Terrible refused to fix then just tore other items apart and halfway put back together. All in all would not let them touch anything but a briggs and stratton....

My daughter had an accident and Mr. Personality from Uncle Daves showed up to tow the car. (The police called them - NOT ME!) He rudely informed me that I would need to pay him $150 in cash before the vehicle could be towed. He told me I could go to the ATM while he was hooking up the car. HELLO! We were in the middle of a 6 lane road with HEAVY traffic all around. Why not follow me to the ATM to get us BOTH out of harms way? This would have sped up the process which would allow him to get our job done and move on to the next one. OR... better yet, how about accepting credit cards.. HELLO! this is 2021. Why not get a cube for your iPhone and move into the 20th century. Most people dont carry that kind of cash and last time I checked there are no ATMs in the middle of Germantown Parkway! He was also smoking a cigarette while he unloaded the car. Police contracted rates and accepted payment terms may be set by the City of Memphis, but the choice of the company to not accept anything but cash is extortion in my opinion. The car was disabled and they would not tow it 1 inch without payment IN CASH.

Yes due to my own negligence of not doing regular maintenance and upkeep. I will never take a vehicle of mine anywhere else but here. I still cant believe how great my van drives. This was my first time working with Uncle Daves Auto Repair and the service was outstanding. I needed to have my car towed from my house to a shop nearby and every step of this process was smooth and seamless. The tow truck driver (Doc) did an amazing job. He took the time to put ramps at the edge of the flatbed to make sure the front of my car didnt rub as it was being raised/lowered from the truck. I highly recommend these guys to anyone in need of towing and/or auto repair.

My 2014 Honda Civic was beginning to lunge and stall at red lights and I feared the worst when it came to a repair. However, as soon as I walked in to Uncle Dave’s and talked to one of the employees, I immediately felt more comfortable because of the amazing customer service and the professionalism of everyone there. Not only did they fix my car but they fixed it at a reasonable price! Thank you so much guys! My car runs like it is brand new!!!!

No one ever likes a significant auto repair bill. But in my case, this might be the thing that tells me, these guys really know what theyre doing. The AC in my 06 Accord has not worked well for the past 4 years. Two other places looked at it over that time frame, couldnt find anything wrong, and ended up just refilling with Freon. This was becoming an annual thing, and an annual expense. But this week, Uncle Daves crew diagnosed a bad compressor as my issue. And while thats a more expensive fix, at least I know its fixed, and guaranteed for the next 3 years. You can tell they love Hondas at this place, as much as I do. I highly recommend them to service your car/truck/van, any make or model. But, if youve got a Honda/Acura, make an extra effort to check them out.

I had my truck towed into Uncle Dave’s. The tow truck man was sooo kind.. Once we got to Uncle Dave’s on Summer HWY 70.. I felt like everything would be fine. It was my first time to go there. They worked on my truck until they were sure it was fixed and safe for me to drive. Their price was also very fair. The service was beyond poor. The tech (Marcus Lewis) who was dispatched to assist my daughter was extremely rude. He made very derogatory remarks and his tone was highly inappropriate. He sat in his car looking at his phone for what about 10 minutes before even bothering to help. I am filing a complaint with AAA and will be reaching out to local media concerning this company. When I tried to reach out to them regarding the issue the receptionist hung up. If this is the best service that can be offered...no thanks! Do not waste your time!

Not to helpful. Walked in asking about used vehicles for sale. Girl at desk finished her conversation with another employee handed me a sheet with used inventory, asked where these were located to see & she pointed towards the fence & said over there. I walked out & straight off the lot.

This was a AAA call on 4/29/20. Chris was punctual, knowledgeable and very helpful. He called and said he would be at my location in about 15 mins and he was on time. He tested different parts, diagnosed the problem and answered my questions with detailed information. Quick, pleasant experience.

I went to Dave’s after getting a $3,000 repair quote from Wolfchase Toyota for work on my Toyota Tundra. Eddie Flora worked up an estimate that was much cheaper and they offer a 3 year warranty on all their work. I explained that I needed my truck not only for work, but a Christmas trip to Bristol, VA. Being so close to Christmas, I was worried I would have to take our much smaller Honda Accord. Eddie worked some magic, and was able to find a time that worked for them and me. I dropped by truck off at 8am, and picked it up at 3pm the SAME DAY. Not only was the estimate lower, the actual bill was lower than the estimate. How many auto shops are that honest and fair? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Uncle Dave’s Auto Repair, and will be using them for any future auto repair. If you feel the dealership is overcharging you, head to Dave’s and you will not be sorry. They are fair, honest and a pleasure to do business with. Kudos to the team at Uncle Dave’s auto repair and Merry Christmas!

