My dentist retired during the pandemic so decided to try Aspen. Didnt know what to expect but it went extremely well. Very friendly office staff, hygienists, and dentist all made for a pleasant experience. Will finish my dental work here and continue to go to back to them moving forward. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get their dental work done.

This place is cutting edge and very professional. My ceramic filling was a modest choice compared to other place in Bangor that insisted I needed a root canal. Go here and get a second opinion before you let some old school dentist rip you off.

I went for my first visit today. I had xrays, the hygienist checked my gums, and the dentist did an exam. Then they said they would take me up front to check out. I said I havent had my cleaning and they informed me that the cleaning would be a separate visit.Never in 45 years of dental visits have I not received a cleaning at an appointment. This was not something that was disclosed to me when I made the appointment, and if they had I would have never come here. If this is their policy, they should let their patients know up front. It was a complete waste of my time and money and there is no chance I will be returning there, or to any other aspen dental office.

I called in the morning with a broken tooth and severe pain and was directed to come straight into the office. I was seen quickly and the Dr was very to the point, yet compassionate towards my situation. He addressed my symptoms and offered different remedies for my comfort and financial needs. The first visit was great. Very friendly and did all the Exrays for free. So they told me what I needed done which would have totaled over $2000.00. One of the things they said I needed was a back molar removed due to infection. So I go back I was paying with cash so the price went down. The dentist that came in was not the dentist I thought would be doing the procedure. She poked my tooth with a needle of Novocaine then went to remove the tooth It was worst then giving birth. It was not numb. After 2xs of yanking and still wasn’t numb another person comes in and she gave me more novocaine then she made sure my tooth was ready to be pulled which it was. It been over 2 weeks And I have a bump on the side of my gum where the tooth was pulled and it is not healing right. Tried calling yesterday Friday but they close at 12. I suggest not going to these people.

I had severe dental anxiety for many years. Not any longer! I went to the practice in Bangor, Me. Never have I been taken care of with so much kindness and professionalism. For the first time I didnt even feel the novocaine injections. They fixed my two teeth so well that when looking you cant tell the difference between the fixed tooth and my natural teeth. If every dentist was as caring as Aspen, nobody would be afraid to go. Thank you so much for doing what you do!

Made an appointment months in advance and just like other reviewers stated they said I never made an appointment even though I had a confirmation email from them! The Ellsworth location is no better. I wasted to much time waiting at these appointments. Also note that if you are a new patient they wont do any work during the first appointment (if they have an opening sometime that day they will) even if you state you need a cleaning. Why would anyone want to set up two separate appointments when they can just do the work in one sitting.After getting my x-rays (in Ellsworth) they had me stand in the hallway because they failed to prepare a room in advance. I dont mind waiting but 2 hours is a little excessive for a 15 minute appointment.Get organized, get help, get professional

I went in with a severe toothache. The personnel was friendly. However, the dentist examined my tooth a stated that a cavity. This was obvious to me since I could see and feel it. I was given an option of pulling tooth or having a root canal. Since it was a front tooth, I chose root canal. The dentist stood up and went to the assistant and informed her that she didnt have time for this and politely stated that she had to finish another patient and would be back. A few minutes later the assistant asked me to follow her into another office. I asked what was going to be done about my tooth. No answer. I was lead into someones office. When she asked how my visit went, I informed her that I came in with an aching tooth and leaving with a aching tooth. I was then informed that I was just scheduled for the dentist to look at tooth not for a procedure. Needless to say, I left office mad and still in severe pain. I will NEVER go back again.

I went there because of my severe toothache. Though they were really busy and fully booked, they still attended me and did 30mins filling. I really appreciate on what they’ve done. They could’ve easily told me to take pain reliever and come back on other day with appointment but didn’t. They’re really awesome!

