The Alzheimers Disease Resource Center has been a lifesaver for my family. Under the new leadership of Robin they have persevered through the pandemic and brought much of their programming and fundraising for Alzheimers disease online. The staff there are passionate, kind, knowledgable, and have supported my family through caring for our mom with Alzheimers. I highly recommend to other families caring for a person with Alzheimers on Long Island to call them and see what they can do to help you.

My name is Tracey Kuczinski and I have been a Senior Housing Advocate for the last 27 years have. I work closely with Robin Marks in regards to assistance and guidance for my families not only because she is so kind and caring but because her knowledge in regards to dementia and Alzheimers care is beyond reproach. There is a reason for her being so loved and respected in our field and that is because no matter the issue a family may be facing she always takes the time to really listen and guide them in ways that ease the pain that being a caregiver carries within every child or spouse that cares for someone they love with Alzheimers . She is someone I admire and someone I am so proud to not only count on to be there seniors and their families but some one I am proud to call a friend. I am very selective about who I send my families to for help and Robin and her team at ADRC are at the top of my list!!

There is no amount that can express how amazing this place is. The people who work here are so supportive and go above and beyond to help out those in need of resources and support. I personally have referred close friends and family to ADRC, as well as families from my line of work in the field of Social Work. This place has been a life saver for so many.

Over the past 10 years I have referred numerous friends, family, and client families to The Center and have always been overly pleased with the services; programs; knowledge; guidance; and kindness that is delivered. The key ingredient to their delivery is dedicated compassion . Thank you Robin Marks for making the challenging task of caring for those with memory loss much easier and lighter when you share your extensive knowledge and uplifting spirit.

ADRC is a lifeline for loved ones trying to deal with a family member or friend suffering from Alzheimers or another form of Dementia. This organization has been caring for families for over 20 years. The number of people diagnosed together with the accompanying need for advice and resources has grown, exponentially. No one gets turned away from the ADRC. The Executive Director and her staff, always go above and beyond to offer assistance, education or a shoulder. If they cant help you, they will refer you to someone who can. The Executive Director helped me many years ago, when I was in denial over my mothers eroding memory. As we all know, the course of the disease is predictable. There is no one better-suited to help a family navigate this difficult course.

I find it amazing that ADRC was able to pivot during this time of Covid and offer their clients the same level of care and guidance as their in-person support. Their executive director, Robin, is a rockstar!MN

So, can I just say, I am a professional, working with seniors but when it came to helping a good friens I felt i needed some help, I called Robin and the staff at ADRC and I just cant say how much support and insight they gave to my friend, She called me to say what wonderful people they are but more then that how at ease they made her feel, like she had a new family helping her with her family. Thank you ADRC for being there for my friend and our community.!!

I was referred by my therapist to call ADRC for help with my mother-in-law who has Alzheimers. I spoke with the office manager Robin but she didn’t seem to understand dementia very well. She was not very professional and in my opinion was abrasive over the phone. We ended up hiring a Geriatric Care Manager to help us find exactly what our family needed and were then referred to an Alzheimer’s speciality group in Huntington.

Our company has been affiliated with the ADRC since 2004, and we find it to be the most valuable resource for all those involved in the realm of Alzheimers Disease. For patients and their families, the ADRC offers counseling, support groups, resources, and real world answers. For caregivers and Home Care agencies, they offer direction, education, training and support. There is no other organization on Long Island that offers so much to the Alzheimers community.

The Alzheimers Disease Resource Center is a lifeline. Working in the geriatric field, it is not uncommon to come across the misunderstanding of dementia amongst other challenging situations. I work for a home care agency and I always connect our families to ADRC that are coping with this disease. Their team goes the extra mile to educate, advocate, and support families every step of the way (LITERALLY, every step!). I highly recommend them to any family struggling with the side effects that dementia has on an individual and their loved ones.
