Recently had my Story and Clark Piano moved from Fredericksburg VA to Glen Dale Md and needed tuning after 8 weeks to settle. My tuner was not able to travel to MD from VA to tune piano. Every piano has a unique voice, sound and personality. I am fortunate to have 5 in my living room. Jonathan is the ninth piano tuner that I have worked with over 40 years, and is one of the best. He tunes style in a style that I had not seen before: he tunes at the forte = loud level of each note. This technique locks the sound at the right pitch, so the note sounds clear, no matter what level it is played. And, for my needs, each piano is tuned to same pitch, so that they can harmonize with each other, albeit with their own voice.

Jonathan did an excellent and thorough job of tuning my Everett console upright piano, which hadnt been tuned for a number of years. After doing a quick analysis, he determined the piano was 19 cents flat (which is about a fifth of a semitone) and might require a second tuning. However, he worked diligently on it and, after two passes, was able to bring it into tune. It sounds great now.

Just great service overall from a great individual. Jonathan Kimbrell came by today and tuned our home piano which we recently received from family. Having never been serviced in 20+ years, the piano was a little bit worse for wear, but Jonathan came by and gave an honest, upfront assessment of the instrument. Prior to tuning the piano, he made sure I was aware the risks that are taken on a piano that was in the condition ours was in (like how corrosion and rust could cause strings to break when re-tuned). Our piano needed multiple passes to get back in-tune, and I believe that he worked on it until the job was done right. Theres no mistaking that Jonathan demonstrates ownership and pride in his work, and when he left theres no doubt in my mind that he did the best work possible for our piano.
