I rented a smoke-free car. It reeked of smoke which was confirmed by 2 Enterprise staff. They did not offer a replacement. The car continued to stink during the rental. Is this normal with car rentals these days?UPDATE: Enterprise wants my info to look into my reported problem.My response to Enterprise: go to the location that rents smoky cars.Rental# 46PF4G. See if the black Chevy Malibu is still there. Check the other cars. Smell for yourself.
I paid more than I’m comfortable paying for this rental ( prices have gone way up since the start of Covid 2020). But the car was new and was told on the phone when reserving that choices were next to none and this was one of the last, if not the last available. It was practically new so I figured at least we had good odds for a trouble free trip, which turned out to be true except for the low tire pressure light showed on the first leg of the trip, I’m guessing because of the outside temperature went to the mid 90’s. When I clicked through the tire pressure monitors, the tires ranged from 38lbs. to 23lbs. That and when I picked up the car at 4:45pm the agent told me to be sure and get it back before closing on the return date in order to get the quoted Day rates. I made it back after a long day on the road at 5:25pm and they added $25 to my total for a late return! Even though I left extra fuel in the tank I had pre purchased from them. Allowed another option, next time I might go elsewhere🤔
I have never had any issues with Enterprise cars. However, this time is different. The car was rented through an insurance company as I was hit by another person. Got in the car and it was filthy. There was part of a fingernail on the passenger seat. The windshield was so dirty that I could see water marks on the inside where the water drained down the window. The back seat and compartments were gross. There was a sanitizing wipe in the console as a ‘gift’. I wiped the steering wheel and it came out dark brown with dirt. The trunk had not been swept. The dirt and streaks on the dashboard area where all the radio and camera action is was so bad that I couldn’t even see what it was reading. I voiced my concerns with the local office. Was told I would be issued a credit due to the dirtiness but I guess that’s not going to happen. With the fleet being so minimal, you would think they could spend more time detailing and truly cleaning the vehicles...more so now with the virus. Every time I got done driving I hurried up inside to scrub my hands. I have to wonder if the car was even sanitized
Walked in looking to get a truck for the weekend. They had one available that day to my surprise given the shortages everywhere. Rented that day, was able to get done what I needed and enjoy my weekend.
I needed a car quickly because my broke down unexpectedly. I wanted something quick to get some projects done. I asked for an economy car but all they had was an SUV. They gave me the SUV at no extra charge. The customer service was excellent.
I recently rented a vehicle from Enterprise, I actually rent from this Enterprise Location 2-3 times a year and its been a pleasure. I had a small problem the last time I rented a vehicle this was last week. I called and spoke with Lake and he was very very polite and kind and did everything he could to fix the situation. Thank You Again Lake and I will continue renting from Enterprise Rent-A-Car of Beaufort, SC... If you rent from here I highly suggest asking for Lake because I can GUARANTEE he will do right by you. thank you again for your professionalism ! Got a rental car while my truck was being fixed. Courteous service! They met me at the place I was getting my vehicle fixed and took me over to their office to finish paperwork! It was a cute car, but not really my style! Only complaint was when I turned on the heat, it smelled like cigarette smoke! Courteous service!

Wish there was a negative star. My wifes car got smashed. Insurance called Enterprise. However, they couldnt bring her the car because of COVID they say. BUT they can bring it to the body shop but not to her. So my wife remained stranded in a parking lot. Will NEVER do business with Enterprise Rental again. The local manager just parroted that my supervisor said we cant. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Unfortunately, I was involved in a minor fender bender. Fortunately the other driver was nice, took full responsibility, and their insurance made the whole process super easy. One of the easy things: they got me a rental from Enterprise while my car was being repaired. The rental was super clean, and the rental company was super nice by meeting me at the repair shop when I took my car in so that I could drive the rental away. A few days look when my repairs were complete, the process was equally simple in reverse: I drove to the repair shop, handed the rental car keys to the Enterprise agent who was there to pick it up and drove my car home. Simple, as it should be... :-) Very pleased!
Rented a pickup to move a couch. Enterprise provided me with a nice Dodge Ram which I was very happy with. It was not super clean upon pickup, as the windshield was full of insect matter. (Love Bugs) Other than that, I am very satisfied. Pickup was awesome. Should have had it sparking clean. I cleaned it throughly and returned it in better condition than I received it.
Insurance company made reservations in advance for a large SUV comparable to Lincoln Navigator. The day I arrived for rental, I was provided with a small Jeep Compass. The sales guy Jason replied, Its only for two days, and thats all I have. This was not what was reserved. The vehicle was entirely too small.
The customer service I received was impeccable. McKenzie was courteous, and professional. She made sure to explain and offer all the options I had during my rental duration. She called me back when she had new information about the my auto insurance clain even before my Insurance Co. called. I greatly appreciated her help and expertise. Especially considering my personal vehicle was totaled. McKenzie even connected me to Enterprise Car Sales, who ended up calling me the same day after she made the referral. Once I was called by the Car Sales the professionalism continued. I was thoroughly impressed with their car buying process. It was completely no nonsense and transparent. I am completely satisfied with my experience at Enterprise.