My experience was a mixed bag. I had a filling done in Oct 2020. Dentist was kind, efficient, knowledgable. Filling ended up not having tight enough contact so they redid at no charge. Same dentist. Again, kind, caring, competent. No complaints. They were also very tolerant of having my toddler present for the procedure, while other offices Id called gave a sigh and cant you get a sitter? So at that point Id have given a 5 star rating.I decided to just go for a cleaning. Had my appt yesterday. Now, Id had a previous bad experience with another branch of Aspen Dental about a year and a half ago where I felt they were trying to upsell me but given my positive experience with the filling here at the Bangor branch I thought that other experience must have been a one-off and there was no way this branch - and especially this dentist - was going to try to blow smoke at me.Well, show up for the cleaning and I have been assigned a different dentist - not the one who did my filling. Fine, I understand multiple dentists work there and with scheduling constraints maybe I had to be reassigned. But this second dentists doesnt seem particularly bright or concerned. I tell her an experience a few years back where I feel I got talked into a root canal (NOT at Aspen Dental) when the tooth really could have taken a filling and her only response was, Well, hindsights 20-20. Then we have the periodontal exam. The hygenist reads off 5s (depth of periodontal pocket) and tells me I have early periodontal disease. This is EXACTLY what happened at the other branch, and Ive had two cleanings since then and was told my gums were healthy and none of the pockets deeper than a 3.I say I dont want the deep cleaning, I just want a regular cleaning. They say they cant do that. The dental assistant tells me that if they give me a regular cleaning when I need a deep cleaning, the hygenist could lose her license. Really? I just said Ill pay you for the exam and leave. They told me I had 4 cavities, well I had a cleaning and exam at another dentist in July and they only mentioned one cavity, the one I got filled at Aspen in October, so apparently 4 new ones since July? Not impossible, but Im suspicious. They also didnt show me the cavities on the x rays and on one of them it seemed they just wanted to redo an amalgam filling which has never given me any problems.Having said all that, they were again really kind to my toddler - she had a great time! - and there was a snafu where my card got declined and I had to leave and come back with another payment form and they were very nice about that too.All in all I think theyre okay for SOME things, just have to use some discernment.

I had an appointment 1st appointment in the morning. When I got there they told me I didnt have an appointment. The gave my appointment away To other people. I was not happy. So they said if I wanted to be seen I would have to come back at 4:30. I had to wait out there for 7 hours. For them to see me.. The Dentist Was very nice.. I will never go back there. I had a terrible experience.

Little disappointed my dentist left the company. We had a plan for the dental work I need done. The new dentist has a different plan which I am ok with. I have neglected my teeth out of fear of the dentist but hey have never made me feel embarrassed about my teeth. I still feel nervous when I go to my appointment but they do everything to help elevate that fear. Everyone is friend there. The wait time in the lobby is never too long. Over all I am very happy there.

My appointment was at 1:15 pm they asked me to come in at 1 pm for paperwork so I did.I sat in the waiting room till 1:45I was taken in for x ray then put in Dentist chair where I waited until 2:15 then the dentist came in looked at my teeth we talked for a couple of minutes then she left. Then they took me to a waiting room where I waited another 10 minutes, to talk to a person about how much it would cost. By the time I got out of there it was after 3 pm. And there were not a lot of people there only 2 ahead of me and they were already being seen.I dont know why they make appointments.to me this is unacceptable. I was very disappointed.

I had some fillings done recently at this office and the service was amazing. Dr. Kim was friendly, very efficient, and did excellent work on my teeth! My appointment took less time than what I had expected and the cost was very affordable. I then had the pleasure of sitting with Amber who took care of discussing my remaining treatment plan. She took the time to explain my plan, help me afford the remaining costs of my treatment, and made me feel excited about taking care of my oral hygiene. Thank you Amber for all of your help - you are truly amazing! Its rare to go to an office that you know that the staff and dentist actually care about you and treat you like family. Great service! Dr. Kim is very pleasant and makes the typical dentist visit easy and comfortable. The hygienist that works with me every six months is an absolute joy, her rooting around in my mouth is something that I actually look forward too...just short of a (slightly painful) trip to the spa (ya, know, for folks that cant afford a fancy spa visit)...I know, thats weird...but THAT is how good this practice is!So, if you are looking for considerate, gentle, friendly, mouth miners, this is your place!!!

