get stuck in the lock no matter how gentle I was. I took it back inside and explained the problem. The guy cut the key a little more and I was out to try it again. Still wouldnt fit.I came in a third time and he made another fine adjustment. I took it outside and once again it would not fit. Upon taking the key inside for the fourth time the clerk came out with me to the truck and insisted that I just needed more leverage to break it in. He clamped the key with some vise grips and used the extra leverage to crank the key and force it to work in my lock.Yeah it works now, but it is horribly sloppy and only works one way. I can tell this key will wear out my tumblers if I continue using it. Frankly Im not willing to risk that on my brand new truck, so I am down to my one remaining factory OEM key, which works effortlessly no matter how you insert it.Ill give em 2 stars because they tried to make it right, but wow I am disappointed considering this is a locksmith specialty shop. Using vise grips to force the lock to cover up shoddy work is NOT an acceptable solution.

I went in for a new lock that the key broke off inside. The boss was incredibly rude and not helpful. Ended up going to precision locksmith and got everything I needed for half the price. Our maintenance shop has done business with Davis for 20 years. I was very disappointed with how I was treated today. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

I cant say enough nice things about this company. I have used them for years in my personal life and my petsitting business. All the office staff are pleasant, engaging and very knowledgeable. Today (5/28/21) Sam came to my house to repair two bedroom door locks, an entry lock, and rekey locks to two French doors, all while dodging my petsitting clients with a smile on his face. He was very patient with this old lady needing to have him fix things exactly how I wanted them and explaining my options. I wouidnt use any other locksmith. You all rock!

I have used Davis Lock & Safe for a long time and have never had a complaint. I recently had to program a Prius key fob and they did a fine job, but charged me $85. OK, I guess, what do I know. Then I realize I didnt have the emergency key in case my fob stops working, so I ordered one from ebay and took it in to get it cut. I was in there 2 minutes before they closed (NONE of the 7-8 employees milling around had masks on) and they charged me $50 to cut the key!!! I asked if it was really that expensive and got a generic response that it was a security cut, so I paid and went on my way. I needed a battery charger, so I next went to Batteries Plus down the street and got what I needed. O noticed they do electronic key fobs and cut keys and asked what it cost. $55 for the fob programming (because I brought my own fob in, otherwise $35 if you buy it there) and $20 to cut the key. I feel ripped off and will go elsewhere in the future. Unfortunate.

We have used Davis Lock & Safe for all lock repairs and re-keying house locks for years. Today, they saved me! I had a deadbolt that was completely stuck and a furniture delivery that was scheduled for later in the day that had to be delivered through the door with the stuck deadbolt. Davis Lock sent someone out within an hour and the service tech was amazing! He unstuck the deadbolt, replaced the lock, and fixed the way my door hung so that I dont have to purchase a new door. This business is professional, affordable and the only business I will every use for lock issues.

Sadly, not recommended. These folk were called when a combination was forgotten. They merrily attached a very loud robot to the lock and proceeded to let it run for several days trying to pick the lock. It was a low end lock, and we later found out when we had COMPETENT locksmiths clean up the mess davis left ... it would take under 15 minutes for the technician to pick (manipulate) the lock and open it. The job turned into an expensive one since davis robot had reduced the innards of the lock to dust - and that required drilling and use of bore scope to open, as well as a complete replacement lock. Hmm... Save your money, check my other reviews to find out who did it right...And updated (#2) again! Sweet! They claim Im a shill... hmm... they really are clueless as evidenced simply by this exchange... Nope, not a locksmith, just a customer who is helping others to make an informed choice. Is this how you keep a high average review rating - harassing people who post honest but critical reviews? Cool! Works?UPDATED (#1) ON THE SAME DAY! Response from Davis: Honest, Guv, it wuznt us! - hmm.. The guys at Davis Lock & Safe are prompt, honest and answer direct questions with a direct answer. I need a lock rekeyed and extra keys made and they completed the job while I waited. On my way to Home Depot to get my door knob fixed and I saw Davis Lock and Safe and stopped in. They fixed my door knob and I was back in the car in ten minutes. Great service and very fast turnaround. I highly recommend.