My truck is in the shop so I had the option to rent a car. The people at Enterprise were very nice, fast and efficient. It took about five minutes to do the paperwork. I was early picking up my car so I had to wait about ten minutes for my car to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. First class experience!
Emerald Club Member. I was flying into a small airport without a car counter.I figured what the hey, Ill book at the closest Enterprise and they can Pick Me Up. When I called to arrange the pickup they told me the car would be waiting for me at the airport.We landed and I went to get my Volkswagon Jetta or Similar and imagine my surprise when instead I had a BMW 330i waiting for me! The car was awesome although we did suffer a flat tire and unfortunately the BMW does not come with a spare. Called Enterprise Road Side and they came and got the car (though not us). The next day there was a new tire and no extra charges on my account.Yeah, Im sold!

After making an online reservation and pre-paying, I was told the only vehicle they had in compact was down for maintenance and I had to pay for an upgrade. The upgrade should have cost 8 extra dollars a day, 30 for a compact, 38 for the rav4, instead I was charged 64.43 per day, AND I was charged an extra day despite returning the car a half hour early! I was also told to expect a $250 hold on my card, which turned out to be the cost of the overcharges they put on my bill. I tried to call them to get an explanation, and they couldnt identify the problem. Im stuck disputing the charges with my credit card company. Dont go here. EVER!

This was my second experience using Enterprise in Beaufort, and both times everything went VERY smoothly! The employees are super helpful and friendly (even when I was crabby!). I wouldnt hesitate to use them again in the future.

Im reviewing Enterprise as a whole, not just this specific location. Ive used Enterprise for the last 20 years or more. Ive had wonderful results up until recently. All my travel is in personal, private aircraft so I will usually arrive at a small, general aviation airport that Enterprise serves by providing car delivery and pickup. A trip this past summer to Colorado and a trip this month to South Carolina both resulted in cars that werent available when originally promised and rates that were originally misrepresented. My experience with the on-line reservation system was terrible as well. Im seriously considering moving to a different company for future car rental needs.

They have been allowing me to keep renting the same vehicle due me losing my car, because it got totalled in a car wreck. Also they decreased the price for me! Usually under 25 its expensive, but i guess since i had the vehicle so long and they allow me to keep using the vehicle until i get my own! Beyond great customer service. Thank you.

Just an awful experience, I could not leave my car there and they made me drive my car to Lowes and park it in the lot there. The customer service person had to follow me and then drive me back to finish the transaction. The parking lot here is not paved and is primarily dirt so it had mud and standing water that you had to navigate around to get to the car, which was dirt because of the mud....This location needs to clean up its act, move the location or close..In all fairness the customer service was very good, the facility was not...

