Outstanding tour. The three hours flew by. Even if you dont know much about Stephen King (which my wife did not), this tour is still worth going on. It interweaves Stephen King and Bangors history well. This is a place that helped inspire his writings over the years. But its also a place that the King family has helped over the years through their foundation. The tour ties it all together in an informative and entertaining way.

Wow! This was one of the best experiences of our lives! The driver Stu made the entire experience spectacular because of his vast knowledge of not only SK but other local history as well. I firmly believe that a tour of this magnitude should charge at least double the price that they do.. Its that good.I cant say enough good things about this experience. Being picked up by the tour bus was on time and hassle free. The bus was extra clean, inside and out. Stu provided bathroom breaks and made it clear that he would be happy to stop anywhere for anything at any time. He even took some great photos of us.We have already planned a return trip to the area and this will no doubt be the first thing we book for next year.We can say enough great things about this tour, just do it!Thanks Stu!

Jamie was warm, engaging, absolutely bursting with knowledge of the Kings & gave us one of the best tours we’ve ever been on. Went with hubby & 2 of our adult children and we all had a great time. Learned so many new & interesting things about ‘Uncle Steve’ and the lovely town of Derry, I mean Bangor, Maine that we didn’t know before. I highly recommend this tour even for non-fans (is that a thing?!) as it was worth every penny (wise). Thanks so much, Jamie, we’ll definitely do this tour again next time we get back!

10 Stars! Jaime was funny, personable and knowledgeable. He personally knows SK which makes the tour that much more special. Loved hearing his stories and all about SK’s history/life. The insane asylum and cemetery were my favorite. He has a comfy/clean tour van + props for photo ops + free little gifts that were unexpected and greatly appreciated! Even my husband (who doesn’t read) enjoyed the tour greatly. If we are ever in the area again, we will do this for a second time! Thank you so much for the great time!

If you are looking to really get to know your favorite horror/thriller author, then SK tours is the place for you. Stu has so much knowledge and information to share that the 3hr tour just flies by! The Kings are so much more than the books and movies and one leaves feeling even more ready to be a “constant reader”. The tour bus is comfortable and seeing “Derry” come alive is fantastic. This tour was amazing!!! I’m a huge Stephen King fan and this tour was such an amazing experience. Even if you’re not a Stephen King fan you would still love it. Jamie was a great tour guide and you can tell that he really loves what he does. The bus fit about 14 people and it was a comfy ride with no issues. He even stopped at the half way point at a gas station for us all to use the restroom which was nice. I would definitely do this tour again when I visit again!!!

Jaimie also brought along props to create this scene for photos.As a King fan I had an incredible time, would recommend for any King fan whether hardcore or casual to attend when in Bangor.
This tour was one of the biggest highlights of my husbands and my trip to Maine this past week, and we traveled to Bangor specifically to take it. Definitely worth the drive! Our tour guide was so incredibly knowledgeable about not just Mr. King and his books, but the town and people of Bangor as well. Overall a great experience, and a tour I feel both SK fans and those significant others or family members who end up tagging along will still enjoy and appreciate.

This tour was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I traveled to Maine specifically for this tour. Jaime was entertaining, funny and engaging. We had so much fun on this tour! My mom is a huge Stephen King fan and we road tripped all the way from Illinois for this. It did not let us down! Jamie is very informative and friendly. The tour is fun and flys by. You even stop for a bathroom break and to get some snacks. We already plan on coming back to Maine next summer and we want to take the tour again!

I am a Stephen King fan and my wife came along just to come along, and we both really enjoyed the tour. I loved seeing places where King drew inspiration for his stories, and learning more about the history of Bangor and the Kings place there. Stu is an amazing guide, who knows an incredible amount about King and his stories. 3 hours sounded like a long time to me, but it flew by. Well worth the time and money!
While in the Bangor area this is a must do. This is the second tour we take and would do it again. Very informative and whether you are a Stephen King fan or not you will learn so much and fully enjoy this tour. We had Stu in the past but this time we had his son Jamie.
The Stephen King tour is great! My husband hasn’t read much SK but he too really enjoyed the tour. Jamie is knowledgeable and fun! We learned so much about the history of “Derry” aka Bangor, as well as what inspired some of the stories. The cemetery stop was a highlight! We highly recommend this tour!

