Rude Agents. They dont listen, talk over people or tell you to deal with it. Creepy tech guys that come out without letting you know ( when they are supposed to). Internet goes off line more than its online. But they still take your money for terrible service. They just lost a business account because of this.

Absolutely the worst service provider. Many people in our area of northern Maine are experiencing multiple problems with Consolidated Communications. Poor service, dropped internet multiple times a day, no response for service techs to fix issues. There are two neighbors who have been out of internet service for over two weeks with no response for Consolidated other than the ticket has been logged. It should not be legal to charge for a service you cannot provide. They are the only provider in our area. How can the children during these difficult time manage their school work? I have lodged a complaint with the BBB and Consumer complaints with the AG of Maine.

Very slow speed, we were told we would be getting a speed of 12. We would gets speeds of 0.3! Reps would tell us that our speed was fixed remotely, not true. Reps would tell us that for our problems they would take money off the bill, not true. We had two appointments for service and the technician never showed up. I’m at a loss here to figure out a way to get what I’m paying for. You can bet that if I didn’t pay my bill I would be getting never ending calls to make a payment. Here is a great idea, customer service!! I can send the definition of that term if you haven’t heard of it.

We pay for 20Mbps, its the one and only option for us. We have been getting 0.02-0.5 Mbps for almost a month now.They dont give what they promise. We have been paying them 40 bucks a month for internet that just doesnt function.They dont repair their infrastructure, and they dont care that it doesnt work.Weve been calling them day after day and I havent seen anyone. They say that theyll send someone over tomorrow afternoon and nothing changes.My phone connects through the internet. My husband is a school teacher that needs the internet to teach. Weve been having to drive to the parking lots of random fast food places to make appointments, send emails, and for him to teach his classes.Over the past year that weve had this provider, the internet has only worked as promised for three months. Those months being the dead of winter when this towns population drops to less than half of the summer population.They know they can get those automatic payments from people who dont know they can get a refund, so they dont bother buying the equipment, or hiring the people required to repair/update anything.If there isnt a lawsuit against them for not providing the services promised, while taking the money, there should be.

The service is unreliable and the customer support is worse than any other internet service I’ve dealt with. The technical support line cannot communicate with the service technicians or customer service, so you frequently have to sit on hold to talk to another department. They change or cancel appointments without calling and the have cleared trouble tickets without ever showing up.

The internet from this place is awful. The customer service is terrible. You can’t schedule an appointment, they just tell you what day they’ll be there. If you’re working, they show up anyway and then say the ticket is cleared. I have had to cancel work calls and more due to unusable internet.

Called because my internet was down. Sat on hold for 30 minutes, someone answered took all my information and then said, I think youve got the wrong department. And now here I sit on hold again.Non stop outages and issues through this company, unfortunately I have no other choice but to use them.

On hold for over a half hour from 6:30 a.m.. Finally hung up and called back and put on hold again. Finally hung up, called around 8:30 and was told due to high call volume, we cannot take your call. Please try again later at which they terminated the call.I got a new modem from them 2 years ago which has never worked right, different make from before. Obviously its not working now but I cant even reach them to get a new one.Fairpoint was okay, Conolidated is horrible. This is not the first time Ive had problems. Until I find another provider, it wont be the last.

I just had this internet service installed and had some new customer issues. I have never been more satisfied after speaking with a rep from a utility and I think we will have a long enjoyable internet service with them. Hughes net was a nightmare!

Been trying for three days now to set up an account for a home that I am buy that Consolidated Communications has serviced in the past for the prior owner and all I get is transferred and wait times.I have have probably waited a total of 5 hours.Just can not figure this out about this company and why it is so complicated to get information or service through them.Makes me question their reliability.