We had a bit complicated situation when I needed a large SUV seating 7 for 1 day and my son needed the same type for 4 days and we had points we wanted to use. The people at Beaufort made it all work out smoothly, especially when, between me and my son, we called them several times. They were never short with us and always courteous. It was like doing business with a local shop.
There was only one person working the counter. I waited for 10-12.min before he finally asked if there any people just dropping off. He instructed us to leave our keys with him, and if there were any issues. I checked my credit card account a short time later, and everything was in order. I appreciate him expediting processes where he could to help improve customer satisfaction and time efficiency. I am giving 4 stars only because of short staffing.
Ive been renting cars from Enterprise on a regular basis for the past 5 months. I can truly say that they have been accommodating and helpful. The staff is professional and courteous at the Beaufort, SC office. I will continue to use their services.
I had a very successful experience renting a Enterprise car on a trip to Kentucky. Staff were very helpful & friendly while setup my 3 day trip. Car was clean when I picked the car to start my trip. Very satisfied with the most recent of many rental trips with Enterprise rental cars.
Friendly staff but no instructions on car that was rented. No receipt or email had to request.
The car I received in Beaufort, SC smelled, was dirty (inside and out) and had only 1/4 tank of gas. When I said it smelled like someone had a bushel of crabs in it before I got in, the representative said it may have smelled because it had been sitting there all day..so thats leads me to ask why was it dirty and low on gas? They had all day to gas it up and clean it.
I use Enterprise all the time to travel for work. My issue with them is that your reservation is never available at the time you reserve it for. Sometimes its the next day. They dont properly inspect the vehicles. Ive been stuck more than once with a vehicle with bad wipers. And of course it was storming.
I rent a car almost every weekend and sometimes for a month at a time. I always rent from Enterprise in Beaufort, SC. Why?1). They always pick me up and drive me home with no delays or excuses.2). The people in the office are super efficient and very friendly. It takes a very short time to get checked in and be on my way. I never seen any customer treated with anything but respect.3). The drivers are polite and interesting to talk to.4). The cars are clean and in great shape.5). When a tree limb fell on my car and cracked the window the car was replaced with no problem.Admittedly I have little experience with other car rental companies, but why would I go to anyplace else when I am treated so well at Enterprise.
I usually rent from enterprise because this never happens but we had to wait close to an hour for our car to be ready. The staff wasn’t accommodating or trying to help at all when we asked why there was a delay or if they could do anything to speed up the process because we were running late for a meeting we had. Will definitely be looking into other options next time we’re in town.
Good experience renting from the Enterprise on Robert Smalls Parkway in Beaufort, SC. I was picked and dropped off at Enterprise and on the back end they dropped me off. The truck they gave me is very nice. It was a new Dodge and it came with all the bells and whistles, rode smooth, aesthetically pleasing. People kept saying is that your new truck, its nice. It had a bit too many gadgets and buttons for me but I guess thats what a majority of todays consumer wants. The turn in process was a bit of a headache because I forgot one of the keys at home and they wouldnt accept the truck without it, which I understand. I think letting the customer turn in the truck and putting a charge on their credit card for the cost of a replacement key along with signing something stating that they know they are returning one less key than they received is an option that should be explored. Of course the cost would be refunded once the customer returned the key. Overall though good experience.
They charge my for damage on the front bumper that been there, whenever me and the representative walked around the car to check for damages he point it out saying “like the you won’t get charge cause it been there” now they just charge my card $500 for literally a damage that don’t cost no more then $150!!! And a DAMAGE THAT BEEN THERE WHEN I GOT IT!
Deceivers! On my reservation it said pick up the car at thr Hartsville location and when I finally got there the location was closed because of the covid-19 and i called Multiple times to the location to check about the car and never once inform me that my reservation was moved to this location! I waisted half an hour driving for no reason. What really infuriates me is that the customer service rep check my reservation and never once informed me that the location where the car was supposed to be was closed and my reservation was moved to this location.
The only reason I am giving it a 3 stars is because of the condition of the cars. The staff could not have been better and I give them 5 stars. The cars need to be better cleaned. We checked the trunk before we left and it was full of sand had we not checked that we would have tried to put groceries in it and not be able to.The windows were dirty and had guano on them as well as other dirt. We always use Enterprise and will continue to because all other Enterprises are extremely clean. A gentle reminder to the people that clean the cars that they need to do a much better job.

My experience through this Enterprise location was fantastic! They quickly got me into my car after picking me up from Caliber Collision. They also seamlessly got me taken care of when I dropped off. Despite waiting, I was taken care of and out the door within ten minutes.
Second time at this place and they told me to come at a certain time for my reservation and both times I had to wait over an hour. If I didn’t go and ask what’s going on they would not have said anything to us so we sat here waiting with no one addressing us to ensure that we were getting taken care of.
I will ALWAYS choose them. Everybody whove Ive encountered is wonderful. Even when I aggravated them they were courteous and nice.

