Impossible to contact via phone. PO Boxes inaccessible outside of working hours? This is something Ive never had to deal with before. Staff always friendly, but Im more concerned about the ability to retrieve my mail and have questions answered.

Cant reach anyone by phone and they sent me a message to phone them. Every other local post office has someone who answers the phone. Is the Bangor Post Office requiring people in Bangor to travel into the post office when they say call?My grade for the Bangor Post Office is F. My recommendations is to close the down.

I work on Main Street and since the pandemic started have seen many different carriers walk through our doors. We have signage on these doors that says masks must we worn upon entry...cause ya know pandemic. We havent had an issue until today. The carrier entered with no mask sunglasses on and an attitude. I told her we require masks inside and she responded with do you want your mail or not? When asked to please put on a mask she replied with I dont have one. Alarming to hear as an employee of the government in a state that still has a mask mandate in place. She then threw a hissy fit by us asking her to wear a mask in the future, and again threatened not bringing is mail. Let me note that we have tried to use the mail holding service to prevent this from happening but we cant do that without paying for it. In a time when small businesses are suffering and trying to have the least amount of people in the building, its outrageous that USPS isnt on board with this as a viable option. I would much rather be complaining to customer service, but the local phone number doesnt connect and I get told its an invalid number. Bottom line is this issue needs to be resolved. That young woman needs to to held accountable for her actions. To say Im disappointed in the Bangor USPS is an understatement.

Edited: My below opinion is still true its a scam. But there are some amazing employees here. Some not so. Mixed bag. The amazing ones should know who they are. They try really hard to be helpful.Prices are an absolute ripoff. A 16x12x12 should not be 2-3x as expensive as a 12×12×12. So sick of this.

I dont understand why they dont have a larger dropbox. I sell online and also work so its never open when Im done. Just have a larger dropbox outside then. Its terrible

Well i send stuff here and pick up stuff here very often its a good facility sometimes has a long line but none the less it goes by quickly usually its like 10 mins or so if had a long line also its right by the road so can walk there fast not far from me i love to order stuff

Cant talk to anyone at the post office. The recording says to talk to a representative please hold then it just repeats the automated menu. It never actually gets to a live person to ask about concerns as if they really dont want to talke to us. I would have given a 0 out of 5 but it wouldnt let me.

I used the USPS daily, not only for paying bills but sending letters (the old-fashioned, handwritten letters) with photos included. My relatives enjoy receiving mail occasionally, especially since not everyone is computer savvy and not everyone can go to pick up mail at a PO box.

This Post Office is by far the best as far as location in downtown goes. Great service and help at the desk. Great prices for your P.O. Box. Clean and a safe place.

Waiting for a small package, delivery time stated 3PM. I put my entire afternoon on hold in anticipation of said package. Saw postal truck outside my apartment 154PM, poked my head out, postal worker makes eye contact, I go back into my place. Two minutes later I hear her van door slam as she drives off, never knocked, never indicated in any way she had a package for the building, left a nice yellow ticket in my mailbox to tell me to pick up my package tomorrow. So come an hour early, dont attempt to get a signature, now I wait another day to go get my stuff myself at the post office. Lazy, negligent, just plain ignorant. And you wonder why Amazon and FedEx and a host of others are making you people obsolete. Not impressed.

I go in to pick up a package that was supposed to be delivered to my door (no recipient I guess?) that day. I just wanted to see if the package was there and she gave me a very mean look and a crappy response. The staff needs to be a bit more customer appealing. Not a great first impression 👎

If I could give zero or negative review I would!!!I am writing a formal complaint to one of your employees due to the very poor customer service I received yesterday.We arrived 30mins early to our appointment for a passport and passport photo. Im aware that Im early and it says on the letter to arrive 15mins early anyway.We were rudely been told that we are early and to wait which I did with my 3months old baby. I have noticed that the guy after 3:30pm has still been seeing other people with post instead of me who arranged an appointment in advance. My son and I ended up waiting in this very cold weather as he was running late with people who doesnt have an appointment.Another employee took pity on us as I have a baby with me and approached us by this time they are already 10mins late for my appointment, to say that they can NOT take a photo of an infant as they dont have a white backdrop!Firstly, I should have been told about the white backdrop as soon as we arrived.Secondly, I should not have been told off for arriving early as I am fully aware I have to wait for my appointment schedule.Last but not the least, they should apologise if they are running late for my appointment as they are fully aware I am waiting with my infant son as I have arranged an appointment and have a letter with me.It is the first time in my life I have experienced this type of treatment, unacceptable behaviour and very poor customer service.The inconvenienced, waste of time and great amount of stress as I am with my infant son has reduced me to tears!I would like a confirmation that you received my complaint and to hear from your complaints manager as soon as possible.

Mail carrier just leaves packages in the rain cannot open door and drop them. Phone and find the supervisor and she acts like the carriers union representative instead of a customer service supervisor. What a joke this outfit is.

Its hard to find because it doesnt even look like a post office. Extremely limited parking. Also hard to Enter & Exit area. Far less mail boxes than their old location. Tiny retail area that gets very cramped when crowded. Also they never seem to have more than 2 out of the 5 registers open even when they are crowded, so its not good for local business when people are in a hurry or during holidays. I can understand 2 clerks open if its a slow day but it often seems they are under staffed, though on rare occasions such as Christmas they probably do have more clerks at the registers. It looks more like a Postal Substation in a small town than a bigger city. It shares a parking lot with the near by County Jail as well as other services with only like 20+ parking spots. Pedestrians need to be very careful because of hurried turning traffic that pulls in quickly around a blind spot created by the corner of the building. I almost got hit by vehicles on several occasions when I chose to walk. Even though I dont drive Ive often had friends take me and weve had a hard time finding parking. One last thing is their Exit area which is a sharp weird turn down to Franklin St where there are blind spots from parked cars, also pedestrians need to cross at the mouth of the exit and are often cut off by exiting traffic in a rush to get out. Franklin St. is also a busy street. They used to have a loud alarm that would sound and a sign that warned people of exiting traffic but nearby businesses got annoyed by the high pitched tone sounding all day long (they seemed to have shut off the sign). But as you can see from my post and that of others this was a very unrealistic choice of both location and functionality.

Friendly staff but this facilitys location and parking and size is NOT adequate. Although I live in Bangor, I use the Hampden PO or the Brewer PO because it is so much easier to find parking and the size of the lobby is much better suited. Time to look for a new location for the Bangor PO!

The place is in need of a complete revamp. A very poor location--especially for driving in and out. Efficient customer service is not really a thing here. Staff is friendly most of the time. This specific location is doomed to be inadequate forever.

I work for the USPS! they claim to have delivered a package to me worth 179$ on a day I wasnt working, had the day off sat 7/13/19 no one delivered anything that day. so now I am out the money, they refuse to reimburse me! to say I am beyond upset is an understatement!

Drove over for a passport, but their policy is to make an appointment. They should put this on their website so that people dont make unnecessary trips in. I had already checked their website for the hours that I could get a passport but theres no mention of needing an appointment.
