I got two dogs here..they both lived to be over 16 years old. For the past 18 years I thought this is a five star place.*Edit- Today two of the employees decide to yell out of the window the car while speeding down Marquette. This is not the professionalism I expect from the Bay county animal services.I hope they didnt have an animal in the vehicle because they hit the railroad tracks at about 45 miles an hour. (Young blonde woman and a man sitting passenger)As my grandma used to say if you dont have something nice to say...dont say it all :(

Clean and neat kennels. Nice runs outside. Friendly staff. Easy to find off Center Street. Near Fairgrounds. Well kept pet areas.

I went to find a dog to adopt and staff were very pleasant n information.

Not responsive dont get back with you or answer the phone. 5 calls in 3 days never heard back.

I know they took great care of my pet and got him fixed and shots for me this was 3 years ago but great place

Got a new baby from them. He is great, I love my kittens with attitude and he has. Have to say am very pleased with them.

The people who work here work very hard to try and make the animals life good while they wait for their forever homes I so love they became a no kill shelter which gives every animal a chance at happiness

I’m sure their hearts are in the right place but this facility is really just failing the dogs there. Told it would be about a week to hear back about the dog and it’s been about a month. Got rejected for not having a fenced in yard which is something that could have been told right away would be an issue. The dog in question has been there for about 8 months now and has had “hundreds” of applicants. I’m sure out of all the applicants there were SEVERAL that would have been an amazing home for the dog but instead he will continue to sit in a cage. Really sad.

This place is amazing. You can feel the love the employees have for all the animals as soon as you walk in.

We adopted a lab didnt no it had pit in it or that it already attached someone bring him home he was good for about 4 days then my grandson came over to spend nite was hear half hour playing leaving dog alone out of blue dog tried bitting him in face we had to pull the dog off my grandson all he was doing was sitting on couch tryin to watch tv took dog back found out this happened before with the same dog they just didnt think we would want to no I guess an they were told there was little kids in home

The cages were clean and the pets were well fed and cared for. Everyone was so kind to theanimals, too! They helped me adopt the to the right dog for me.

Found a dog running loose and called them, they told us to either let it go or wait til tomorrow that there wasnt an officer on duty to let the dog in the back.

I found my best friend here. They have a ton of critters that need a home. They are very reasonable and take good care of you and your future best friend. It cost me $68.00 for the adoption fee, vaccination, neuter, and other fees. Please consider coming here if you are looking for a pet. You wont regret it. I dont.

We came looking for our lost cat and ended up leaving with an adoption form for a dog.😂 We applied a day ago and the staff was full of sweethearts and the animals are well taken care of with top shelf food. Can’t wait to bring our baby boy home.

Jo is amazing!!! The assistant that went out of her way to help was great also. But Jo helped calm me when I was worried then went out of her way to help me afterwards. The Animal Shelter is so fortunate to have Jo! She is a blessing in everyones lives that she touches!!

They said they had emotional support dogs. We specifically asked for that. They gave us a cute dog, but they brought it from a different part of the building not where the other dogs were. NOT EMOTIONAL SUPPORT nor did they tell us where we could get one. We took the dog home made a couple of phone calls and videos and the dog was infested with worms. Why would (bay county) put a Family with a young child at risk of catching worms.THEY KNEW THE DOG WAS SICK. SHAME ON YOU BAY COUNTY with no natural affection.

This is honesty my favorite place to go. Not only does this place offer rescue relief for those animals in need, but allows people to come in and give some much needed love and attention to these pets looking for a home.

I understand shelters are full around her but when I called about a stray Kitten that had been following me around for over a month I was told to put it back and it would find its way home. Didnt offer me any other resources or anything. Now i am supposed to take this sweet cat thats laying on my bed puring and put it outside like unwanted vermin. Maybe if they did their job the cat problem wouldnt be so bad.

They dont care about cats I have called them to get help for a cat that someone abandoned they wont help the workers tell me to leave it be and dont feed it this was about a month ago since then the cat is living under the house i had told them i am not allowed to have a pet because i rent I tryed calling many places for help and nobody will help I keep trying to get help but they are not answering the phone and not calling back when i leave a message begging for help for a helpless Maine coon beautiful loving cat that really needs help!!.. those people have no heart they only care about money

I was not impressed! The people that work there are very rude and condescending. I wanted to adopt a cat and the people treated me like they had better things to do than to help me! I will go elsewhere to get an animal.This shelter claims that they need people to adopt these animals so badly but yet the staff there glare at potential families.They are more interested in being on their cellphones and talking to people like they are stupid,than to help people find their forever fur baby!

Great and helpful staff, you can tell they care about what they do.

Clean kennels. Dog I adopted was minimally stressed from experience and healthy. Jo is extremely helpful, everyone very nice.

Very slow in response. Almost useless. Everytime we call and need help, its DAYS before they show up. Im not sure if its under staffing or what. In my opinion it is unacceptable. However, the front desk ladies are very nice.

The place said it was open, every single time we went it was closed the staff nowhere to be found. We called they said they were open and always had staff on site.

They refused to help me desperately needed help with a dog with a bite history and they refuse to help or take the dog in to have it evaluated they told me I would have to fill out an application and it would have to go in front of the board of commissions and they would get back to me in a few weeks well nor I or the dog had a few weeks