What can I say, Enterprise in Beaufort, SC has by far exceeded any other car rental experience by far. I have traveled a lot and used all the major rental companies including Enterprise before. They were friendly, courteous and very accommodating. I rented 2 different vehicles in a 4 day time span and they were great We were in the area for our sons graduation from Marine Boot Camp. The employees that helped me were by far the nicest I have ever dealt with at any car rental place. I will be using Enterprise again because of them.
This Beaufort location is outstanding. From the counter person, to the people that pick you up, you can count on professionalism, courtesy and just good ol down home southern hospitality. I go for Enterprise now wherever I go because of my Beaufort experience. Keep up the great work! Love you guys!
The Enterprise of Beaufort SC is my local enterprise of choice. With that said a 4 star rating from me is valid with great choices, fast, convenient rental procedures and the courtesy of the available pick up and ride home. With all that praise given, customer service could be better and more professional as far as some of the employees go. Judgement of the customers financial situations and patronization of customers is a constant experience for me and comes across very unprofessional.
The Customer-service experiences I have encountered at this location have been, hands-down, the BEST in Beaufort! They get you In and Out and on your way in a jiffy! The entire reservation process is pain-free, even when booked online. The entire staff is Friendly, Professional, Courteous and always Welcoming, especially one employee named Will. I particularly enjoy the pick you up service they offer. The driver, Mr. Marshall, is the kindest Man I know and very funny. I will most definitely recommend going there so you can too, enjoy the experience. I even have been checked out by that same Lady as reviewed by another customer, and thankfully, did not have the alleged trunk-damage experience . I will however, request not to be checked out by her again if possible, because I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THE BS!!!

Very disappointed with this company and their poor customer service skills. They told me they do not open till 10 but they indeed open at 8. They needed 4 references with names and phone numbers when using a debit instead of credit card?! I understand this may be a company policy but this is just ridiculous. I dont think Ive ever had to do it with them before. The car came with only had half a tank of gas! Never heard of that either. The car was DIRTY!! Conner, the manager never came out to assist his new trainee or to help the situation. They receive all the military rentals and in return.. we receive poor customer service because of a lack of competition. Military and civilians should avoid this place at all costs, find another rental place!!!
Always a pleasant experience. The staff is polite, friendly, helpful, and professional. The type car I have reserved is always available when i arrive, or I was made aware beforehand of a problem and advised as to the vehicles I could choose from. I have not used them for the pickup service but I always used them to get me back home at the completion of my travels. They are my first choice for vehicle rentals.
I am normally satisfied with Enterprise. I have rented cars many times in the Virginia area and never had this issue. This was my second time renting here. I made an online reservation a week prior to pick up and the car was not ready when I got there. It ad to be cleaned it took 40 minutes to get the vehicle cleaned. Which put me behind the scheduled time I wanted to be on the highway. The staff was nice but I would really like if I make a reservation for my vehicle to be ready to go when I get there.
I booked in store first then when online and found a much cheaper deal for the same date and time. My overall experience with customer service was real nice. I told them I needed a car with leg room and I was nicely accommodated.

I recently rented a cargo van to help my son move. I reserved the van one day in advance and picked it up at the specified time the next day. I kept it for 5 days. The staff was friendly and efficient. The van was clean and mechanically sound. Overall the move was fast and easy because of the space in the van
We came to Beaufort SC on our boat. We needed a car to return to Annapolis, MD for our grand-daughters HS Graduation. Enterprise provided us with a jeep, even picked us up at our marina. The trip north was beautiful. The jeep performed admirably. Return was flawless and efficient. Personnel on both pickup and return were very professional. I highly recommend Enterprise and will use them again in the near future.RAC