They had the exact part I needed to repair an exterior door lock. The big-box stores had parts that were supposed to work, but didnt. For us normal people, theres a lot more to locks and latches than youd think and online information can be pretty useless, it seems. The next time I need something, Im going direct to a locksmith like Davis. Yeah, it costs a little more, but the fact that it comes with professional advice and a professionally-vetted inventory of products makes it well worth it.

I can’t thank Davis Lock & Safe enough for their professionalism and compassion in helping me out of a tough situation when I lost my keys recently. They didnt just come and unlock my door and make me a new key. They literally went above and beyond to help me when they saw my situation. I just moved and needed a spare key for friends to check on my pets when I travel.After doing a lot of research on key copying, Davis Lock & Safe seemed like the most reliable option. Great shop, they copied my motorcycle key and actually helped me with my sticky ignition. All they did was spray a lubricant into the key slot, but I hadnt thought of it and it really helped for the time being!

Recently, one of the staff came out to re-key and work on 4 doors, and he completed the successful task in a short time. Then today I stopped by to have key copies made. (He even gave me a free, near-empty can of lubricant!) Over the years, Ive visited a few times and always come away satisfied with how Im treated.

I asked them to re-key an ignition lock for a 1986 Saab 900. They did and charged me $85 for the service. When I took the lock to the Saab dealer for installation, the key would not stay in the lock nor would the lock work properly. A second locksmith fixed the problem for half the money. He found that the lock required 10 wafers, but only 4 were installed, rendering the lock useless. Davis said tough, you should have returned it to us, but that was not possible as the lock was many miles away. Live and learn. After nearly 40 years of being their customer, I will not return to an establishment that charges twice as much and cant fix it the first time.

Best lock smiths Ive every known. These guys seem to always be able to do anything I ask them about. Today I brought in some blank high-security keys for a Honda Odyssey. They were happy to cut my own blanks (vs trying to sell me their own expensive version) and they still guarantee their work every time. Fast, friendly, well priced, and competent. Not sure what else can be said.

I came in with about 20 keys I couldnt get cut anywhere else. They were able to duplicate all but a few of them. They were super knowledgeable and nice. Its nice to have someone that is an expert in their craft.

Just left their office...had lost the keys to my trailer hitch lock and expected to have to cut it off. A friend suggested I first try Davis (Duh! Ive used them before for small needs) I went to Davis and they were able to remove the lock within a minute or two AND advised me to go out and buy a new one instead of spending $$ with them for replacement keys, as it would be cheaper for me! To top it all off, he comped the removal of the lock, just asking that I remember them the next time I need something. YOU BET I WILL. THANKS DAVIS for your goodwill.

Very rude person on the phone, lacking customer sevice skills. I asked a simple question on a process of rekeying a new $450 vehicle ignition cylinder. (Q. To rekey & match do you take wafers off or do you replace them with new ones?) The guy flipped, he knew what we were talking about, didnt like I used the word wafers, but got loud, rude and raised his voice as he asked me questions and interrupting me as he drilled me some more, started raising his voice and also said If we have to take some out and not put them new ones back in order to get the job done, do you have a problem with that? Didnt let me answer and drilled me some more and yelled Are you questioning our process and he hung up on me.By reading other poor reviews I got the answer to my question about what they have done in the past for the same process, in another similar vehicle Ignition cylinder. They took 10 out of the 14 wafers out and left only 4 wafers in. Now I know why this person got so upset and rude at me for asking that simple question. I am glad I avoided disaster like this customer did, that would have added insult to injury.Wow!!!

Great service. I asked my wife to bring them a lock for an old desk I have and have two keys made. They discovered the lock was broken (bad tumblers). They were able to replace it with a near identical one with two keys for a very good price. Very happy with the excellent service!