I have used their tow service a few times now through AAA. They are quickest to respond and have been there within the hour every time. I have seen some idiots out there towing, and these guys do it right. They strap the vehicles down securely and dont just rely on the winch and the vehicles brakes. Very thankful!

I was referred to them by another tow company and the woman I spoke to Brigette was very helpful. She did let me know there was a wait and I was fine with that. I never heard anything back though. So I call back the next morning and the woman who answered the phone was VERY rude. She hung up in my face the first time I called. The second time I called back she was not helpful at all. She didn’t even try to look up my information or anything. This is NOT how you do business. Very disappointed with their customer service

I am someone who likes to work and tinker on my own vehicles whenever possible (oil-changes, brake-jobs, etc.) For everything else, I always bring all my vehicles (Honda, Nissan & Toyota) to Uncle Dave’s Auto Repair. Why? Simply because I know it’s going to be done right the first time for a fair price and that Dave will stand behind the work that’s done at his shop. In the Memphis area, you are simply not going to get a better deal than that.

My truck was having some electrical problems and I called AAA to assist me with towing my truck in Nashville to the dealership. Just as soon as I submitted a tow request to AAA I got a call from Robert the Uncle Dave’s Towing Service driver. The driver said he would be there in 10-15 minutes. He was, and arrived very quickly and began loading my truck. He was very professional and polite. He got the truck loaded and delivered it to the dealership without any problems. I would recommend Uncle Dave’s towing Service to anyone and I plan to use them in the future if I ever need another tow. It was a very professional experience and service.

I had a flat tire at 1am during an ice storm. Dave (the owner) answered my call and said he would be there in 25 minutes. He was right on time. He loaded my Tahoe on to his truck took me to his shop and allowed me to use his shops equipment to change my tire. Ive lived in Memphis my entire life and have used several tow companies. Uncle Daves Towing is hands down the best towing company Ive ever had the pleasure to use. Dave was kind and courteous. If Im ever in need of a tow truck I will not hesitate to call him again. My son needed a tow one morning, so we called Uncle Daves based on a recommendation from another tow company. I called and told them where we were located and agreed to the terms. She said that they would be there within the hour. We waited for over an hour, and called back and she said he should be there. He wasnt and I told her we would use another service. Almost two hours later, while waiting for the other service, Uncle Daves truck drives by. Even though they came before the other service, I felt that I was lied to and that they probably took another job knowing they had us on the hook.

My car was stuck in S gear and I had called triple A to get a tow. They sent Josh from uncle Daves. Not only did Josh get my car started but he showed me a temporary fix to be able to drive the car until I could get it worked on. He was super friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to help. 2-stars because the men where kind and advised me to be careful. But not nice enough for me to over-pay for services.Timing belt kit cost $130 (at most) for my car - they were going to charge me $800 to replace a Timing Belt Tensioner. They stated it was a 5-hr service-time, equates to approximately $600+ in labor fees ($100/hour). Took my car else where and got it fixed for $500. If you dont mind paying more for your service this is the place for you.

Honda Haven is a locally owned and operated auto repair shop. The owner Dave Steward and his staff are very friendly, fast and knowledgeable. If you are looking for that small home town customer service and an honest mechanic this is the place.

My alternator went out on the coldest night of the winter this far when I was traveling home to Tupelo, and my ins company called a tow. I didnt have a good feeling after speaking w/ their rep. Long story short my cousin called Dave instead as this is the shop he trusts. Their tow truck came out right away. I felt so much better from the start. Dave and Tommy helped us and took care of business! This is the best shop we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They are honest and trustworthy.

If you have a Honda vehicle and live around Memphis or Bartlett, you are incredibly lucky to have a shop like this. Take advantage of it. I have an older Honda, and after a Craigslist mechanic CAUGHT THE ENGINE ON FIRE, the technicians at Honda Haven were able to fix the original problem and the new problems within an hour. They work quickly, diligently, and honestly.

Used this tow service to move a minor damaged car to a storage facility before my wife and I could have the Make A Wish Foundation pick it up for donation. I had a storage facility give me the run-around (called before hand to see if they would allow me to store a minor damaged car, they said no problem, when I towed it to them they would not store it) and through about an hour spent trying to sort out the situation and find a new storage facility, the driver remained patient and they allowed me to only pay for the extra mileage to move it again. The driver was very friendly and even helped me get the vehicle in the storage unit. EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I ever need further towing service in the area Uncle Daves will get my business first. Thanks guys.

