Applied with Profiles, both by sending my resume and applying for a specific position. Tried following up with them, got transferred to a recruiter named Katie Bankard, left her a message, heard back absolutely nothing. Called back again and this time spoke with the vice president himself, John Hayes, who told me I wasnt qualified for the position and that I was up against 70+ others who were. Okay, so then why havent you hired someone...?When I asked if any other positions were a possibility for me, I was then asked if I even was aware of what staffing agencies do. Dont insult my intelligence - I acquired my last job of almost 2 years through a staffing agency. I guess it was my mistake for thinking this agency would want to be helpful since its in their best interest (after all, the people they help out end up contributing to the companys paycheck). The vice president sounded apologetic as if aware of the morally repulsive nature of completely turning someone looking for a job away. Just glad Im not in that kind of position - where Im forced to do things that I know are not right. My issue lies not in being told Im not qualified for a single position... really, I can handle that much. My issue lies in being told, Sorry, we cant and wont help you at all. Disappointed in this experience and would encourage others to steer clear of Profiles. Unfortunately, the positive reviews here gave me false hope. I hope, conversely, that mine can convince at least a few people to spend their time looking elsewhere.

Ive had an outstanding experience working with Profiles. Claire was very persistent in looking for opportunities that matched my skills and has been very helpful in every step of finding a new job. In my case, it was actually over a period of several years that she would contact me regarding new opportunities; even though none ever lined up prior to the last, Claire never gave up or stopped looking.