I called multiple locksmiths the other day. Some said they couldnt do it. Other said I dont have time. Not even lets do this tomorrow when I have time or even lets do this next week. They just said I dont have time for this. So when I called Davis they were very helpful. I told them the possible 2 issues it could be. The gentlemen on the phone told me to go get a key code and he would make me a key first to see if it was a key issue or the ignition so he was trying to help save me money if possible and I really appreciated that. These guys are pros and as an added bonus they have the old style business ethic. They guarantee their work or they will make it right. I have yet to have anything not work correctly the first time. I have a rather old project car and while the blanks for the keys were not cheap, they were in stock. I got two sets of keys and they are flawless in function. The people working inside were polite and knowledgeable.

Great Customer Service, and Honest! Stopped in on Friday, had a couple of questions about a lock that was missing keys. I was told the prices upfront, my options to replace and cut the lock off. I ended up cutting the lock off myself. Decided to come back and purchase a new lock, after explaining how the lock would being used, several options were presented. I lost the teeny tiny screw that holds my fob together. I stopped off at Davis and told the gentleman what happened. He pulled down a container holding tiny screws. He put a screw in that was a wee bit bigger in order to hold the sides together more firmly. Perfecto! I locked my key in my car, so by VIN number i found the code and try to find who can do the key. I have called 4 companies, the price for key was from 60$ to 125$ without any guaranty . Called because the combination had failed on a 60+ year old lock box. Told to bring it in, theyd crack it for $70. Brought it in. Lance opened it within 60 seconds while I watched. Then offered to waive the fee if I wrote a good review. Here it is: Ive used Davis many times over the years. Theyve always been friendly, responsive and effective. Cant ask for more! And Id have paid a lot more to get into that lock box.

Duplicating a key is apparently very simple(for older cars at least). Needed a copy so I went in very close to the closing time. It took all of 3-5 minutes; I handed them a five dollar bill and I was out the door with a spare key. Quick service and plenty of staff around to help.

I do not write many online reviews but Davis Lock & Safe is always exceptional. They are professional and patient while providing quality work at reasonable prices. I have used them several times over the years but most recently they provided a replacement mailbox lock at half the price the Post Office and none of the fuss.

I called a few places and called Davis Lock and Safe.This was the only place that was willing to give me a set price to Re-key my car that was stuck in my driveway. (Lost my only key).They were a few dollars more expensive than the others. ($15 more). I paid $175Bill arrived about 12:30. About 1 hour after I called.With some technical difficulties, and just not giving up, he ended up staying until 5pm.He STILL only charged me $175. A promise is a promise.Thats what we quoted he said.I got 2 extra keys for no charge.Bill was great and very friendly. Thanks Bill!

I have been a customer of Davis Lock and Safe for many years. In 1997 I moved into a new home with a lot of exterior doors and had Davius come out to the site and re-key all of the locks, which they did quickly and for a great price. More recently, I needed keys/alarm fobs programmed for my 2013 Ford Truck. Lance suggested a few things like non-alarm fob (cheaper) security keys for access and start and multiple security keys in case I lost another one. I approached Davis again a few weeks ago when all keys to my child’s car were mysteriously lost. Lance recommended that I simply get the key code from the dealer and then quoted me an excellent price to provide new security keys (with programming) if I could get the car to Davis and alternatively if Davis had to come to the car. Lance even “lent” me a key blank (no charge) in case the dealer *had* to cut a key. Providing flexible cost options is a signature sign of excellent customer service. Davis’ folks are friendly and helpful. I recommend them without reservation.

Very knowledge, fair prices, and great service. While you might find a cheaper equipment alternative, often equipment can be fixed/adjusted for far less. I saved $45 today on a tumbler that just needed a small part. Out the door for only $15. They really know what they are doing at Davis.

I had a pair of obsolete deadbolts that were not working. I walked in to Davis, they found me the obsolete repair part I needed, told me how to make the fix, and even gave me a couple hints. When I asked what I owed him, he wished me a Happy Thanksgiving.

