The first time I had Hargray, I had zero issues the speed was great. This time around, I cant even stay connected to my internet. It will randomly turn off and kick me from whatever I am doing, whether that be gaming, streaming, browsing, etc. Extremely disappointing that I have to switch back to Boingo, a service that has also always been terrible, but at least I can stay connected to the internet.

I know some people like to “bash” the cable companies. I had to transfer service. When the technician arrived on a holiday weekend Friday, he discovered that my line needed to be spliced. I couldn’t get on their schedule for Sat. but they sent 2 different technicians out on Sunday to try to resolve the problem, which I consider above and beyond. A tech was finally able to resolve the problem on the Tues. after the holiday. They didn’t create the problem, my line had been cut in 4 different places but they did their utmost to help me until the problem was finally resolved. That’s all anyone could ask for. I just wanted to give a shout out to all the Hargray folks in Beaufort and Hilton Head, both who answered my calls and who responded, for their patience, dogged determination and help!

My new Hargray internet has to be unplugged 3-4 times a day to reboot it. I’ve been told I need to call again when it’s out, but I don’t have time to call or it’s night and working on internet is last thing I want to do, be on phone yet again, so I just plug it in. It is faster than century link, thankfully. It will go out when I have time & energy to work w/ someone. It did this at installation also, so just a little frustrated.

This branch is rude and highly incompetent. Very sad as they used to be incredibly cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable. I have been dealing with Hargray for quite a few years now and transferred service multiple times. Never had an issue before but here I am typing this review through my phones internet. If you need to reactivate or transfer service, don’t waste your time visiting the branch as you will be left disappointed. I hate the fact that I have to give them another cent but unfortunately it seems like they sacrificed customer care for commercial contracts (ie apartment complexes). Not to mention the falsely advertised speeds and unannounced raise of rates

I’ve lived in third world countries and hargray is the worst ISP I’ve ever had. They’re charging me double their advertised rate for 1/10th of the speed I’m supposed to have. When I call them they don’t take it as a valid internet speed test unless you use the one on their website and if I run more than one test my speed magically jumps up to the speed I’m supposed to have. They are blatantly throttling user speeds and claiming that I’m having issues because of my smart lights being connected to the wifi. If you have an option use ANY other ISP.

Horrible internet. It randomly doesnt work and goes out and you cant get ahold of anyone because it is usually on a Sunday when it goes out. None of the numbers they give you to call work it may ring once then gives you a busy signal. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL SERVICE!!!

Sadly they are the only provider and the internet Keeps going in and out. We are paying so much for the crappiest internet. What’s worst is my daughter has online school and the internet wants to act up when she’s taking her exams or doing labs. She has to email her professors on a regular because the internet is always messing with her. I wish I could give this negative stars.

The worse cable company ever. I have to call at least once or twice a month because the internet goes out. They show down the service or it just goes out. When you call them they want to upgrade you for $10 more. Why would I want to upgrade when the service I have now barely works.

Jacked our prices up 4 times in one year without telling us and the WiFi never works. We are now paying over $100 for just WiFi and our last bill was $150 because we have autopay and even though the money was available for them to take out for our bill they never did and we had to call to have it paid. This happened two months in a row. We were then charged a late fee even though it was the company’s fault and charged a $50 reconnecting fee even though our service was never disconnected. Sitting on the phone fighting with the company does absolutely nothing. Unfortunately it is the only service provider in our area so we have no other choice.

I wanted to take a moment to share our excellent experience with Hargray in Beaufort, SC. We were working on getting my elderly grandmother new phone and internet service. Due to the pandemic, we communicated completely over the phone. Our service representative Ms. Della went above and beyond in assisting us throughout the process. The level of professionalism and pure care she delivered should be rewarded.In addition, our service tech Nick showed up early and was polite and very professional. He took the time to explain everything in detail, and was extremely knowledgeable about their products.Once again, I cant recommend Ms. Della and Nick enough. Thank you for making the transition so smooth to Hargray!

Been dealing with a high ping issue (60-100ms) for over two months now. Been told that Im only getting half of what Ive been paying for by several techs. Apparently my issue has been sent to cable maint. But I get no word on how long it might take. Ive had hargray for years and never had an issue until recently. Im giving a one star review because it feels like its not even a concern as long as Im paying my bill.

I have yet to even have my service set up and already am having issues with this provider. We’re new to the area, and this is the only option in our area, I called to have services set up, got told that someone would call to schedule an appointment in 24 hrs. That never happened. I called two days later, it was never input, I finally got a scheduled day and time frame. The day my service is supposed to be input they tell me they can’t do it because the order is written wrong and it’s an hour after my services should be put in. If I were living else where with xfinity this would not happen, or they would waive the installation fee. Hargray did nothing and the personnel are very unprofessional. Calling an hour after the installation period is absolutely unacceptable!