Its Policy to leave people on the side of the ROAD in 105 degrees and not pick up your car when they said they would be there in 10-15 min because your dead body is not laying beside the car 2 hours later when they oops forgot they had a family emergency and didnt have the courtesy of a phone call !! I cant give you an ETA, but you better be there!I have read your response to my post, and you are correct, I was not the name on the service call. Unfortunately it was my daughter, L. Adams, which is why I was so mad. We pay for her to have the Premier AAA, so that she will always be safe (never stranded on the side of the road) and get help as quickly as possible. She is a college student that commutes to school and back frequently. My daughter waited with car as long as she could, I waited after her and then asked a friend that lived close to go back when we heard the driver was 10-15 min out. After she waited over an hour, I called and spoke to an employee, he apologized and said the driver had a family emergency. He could not give me an eta, but they would pick up the car. Communication stopped until morning when I learned the car was still there and the ticket had been cancelled because the member was not with the car.

I wish I was able to give a negative one, based on the attitude given by the rep on the phone as well as the unprofessional-ism received when trying to explain the situation. Over talked me as well as would not provide service. I would not recommend this place.

Dave and his highly trained staff are so great! I have been a customer of his for a while and have never had a less than phenomenal experience at his shop. My wife feels comfortable going there alone knowing she will be taken care; the posh/clean waiting area and restroom dont hurt either. They are quick, yet thorough and respect their customers time. Being a AAA vendor, I have also used the Parkway AAA location on Germantown Pkwy when my Chevy had a brake mishap. They towed me in and had my car fixed in just a few hours so I could make my road trip that same afternoon!

If I could give no stars I would....Yesterday at 5pm I made a Service Call with AAA for a Tow.The man on the phone said it will be btwn then and8pm which is ridiculous for a tow (3 hours!). Thenabout 7ish you guys called stating we weresecond in line. Which eta was 8:49pm. Then around8:30 the eta changed to 9:52pm! At that point I wasso irate I cancelled the tow. We just kept gettingpushed back an hour an hour etc. I have a 14 yearold at the house all night by herself! This is morethan ridiculous to wait at least 5 hours for a tow!I will not renew my membership! Now, this morning, my husband is going through the EXACT same thing! Do you guys only have 1 driver in the whole country??? This is ridiculous!

We have had no complaints and will continue to use and recommend Honda Haven. This place is terrible. They dont actually come and tow your car. They cancel on you after you wait for hours(4 to be exact), and make you start the entire process over from the very start. I will never allow this company to come tow my vehicle, and I would advice all to ask for a different towing company than Uncle Daves when going through AAA .

I took my 2008 Saturn Sky in for an overheating issue. It turns out that the water pump was out, I had a clogged radiator and the initial culprit was that the fan had gone out. As a result I had warped the head.It the better part of two months to get it working right but their mechanic stayed with it and fixed it.The cost of my repair was around $3700.00 but it was half what Serra Chevrolet, the dealership who had originally told me nothing was wrong with the car, quoted me. My transmission was bad and they told me that it was just my computer not talking to my van reset the computer and sent me on my way making me think everything was okay 2 days later my check engine light is back on and my transmission is way worse off because I have been driving it around thinking its fine!

Clutch went out. Uncle Daves (certified AAA shop) came and towed me, after determining clutch issue wasnt as drastic as I originally thought. Took it to their shop and gave me a loaner car for the entire period they had my car (just over 7 days). When it came time to pay the piper, Uncle Daves even worked with me, knowing that I couldnt handle the complete payment at one time. I cannot remember when Ive been treated with more courtesy and made to feel more like I was a partner in the transaction. I do not hestitate to recommend them on the basis of customer support, automobile repair expertise, general congeniality and so many other areas. Unlike many repair shops, Uncle Daves was more interested in getting me back on the road than in trying to upsell a lot of unneeded expensive items for my Jeep.

My daughter and I went here, because I was interested in a new Accord. My husband had just passed away, I was about to move across the country to Phoenix, and I didnt think my car could make the trip. We pulled up in my 1998 Corolla (crappy car, but we were dressed upper middle class). We got out and walked to the back to check out the Accords. Walked around for forty-five minutes watching sales people zip by us in golf-carts. Finally, I looked at my daughter and said Their loss, lets go buy something else. And yes, other people were getting helped, even though they pulled in after us. We got back in our car and drove over to Covington Pike. We pulled into the Volvo dealership (just to look, its the first dealership I saw on Covington Pike), but Herb was so friendly and had such good customer service that I bought a new silver C30 Volvo instead of an Accord. And since I was paying cash, the entire transaction took about the same amount of time that I wasted at Honda in Bartlett. Most of the good reviews here are for the service. The only reason I can think we got snobbed was because of the car we pulled up in, but that should have been a key that we were seriously in need of a new car (just an intelligent thought).