I have been a customer for 7 years I call in to see if there is a discount for being with them so long in good standing I pay $87 a month and they tell me $10 off the bill but with a year contract and if I cancel and wait 3 months with no service then start up a new contract I can pay $45 a month. Hummmm...... I dont understand how they think any of that makes sense and how they think treating loyal customers and not offering them better discounts will make us stay. Non the less I am cancelling my service if they dont appreciate their customers I dont feel like they deserve my services

Paid for the faster speeds as I like to game, and am almost always down (or such slow speeds I might as well be down). Have had techs come check everything inside and out and claim there are no problems, yet STILL almost never connected. Tech has been nice to us at least, but getting sick of it all.Update - After all those months and wasted time, the last tech to come out tells us were too far from the office to be able to get the speed wed been paying for. Got reduced, and aside from once or twice a week briefly going down it seems to be okay. Hopefully something can be done about all the extra money we were paying for service we couldnt use.

Just try emailing them!!! It wont go through...AND try to see a detailed bill!!! Cant even see the service address (I have several businesses)!!! AND we stopped service last fall and STILL are getting billed!!! TOTALLY UNRESPONSIVE!!!!!

Had a contractor come out to put new upgraded modem in, left wires hanging out of tel jack box, leaves and I have now no tel service, this is 2 days ago, still no service, and when I call, which is 3 times today with no issues resolved the phone gets hung up saying call ended. So sick of this company.

They were great given the options I had. I wanted to post the review because there are so many negative ones. After my grandmother died it was easy to continue service with them. The one thing I will say if youre having technical issues with your modem INSIST on speaking to a supervisor. The modems usually last about 2 years. Then they send you another one free, they did for me anyway. The cost does go up every year, but in my experience theyre upfront about that. They were way better than dealing with comcast. And when you close the account you dont have to return the equipment.

Save yourself time and money - Sign up for Comcast!Id give Fair Point a 0 if I could... The internet service was nearly un-usable. I spent hours on the phone with customer service trying to convince them to send out a technician to my house. They assured me that our internet was Functioning at a normal rate. Website took minutes to load, movies would stop and buffer every several minutes.The technician showed up to the house 2 hours after the 4 hour window they give. Once I was able to get a technician to my house they assured me that we were running at Better than normal rates.After being patient and going through the chain of command with Fair Point I was forced to terminate service but only after the 30 day zero cost cancelation window. After having a paper trail of calls and service visits to the house they had the audacity to send me a $139 termination fee!If you live in the Brunswick, ME area, save yourself the hassle and go with another provider. Fair Point is the cheapest... But they are terrible.

I only give Fairpoint DSL more than one star because over the last 2 years, I am paying ⅓ of what Comcast/xfinity was charging me for the same speed service (7mbps). Cable offers more reliable, higher speeds (25+Mbps) but 7 is the max Fairpoint can offer at my location in Bath.HOWEVER - I have found internet service to be reliable ONLY during the months of October - May...From June - Sept, I am forced to power cycle my modem up to 10x a day to restore my internet connection. (Along with several calls to customer service each month just to let them know there is STILL a problem)This pattern has persisted over the past 2 years with no resolution, and I am left to assume it is due to an overload on Fairpoint resources due to seasonal demand from summer/ vacation home subscribers...? Anyone care to verify?Thankfully, I do not rely on Fairpoint for business - I doubt thats even a possibility given the issues Ive experienced - but I resign myself to the fact that I am not paying upwards of $100/mo for the same home connection speed.Now that Fairpoint has been sold to an even larger corporation, Im sure 🤔that they will be addressing this and all of the other service complaints 👎👎you can read about all over the internet ✌️

Terrible, internet connection is not solid. Made my first call on June 18th for my issue on July 30th still not resolved. Over 10 calls to them, 2 technicians to my house. Completely outraged with the company and not many other options in my area. If you have ANY other options DO NOT use fairpoint.

Absolute worst company Ive ever seen. Only service available where I live and had to wait 17 days for service to be turned on at my address. Now, 12 hours after the service is on, the brand new modem stops working. If I can find someone else, Im leaving. And if there is another service in your area, choose them!

Bad service, over priced, rude reps, basically just crap. If you have any other provider in your area that is not satellite based, go with them. Fairpoint is a legal monopoly in our area so we dont have a choice, when we move we will never use any of their services again.