I had a 3 month corporate lease with a Port Royal Apt complex. The modem for this apartment was supplied and already in the apartment....translation I didn’t receive or own it. Upon final bill the HARGRAY/NASA Mission Control workers in the billing department charged me a modem fee for the modem I didn’t own, a late fee for the modem I didn’t own or return and a $99.00 contract cancellation fee for not staying on contract for a year....and yes I find this out because I get a call from a collection company. Brianna G. there is a reason you folks have a Google rating of 2.1 out of 5. Take solace (that means comfort) in knowing Google will not allow a rating below 1 star.

Internet service has been down every night for 6 days now. Only at night. Their solution was to change my router, they said mine was old (3 years).Strange solution because during the day we had service. Not the 100Mbps we pay for, but usable.So what? the router goes to sleep at night because it is old?AnywayTechnician came today at 8:15am, changed the router, speed very high at 100Mbps (never had it before this high).Come back from work at 9:30pm and guess what? No service again.Spent 50 minutes on the phone listening to music, then finally somebody picks up.Checked from his end, he says “no outages in your area, go to the office and change the router”.It is new and it was working!why they don’t send somebody to check THEIR line ?his answer “our technicians are busy, we can come next week maybe”.What a bunch of BS

New to town. Call to set up internet.Inordinate amount of time spent over two days to connect and turn on WiFi. 1pm to 4:30pm day one. Day two said they would be here at 4:30pm. It’s 6:30pm and they’re still not here.Then you read the reviews... and realize your situation is not unique. This company stays in business by virtue of its control over the local market share, and not anything to do with their quality product or service. Complain to the city council, and continue to bash their reviews here and with the Better Business Bureau. Get Hargray out of Beaufort in favor of a company that will deliver as promised.Update: they showed up at 6:44pm, and the problem remains on the Hargray side. Employee walked through the door, apologized for being held up at another job, connected his computer, and responded that the Hargray side of the house still has not fixed the glitch. That is now 6 hours and 15 minutes of my time that I have given Hargray, and I have no internet.There are not words to describe how unsatisfactory this is. I will say, the tech reps who have been out to do the labor have been courteous and professional. What frustrates me is after all their work, it is an error on the “other side”. The workers are visually frustrated and embarrassed.

Not sure why my internet connection is cut off at least once a month. Payments are on auto-pay. High speed internet is the only service I require from Hargray to complete my school work, however I cant even do that.

Hargray has been nothing but a headache. It is way over priced and charge a hefty installation fee. The connection is not good and goes in and out. Paying for an increased plan is a scam but cause it’s the same poor quality regardless. When I called to lessen my plan to try and save money I asked for the cheapest plan they had to offer and insisted that the cheapest plan was $79 per month. I finially called to cancel and only then did they offer me a plan for $24.99 per month. Still canceled because of terrible service. They then charged me a $99 cancellation fee that I was unaware of and charged me an additional $106 for not returning the box to the store. They never told me I had to. Save yourself the trouble and do not give this company your business. Guarantee the only positive reviews for this company are employees that they are giving bonuses to.

They randomly got rid of multiple common and popular channels without warning customers. They said they do not plan to get the channels back. Would not recommend as they could possibly remove more channels and I’m sure the prices won’t drop with the reduction in channels to choose from.

Hargray has terrible service. They will provide you live HBO, Showtime, and other channels. But refuse to offer you what every other provider has, which is access to streamed content, HBO GO etc. The only option you have with Hargray is to pay them for live content, pay them for a DVR and watch what is live and what you record. Do you want access to old shows or old content not currently airing this very day? TOO BAD! That is their response.

Year after year I have talked to a customer service rep and had my price lowered just to have it back at the same price two months later. I have seen a $40+ increase in the last year. This has got to stop! You are pricing most of us right out of cable! Your internet fees are much higher than other states, for example the state I previously lived in provides 300Mbs for the same price that we pay for 50Mbs. Just a suggestion but maybe you could provide a channel lineup between basic and digital elite, one which would not have any sports channels. The fees for the sports channels are just too much for those of us who do not watch sports but want channels that are not in the basic lineup, e.g., Discovery, MotorTrend, etc.

I was FORCED to give up my previous provider and got HARGRAY when I moved into these Apartments. the internet/wifi is straight garbage. customer service reps lies. Im paying the same amount that I was paying my previous provider, which I had 3 tvs 3 phones and also 3 lap tops and NEVER had a slow connection, never had a upload nor downloading issue. I now have just 1 laptop and a PS4 connected and its worse than dial up. DO NOT GET HARGRAY ANYTHING..STRAIGHT TRASH!!!