Amazing tour. If you’re a Stephen king then this is a must. Great knowledge by the driver and friend of Mr King. Amazing to see all of the inspirations for his books particularly “IT”. Standpipe, drain, barrens etc. Also took in locations from pet semetary, creep show and Carrie. Went to Stephens Radio station and told us all about the great work he and Tabitha do in the community. Cannot rate this tour highly enough. Apparently Stephen pops out occasionally to chat to the tour participants but not on the day we went. If you’re in Bangor, you must do this tour. The best 3-4 hours of my life. 🎈🤡
This tour is AMAZING!! My husband and I wanted to do something fun and different and this was perfect for us. We really enjoyed ourselves the whole time and learned so much about Stephen King as a person, and a little history about Bangor too. Our tour guide Jamie was awesome and so incredibly knowledgeable about everything SK. I am so happy we did this and we will definitely be coming back again, very worth it and it made our whole trip! Jamie also recommended an awesome place for lunch that was based on a restaurant from IT, we had an amazing meal and a great time with that too so thank you!! Couldnt have been a better day. Stu (owner, guide) is the man, and he knows Stephen personally as he used to own a bookstore in Bangor.I am a constant reader of Stephen King, and have read more than half of his books after I picked up an old battered copy of The Eyes of the Dragon 3 years back. The wife and I had a vacation to Boston planned and we took a couple of days to head up to Bangor, and I cannot understate how amazing this tour was if you are a Stephen King fan. Stu was able to show us many actual places used in books, as well as various inspirations for characters or places in Kings books as well. He had a satisfying answer for every random question I had along that theme as well - one as obscure as asking what influenced the architectural design of Derrys library in the book IT (based on a part of the library in Bangor that Stephen King bankrolled). My wife hadnt read any of his books at the time (she has since been converted), but she still loved the tour - Stu was very entertaining and the information provided was interesting.In other words, not only has he read just about everything Stephens ever written, but hes often gotten to talk to the man himself about it as well. Stu was also able to show and tell us about the various ways that Stephen and Tabitha are active in their community - its honestly amazing what the Kings do for their neighbors and fellow Mainers.TL;DR - This tour is SO VERY MUCH worth it and a must-see if you are a fan of Stephen King. Even if youre not a fan, its still a lot of fun.
This tour was the best thing ever! I bought my tickets in January and we were so thrilled that April was finally here! My fiancé is a huge SK’s fan and he couldn’t stop smiling throughout the tour. Our guide was the most amazing, funny, sweet and professional guy that I’ve ever met. Will definitely come back again with my mom! Best tour in town! ❤️
This was a fabulous tour! The guide is extremely knowledgeable of the most recent and last Stephen King info. This was truly a wonderful experience for both my fiancé who is a huge SK fan and myself who knows very little about SK. If you are in Bangor this is a must do and if you’re not, it’s worth the trip !
Make sure you go to their website. They were closed the whole week I was out their. Google shows open their site shows nothing available for tours. So either they are so busy with tours or they were not open. I was at all the Haunts and I never saw a tour going on. One time I saw an older lady telling some stories at SK house but it did not seem like a tour. If you want a tour make sure it isnt something you plan on while you are there. Do it in advance if you can.
Jamie did an excellent job giving a brief history of Bangor and a comprehensive dive into the world of Stephen King. This tour was loads of fun and I would highly recommend it for King fans and nonfans alike.

Everything a Stephen King fan can ask for! There’s a story on every corner and too many landmarks from his books and movies to count! You can get out at multiple stops to walk around and take pictures. There’s first hand accounts that you wouldn’t hear anywhere else. Janie was our tour guide and he was phenomenal. So many great anecdotes in addition to Bangor history. Would definitely recommend!
Jamie is an expert in all things Stephen King. The tour showed us so many places that inspired Stephen to write It, Insomnia, Carrie, Pet Semetery, and more. He also showed us how the King’s philanthropy has shaped Maine and Bangor. I highly recommend this tour and will take it again when we revisit Maine.