We have rented from this location on many occasions and always been treated very well. On our last visit, my wife informed the agent that we were traveling a long distance and that my back was ailing me. She asked if we could have a vehicle with lumbar support and the agent went above and beyond by allowing me to sit in many vehicles then choose the one that best supported my back. Very nice and exceptionally accommodating people.
The wait time on cars has improved greatly since the recent change in management. Pick ups are more timely as well! Only negative at this location is the cleanliness of the car. This is consistently overlooked by the staff. Outside is usually pretty good but the inside is typical gross. On multiple occasions I have cleaned the front windows and dash as I was touring execs and frankly would have been embarrassed if I hadnt!
I have always had good experiences renting with enterprise. Unfortunately this time was an exception. I spent the money for a luxury rental but was dissatisfied with what enterprise apparently calls luxury. In addition the car was dirty and had been smoked in. I am typically not a person who rates things like this but I feel people need to be informed to spend extra money and in this case might want to reconsider.
The car I reserved was not ready at 9:00am.. I wanted to be on the road to get to my daughters house in Tenn. to see the new baby and grand kids. I was bringing supper in a cooler and wanted to be their by dinner time. I was offered an upgrade, the choice of a truck or an SUV and I felt more comfortable with the SUV. I called this location to make a reservation. I was told the car was reserved in my name for 8AM the next day. I asked for a pick-up- they said to call back at 8AM and press 4 and theyll arrange my pick-up- everything seemed fine!I called this morning and theyre telling me they cant pick me up due to my location (even though I specified my address the day prior).... then Im told there are no cars available! What?!?! *sigh*How is this ok?! What happened to my reservation? There goes my plan... what am I supposed to do now? How can a national corporation act this way?
My Foundation, BlackButterFly, has used the Beaufort Enterprise Rent-A-Car on a few occasions. Our non-profit is just starting out and we have limited funds. We have not only been able to afford to rent a vehicle but able to use the savings towards other events that the Foundation sponsored. Allison has been very kind, professional and polite. Her friendly and helpful demeanor, vehicles in excellent condition and the rates we pay for a vehicle are the reasons we continue to use Enterprise.
Although it was raining the day I got the rental, I didnt get to go over the van with a employee of Enterprise. but the van was filthy and I didnt know until I got home and have my family ready to leave. It was horrible
Dont feel like the vehicle was fully Inspected before it was given to me. This particular day when I got switched out I was given something smaller than what was returned. In addition the young lady had an attitude and spoke with me a little hard. If it wasnt an emergency situation where I needed a car right away I would have picked another location or went elsewhere.
Rented a mini-van on short notice, and Joe was very helpful in and out. We were lucky to get a brad new Town and Country - had 125 miles on it to start. The entire process went very well and at a better price than Hertz.
They had my car reserved but for some unknown reason it was in Columbia. I showed up here in Beaufort expecting my rental and there was nothing. The word Columbia was never mentioned when making the reservation. They made me a day late for my daughters graduation in TN.
I usually like Enterprise for the pickup service. No pick up in Myrtle Beach and so a $75 cab ride to airport. Ouch! I should not have assumed this service so beware. The very pleasant person at the counter worked a bit too hard to try to get me to buy the extra insurance, but service was pleasant and prompt (at opening hours).
Very friendly staff at this location, and they worked hard to put me in a vehicle that closely resembled the vehicle I had at the body shop. The main thing I found that made the customer experience better was that they asked me personally to choose out of their available vehicles rather than just sticking me in one.
Dont go here not professional.. Told me my suv was ready at 12. no come at 2 came at 2 stiill not ready.. Now im outside late for work. Smh what a day
Vehicles always dirty sticky stuff, smell, food, drugs etc. have rented multiple times has gotten worse over the years.Dont use drop box you will get charged different from what told so you must be present to make sure your bill is correct. Staff doesn’t care a pain to get anything corrected if you can. Have had enough will never rent with them ever again.

My mom has rented a car from here 2 times in the past year, she has had no issues. Vehicles are clean and very nice. Employees are nice and professional.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The van we rented was fine for the 6 of us, but those in the 3rd row of seats found that it had not been cleaned from the prior use. There was about 1/2 of clear syrup in one of the side cup holders and crumbs in the other sides cup holders.
Because you WILL be lied to at the counter, please know that as long as your personal insurance covers your use of rentals you DO NOT have to purchase the extra coverage that is crammed down your throat at the counter. Customer service here was AWFUL!! I had to wait for well over an hour to be placed in a car. I made it clear that I need to pick my son up from daycare and I needed to be in and out. The customer service rep didnt feel like that was reason enough to expedite the process, although she left half way through the process to go get her own children. When I called inquiring about an unauthorized charge on my account from Enterprise and about being lied to about having to purchase their coverage, I was met with sarcasm and utter disregard for my satisfaction. I was not the only unhappy customer there when I returned the car. There were two others, one who had unauthorized charges on their account and the other being charged with damage that Enterprise claimed they caused to the car that customer knew and documented prior to renting the vehicle. I asked to speak with the manager on three separate occasions and left my contact info and a message requesting a call back. Shockingly I have heard nothing for over a week and a half. The service and the employees were very helpful. My car was not ready and the employee that worked with me call the insurance company and get them to extended my days until my car was ready. That was very helpful. I give them a A+.

The car I rented was great. The guy who helped me out was awesome. However, if youre dropping off the keys after hours youll still get charged for an extra day the following day. They wont call you. It just shows up in an email on the invoice. Waited close to 10 minutes on hold before someone finally answered it. And im still not even getting the correct amount back from my deposit.
I think enterprise is awesome,I love how they are always ready to answer any questions you may have but more importantly they will go above and beyond for you too get you the lowest price or better vehicle.
I use Enterprise frequently for trips from Beaufort, SC to Washington, DC. The experience is always very positive. The driver picks me up right on time. Service at the office is quick, efficient and professional. Staff is pleasant and friendly and the vehicles are clean and in superb running and appearance condition.