Poor customer service...we had a cable line lying across our yard for 4 months. They finally came & either buried it or repaired the old connection but left yellow flags marking the gas line. Ive now called twice about whether or not we can remove the flags. Also we were able to tune in HD channels on our tvs now the channels are scrambled. Looking for another option

My husband is military so we live on Laurel Bay Housing. We pay $60 a month for the WORST service!!Our internet is always interrupted throughout the day for several minutes, and I always seem to get an email every week saying they will be doing maintenance at night.Ive been told by a COMCAST TECHNICIAN that if I went with them that Id only get about 15mbps, so Hargray was our only option!!I can barely load Netflix without the signal being distributed.Their internet service in my particular area SUCKS!!!!I miss Spectrum!!

Terrible service for the price, they have the monopoly for cable internet in most places in Beaufort and they know it. They only offer IPv4 apparently, and the internet goes out pretty much all the time. If you can get anything else, get it, unless its century link, at least Hargray is better than them, but thats not saying much.

If you have any other option available, take that over Hargray. Ive had 6 ISPs over 5 states, hands down this is the worst.When I signed up for their internet, because they are my only option, I received four different prices for the same service from four different people over a two day period. Apparently it is their policy to attempt to get you to pay the highest possible price for a service until, and only offer you currently running promotions if you seek them out. After another week of speaking with various managers, I was able to sign up for internet with the promotion price that a few of their representatives told me didnt exist.After a few months of having their service now, it is awful, constantly lags in speed, and if my phone tries to make calls over wifi, they drop nearly every time.

Everything was fine for the first 2 months then my internet stopped working so I called 3 times never heard back from them, so I tried sending a email from my phone finally got a response telling me to email someone else so I did, it has now been 2 weeks and still absolutely no reply or phone call back.

Every 10 mins the service pauses while your watching television, so now you just missed about 10 seconds of detail. If there is a power outtage or even if the lights flicker and comes back on it takes over 20 mins to reboot we have no problem with the customer service its just that once connection freezes and the power goes out its a problem.

We have been stuck with hargray for almost 4 years now because it is the only option where we live. Every year my price is increased and they could give a care less if youve been a loyal customer. Not to mention we pay for the worst internet service, not worth the price at all. Streaming is pretty much a no go. We pay way too much money to have such crappy service. Ugh. Subpar overpriced cable/internet service. Customer service is hit or miss...usually miss. They obviously have no clue what they are doing since they just had to complete an audit and remove channels people were getting that shouldnt have been AND adding channels they should have. After two years (!!) was thinking one of my favorite channels was included with our package. It was deleted overnight:(. Something as basic as The Destination channel well, actually many basic channels they want to offer as add-on bundles. Its so ridiculous. Im shopping around now.**Update 4/9/2019** We miss things about Beaufort but we were so happy to get rid of Hargray! Now that we are in FL and have options, I realize even more how truly bad their service and customer service was.**

Nothing about my dealing with Hargrays Customer Service has been positive! Alexis who claims to be 1 of 2 in office in Beaufort S.C. has left me actively seeking a new Cable/Internet Service provider with trained CS and professionalism! I receive a call back this morning after paying my bill online and not seeing it reflected. First it was explained explained payment was received but not showing up online. Of course this I know because Hargray payment deducted from bank account. All the reason for my urgency in trying to contact Hargray by phone (you already know unsuccessful). I emailed.Instead of call being SHORT and SWEET I am told by Alexis I would be receiving an extension(1of 4 allotted for the year). My question, Why would I need an extension since my bill is paid? This Alexis person states my service will be interrupted without extension...only 2 people in her office...at least they called me...All her unnecessary from mouth or a** comments after the call should have ENDED were UNPROFESSIONAL and UNNECESSARY! Alexis aka Rudeness ended the call (or so I thought) with Have an Awesome Day. I call out to a family member and coworker to speak of this poor experience and to my Horror Alexis starts to TALK AGAIN! She even repeated her name 3 more times. Im still unclear on her point except to solidify Hargrays 1 star rating!WhO needs this on a MONDAY MORNING AFTER DRIVING A SCHOOL BUS FULL OF CHILDREN? The children definitely prevailed with being polite and courteous!

I’m changing my review, this is for all future hargray costumers! We lived in SC for 5 years and we loved it there. We loved everything about it except hargray! They turned out lives into a nightmare! After we sold our house and moved we had paid all bills, except that hargray charged us even though we canceled! They never sent us the bill, never contacted us, now it’s been 3 months since we left and they sent us a collect pay for a time we weren’t even there!! Right before we left we went to their office and returned their modem and made sure we didn’t owe them anything! I can’t believe this now!!!! Beaufort and port royal need to go to city based internet paid for via taxes. This company takes business practices straight out of comcasts playbook. They literally do not care about your problems simply because they know you have no choice. Google needs to add negative stars so I can show them how I really feel.