These boys are the greatest!!! Lost a remote key to my daughters RAV4 and couldnt get into the car. Doug came to the house, opened the car and made a new master key. Needed a remote key, so they special ordered one for me. When it came in, they were able to program that key as well to the car. Well, guess what? Found the original remote key and it had been disabled. Doug came to the rescue, again, and reprogrammed the original remote key. These guys take care of you and know what service is! They hung in there with me during this whole ordeal. To say Im happy is an understatement. These guys ROCK!!!

I went to the large yellow building just to get a basic key made for my house. It was quick and the service was pretty good. I would recommend getting key copies made here instead of the quick machines at Fred Meyer or Safeway. They do a much better job cutting it correctly. The quick key machines produce key that only work for a couple of months. What a waste, especially if youre paying the same price at Davis. Hey, and theres a Cash N Carry next door if you need to shop. :)

I want to start this review by saying I do not usually write reviews, but this place was so amazing that I absolutely had to. This place is amazing! Very friendly, helpful, and fast service. My key got caught in the ignition and after calling multiple car service places someone finally recommended Davis Lock and Safe. They spent a considerable amount of time working on my key and ignition, and right when we thought the problem was fixed, the workers discovered that I’d have to go to a mechanic to fix my car, as it was a car problem rather than key problem. Despite spending time and labor working on my key and ignition, Lance was kind enough not to charge me a service fee! He also showed me what was actually wrong so that I’d have an easier time telling the mechanic with what my car needed. While I was waiting for my key to be fixed, I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently multiple people were helped with friendly service by the Davis Lock and Safe team. These workers are legit locksmiths and are not looking to scam you out of any money. I will definitely be back with any lock troubles I might have in the future.

If you want it done right, this is the place to go. My tenant lost her mail key and I went to Home Depot, Ace etc. after 4 tries and 4 keys that did not work, I tried Davis Lock & Safe. I was in and out in moments, treated extremely well. And best of all they made a key that worked. I will return.

I have always used Davis Lock & Safe for all my lock, key, and safe needs. Their customer service and small business feel makes you feel taken care of. Recently I had one broken key left to a tool box. It was difficult to make a copy because it was from China but they didnt give up. We had to try a few methods but eventually I had 4 new copies and wasnt charged for my subsequent visits to resolve my issues. I really appreciate the time they took to guide me through the process and will continue to frequent their business whenever necessary.

OMG. These guys are awesome. I brought in a Mercedes lock which they admitted wasnt their strength. They figured it out and fixed the tumbler within an hour. I have no idea how they did it since the key was not turning in the tumbler to remove it. The best experience Ive ever had with a locksmith. Highly recommend!!!

Ordered some key fobs and blank keys online. They cut those blanks I bought online and they did not work real well. They said no worries, pulled out better quality keys from their stock, cut them and they worked great. Gave me the $10 credit from cutting the two substandard ones I bought online. Went out to car to make sure they worked. For a $10 job they really put in a lot of extra time and care. Highly advise using this shop.

This is the only place I go to get a new key done. I do this for customers and Ill tell them you can get the key made but if Im going to do it I will go to Davis Lock as I dont want to make two trips. Ive had them re-key two houses and again everything perfect.

Before I called these guys I called several other locksmiths as my jeep door locks would hardly work anymore. Was quoted anywhere from $85 and up per door and kept getting callbacks to see if I was ready for to get this work done. Called this place, spoke with the owner and he suggested I come by and theyd look at it and see if they couldnt get it working by cleaning it up and cutting a new key. Also told me WD and lithium sprays dont work in OR. He cleaned up and lubricated all 3 lock cylinders with silicone, cut 2 keys (which he modified to work better) and sold me a can of silicon all for about $15. This place is honest and decent and I would highly recommend them!

Davis lock has amazing employees and gives amazing customers service. Ive gone in there 2 times and the employee lance that helped me was quick, efficient and very helpful with what i needed. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

I brought in a broken motorcycle key which broke off in a lock. They made me a new key within 5 minutes and barely charged me anything. These guys are the best!

I went to Davis Lock and Safe to get a replacement key for a ski rack on my Xterra. The folks at Davis went above and beyond. They found a broken key in one of he locks and removed it for free, they also gave me a spare key for free. They were very fast, and professional. I recommend them.