Our party was comprised by a Stephen King book fan, a movie fan, a tag along, and two kids :) Everyone had a great time!!! If you are not sure if this tour is good for you, don’t think! Just go for it!!!
My family recently did this tour in July and had such an amazing time. It was so neat to see all of the places that were inspiration for the Stephen King novels, where some filming occurred, and his residence. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about SK and Bangor history. I always love to learn new things when I travel and this was the perfect tour for that. Highly recommend to SK fans! We ended up watching some SK films and buying some of his books when we got home.
My family and I had SUCH a great time. The tour FLEW by and was just as much a history tour as a Stephen King tour. Truly does such a great author justice. Tour guide was great. His knowledge and his love for King and his works are very evident and makes the tour THAT much better.

You might think 3 hours is long for a tour... its not! I was entertained the whole time. A big bonus is the tour guide is friends with Stephen King. This was definitely the highlight of our vacation. I would recommend this to any horror fan.

This tour was absolutely FABULOUS! I have never read or seen a Stephen King book or movie and Ive never had much of an interest but by golly, this tour was impeccable! The tour guide is the friendliest man I have ever met and he was so informative. His driving was excellent and his talking was as well. The tour is a fantastic mixture of Stephen King along with general facts about Bangor. I was not bored for a single moment and felt so happy the entire trip. Part of what made the experience so special was the fact that our guide knew Stephen personally and was able to give any fact you could ever ask for. The guide was willing to stop anywhere for any reason at anytime. I felt so safe for the duration of the experience and couldnt believe the level of excellence this tour was. It was worth every penny and Id definitely go again. I would recommend this tour to absolutely anyone who comes to Maine. My expectations were blown out of the water and I am so happy to have been able to go on the tour. The five stars are well deserved and 100% honest.

I took this tour twice! It is absolutely amazing and beyond worth the money! Stu Tinker and family are so knowledgeable and accommodating. My daughter is a huge King fan and she received this tour as a gift. She loved every single second. This tour is absolutely incredible! Stu is the nicest and most informative tour guide possible. He can tell you anything and everything about Stephen King or Bangor, Maine in general. He will stop anywhere you’d like, King related or not, to get a photo or to even get a drink! His driving is wonderful, you feel completely safe the entire trip. He is also very accommodating to everyone. There was a woman from France on our trip, so he made sure she could always understand. You go to the most fascinating places in Bangor and really learn so much about his books. I’ve read a good few of his books, and Stu was telling me things I didn’t even know about the books I had read. We thought the tour might be a bit expensive at first, but it is worth every single penny, if not more. It’s a great tour that everyone that visits Bangor should experience.

This was AWESOME! if youre King fan, this is a must, no matter where you are in Maine. It was a 3 hour tour taking you to various places that either may have inspired some of his works or even places where certain scenes from movies were shot. Our tour guide was a super nice and humorous local. He knew what he was talking about and was very personable. While in Maine this past week I probably told at least ten groups of people they need to check this tour out! Super fun for a King nerd!

My husband took me on this tour for my 40th birthday. It was my first time in Maine. The van arrived on time and was very comfortable. My daughter, Becca and I had an unforgettable time on the SK Tour! Our guide was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. He knows Stephen King personally and referred to him as Steve! Oh my goodness - I could not stop smiling. We were able to see actual book/movie spots and places that inspired his writings. We also learned what a good person he is - donating his time, efforts and needed funds to the hospital and library. He also helped out a local bookstore. Lastly, was seeing his house. He is the most genius writer and lives a normal life in a quiet neighborhood. I love Stephen King! No matter whats going on in your life, you can read his books and escape into an alluring, interesting, suspenseful world - from the first few pages then ongoing because his writing is so fluid and brilliant you have to keep reading!