Our family transferred our care to Aspen from a different provider and the difference is night and day-Katie, the hygienist was fantastic and went above and beyond to make sure my daughter was comfortable. She was very informative and offered great guidance for our home care routine. The dentist was indifferent. She showed no connection or empathy. She was rough. Never asked me if I was doing ok during an hour long procedure. I was getting a temp crown of a front tooth! which by the way was greater than $700 in cash! The front staff and the dental asst was way more invested and caring. The dentist never said goodbye or assessed me when she was done. She simply left the room. Not impressed. I will return for perm. Crown however if her next interaction with me is this poor, I will go somewhere else.

Dr Kim at the Bangor Aspen Dental is fantastic. I have a front tooth crown that a prior dentist did at Aspen. It has come off 5 times now and Dr Kim has glued it on at no cost each time. I know it’s not my fault the other dentist did it wrong, but Dr Kim is trying to make it right. I know I will have to pay again for the problem to be fixed, but Dr Kim shouldn’t carry another’s mistake by not charging. I just hope they take payments😏

Not recommend it. Dental staff for procedures and cleaning here are ok. With everything else administrative, billing, even just talking to someone, I have had nothing but struggles with this dental clinic.Due to an infection, I had to have a tooth extracted, which was taken care of and normal. The check-out person must have been new because she didnt know how to look up my insurance correctly and charged me twice what my insurance should have had me pay. A month later, I got another bill, but this one said that I had 2 separate appointments each with a tooth pull and each bill was still due. When I called to get it resolved, I left a message. I did this nearly every day for 2 weeks. I finally went into the clinic in person to resolve it. They said they never called back because they had no idea how to look it up to take care of it, not a single person in the office knew. I finally had to have my insurance resolve it with them after I raised the flag for fraudulent insurance billing.A month after the extraction, I would be moving out of Bangor for work and they said they could fax the dental information to my new dentist. When I moved and called to have them send the information, I got stuck in the phone tree and I left a message. Again and again. I did this on multiple occasions and even my new dentists staff called multiple times without so much as a call back or even an attempt (based on my caller ID). This meant that I had to be charged for an extra exam and images at the new dentist.Edit: since leaving this review, the staff has changed apparently and Ive been contacted a few times to fix the issues and send my information to the my new dentist, for which I added a couple stars. That doesnt change what happened, but perhaps they have improved the last 6 months.

My tooth was aching real bad. Went to Aspen Dental and they did a great job saving me some caps since the NCR doesnt provide insurance. The doc gave me some chems to numb me up and yanked that tooth right out. Now I can get back to patrolling the Mojave.

Some of the staff are extremely friendly, however, that does not make up for the rest of it. Their billing person, Melissa, is one of the sweetest and most patient people I have ever met. That said, I have never had as many issues with a medical office as I have with Aspen. Ive had them work on my teeth without numbing, not believe me when I tell them I can still feel everything when they did give numbing, Ive had them numb the wrong side of my mouth thinking we were doing a root canal on a completely different tooth, and Ive been scammed out of hundreds of dollars. I prepaid for my most recent services and was told when I left I was all set, only to get a letter four months later saying I was going to be sent to collections if I didnt come up with $400. I reached out to the office and got 3 different stories. One said, we had you prepay 60% and then expected you to pay the last 40% when you left. The next person said, insurance kicked back and didnt cover it all. Another said, Your insurance is billing like we are out-of-network. When I called my insurance they told me it was because they only cover silver fillings but I chose white fillings so I have to cover the difference. They also said Aspen knew this before my appointment and should have told me this. They did not. The whole experience has felt slimy from the beginning and I should have trusted my gut after my first cleaning when they tried to push me into purchasing a ton of products I didnt want.My fiance when here as well, he was told he had a spot of mild gingivitis but that he would be fine after coming back for annual/biannual cleaning. His insurance covers these at 100%. When leaving the receptionist said it would be $100. We asked why, she said it was because they did a gingivitis cleaning and he will have to come back for a normal cleaning. He was not asked if he wanted this service, no one told him it would be a different type of cleaning. They just did it and expected him to pay on the other side.They also never answer their phone, and if they do they take your number and say someone will call back, they rarely do.

When I walked in the office it was a warm welcome right away. They are all very friendly there. The receptionist immediately spoke to me and took the new patient paperwork that I brought in. She made sure I had filled out everything and signed everything that needed to be signed.The Lady who came and got me was with me through most of the time I was there. She was a very nice lady and answered any questions that I might of had at that time. She took the X-Rays and then got me ready to see the Dentist. The Hygienist came in and checked my gums to see what type of treatment I would need for cleanings. When the Dentist came in he checked over all the X-Rays and discussed what needed to be done for dental work and why it needed to be done. He was also very nice and explained to me my options for a partial denture. He told me I had two options. He told me the options then suggested that the cheaper priced partial denture would be the best choice for me. When I was done with him I went in and saw another person who set up the appointments and helped me figure out a payment plan so that I could make payments on my dental work that I needed done. The whole experience made me feel comfortable and confident that they will take care of all my dental needs with professionalism and treat me like a person not just another patient. I would highly recommend them to others.

I hadnt been to the dentist in over a decade, therefore requiring ample work to be done. Theres rarely a time you have to wait for more than 10 minutes to be called back and again when youve been brought to the back before the work begins. The staff is knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and understanding of the process. If my old experiences w/dental hygiene had gone this smoothly and painlessly, I would have never stopped going!

We are new to the area, and I needed to get my 91-year-old mother into see a dentist quickly since she broke a lower first molar over the weekend and had an abscess on that tooth as well. She was in moderate discomfort, and the jagged tooth edges were cutting into the side of her tongue. I called this office for my mom, as a new patient, on Monday morning. They were very pleasant and accommodating over the phone, and we got in that very same day. The front desk ladies were very friendly, and made us feel welcome. The dental assistant was friendly and compassionate, and very patient with my mom (who is hard of hearing). The dentist was also very pleasant and welcoming. They could not save the tooth, and we agreed to have it removed. The DDS had that tooth out of there very quickly and efficiently, and mom left a very happy customer. We felt the bill was fairly charged for the services rendered. We did not feel like anyone was trying to take advantage of us. We just felt like they were there to do their jobs and help patients to feel better. We will definitely go back there for our dental needs. It was a positive experience for mom and myself.

If I could give Arlene at Aspen Dental in Bangor, Maine 10 stars I would. She does AMAZING work and is excellent at what she does! She is extremely friendly and will go that extra mile to make sure that you are satisfied. She makes sure you know to never hesitate to make an appointment if needed or to stop in if you need a repair. I would highly recommend her if you are considering dentures or ever need denture repair.

I had a crown done 5 months ago. It fell off at work. I went in to be seen. The scheduled me 4 days later. I owed a small balance on the crown, I still have to pay even if the crown only lasted a few months. Went in to have crown replaced, I now needed surgery. I am responsible for the surgery bill. It my eyes, it’s all about the money.

I was seen by 2 other local dentist offices in Bangor. I had a severe infection and was in excruciating pain. Dr. Kim was kind, compassionate and understanding. Im very impressed. (Although, I might be getting a big bill, because my xrays werent forwarded to the dentist office before my appointment. Delta is going to receive 2 bills for the same xrays- they only cover 1 every several years.)

Very pleased. The office was able to work me in for an emergency appointment. I had little wait time in the office, the doctor explained the entire procedure and worked to alleviate my anxiety. I would highly recommend this office.

I got there early...about 15 minutes ahead of time, but had to wait 1/2 hour. Then I was told that I was to have xrays and see the dentist for an exam. Prior to the appointment, I was not told this. So I declined this until the next appointment.The hygienist was pleasant, apologized, and cleaned my teeth.

Really pleased, I usually hate the dentist to the point of avoiding it. I was made to feel welcome, comfortable and actually had a pleasant experience. Friendly staff and they really took the time to answer any questions I had.
