This place needs to be investigated. they serve you rotten, moldy expired food. they favor certain types of people, as in theyll help certain people and drag their feet on other people. most of those services they advertise online they dont even do in real life. if someone made a call to the right person this place would get shut down

I work for job development and have experienced how they greatly help women and families get back on their feet,stay stable and insure hope in desperate situations.theyve helped alot of homeless families with a forever home as well as food, clothes and job training and jobs.for that Im grateful.

They do good work. Providing housing to indigent women, children and men. They help with re-housing, serviceable clothing and what can be called food if you are hungry enough. There are plenty of problems with the place and the way its run, but it makes the best it can given what and who it has to work with. Please donate gently used items of any kind, I really mean anything a human can use, it helps more than you would believe.

The place to go for a new beginning

I lived at the shelter for 7 months it was great all i had to do was put in my hours and i got a bed there all the workers was nice there

Good place to bring stuff to help the needed. Mostly women and children but they do have some single dads there with their children.

I am a volunteer and thank God every time i visit this place because those who seek help will find it here . the offer beds and food to as many as they can . i wrk at Olive Garden and gather up the bread that is left over and donate as much as i can to BHC. I also offer some encouraging words of the bible since i am a Christian . Just trying to do the Lords will and be the light in a dark world in Jesus name amen.🙏🙇😄💙💚💜❤lets come together and help in our community as we can. Everything and anything is a blessing.

This place help a lot of people but you must call 211 first.

The rules are kinda lacking. They allow 51/50s into Bethanys Services Homeless Center. If you dont want your children around crazy people dont come here. Just some FYI.

Ill never forget what this place done for me. Im a better person today than I was for years ago. They are truly A Way Up.

Most helpful place for homeless people, they do lot of great service to the people in the community. We have been there to donate some food, clothes and toys. They are very well organized with different sections like food, donations etc areas.

Good one to assist people when they cannot afford house or bills. Friendly dorm staffs, social workers, and some people who sleep there nice too. Wow. Provided cool clothes, personal needs, blankets, pillows, shoes, socks, jackets, masks, underwears, and etc ONLY AT First Day. Give you 3 free meals per day. Supports you with housing. Warn with you. The staffs will straight you with what you disbehave. Follow rules and you will be fine to get a housing. God Bless. Be caution and careful around crazy.

The staff are very helpful. However due to the fact Im in a wheelchair and need a bottom bunk there is no room for me. I call every day to keep my name on the waiting list and when there is an opening I will be staying there while I try to find a place to live.

I work here! They do amazing things for people who are down on their luck. Yes some of the people who live there have social issues, but for the most part everyone is helpful and friendly

This is a great place to volunteer. I am a CSUB student and I volunteer in the Rainbow Room where I take care of children and play with them (e.g., toys, board games, watching movies). It is a great place to get experience with children and get your hours done.

This place is good if you have nowhere to go but in order to get housing you have to live there at least a year or more

I tried to make a large donation and left a message go the donations manager and never got a callback. The young lady that answered tha phone was as rude an obnoxious as I have ever encountered. To have her customer facing or answering the phone is the best way to stop people from donating. When I explained what happened and asked to be connected to the center manager this rude, obnoxious and completely incompetent young lady gave me tot the voice. Mail of the donations manager. The exact person that couldn’t take the time to call me back after 3 days. I called back and told the young lady I want the center manager not the donations manager. How can a nonprofit organization that relies on donations in kind can have a rude incompetent per be the first person a person wanting to donate needs to talk to. If was ever treated in this manner I wouldn’t donate a half eaten hamburger to these people. I put this on the center director because you never know how an employee will act until they start working there. Stealing from those in need is wrong! Don’t take from people who desperately need the help. I’ve volunteered here and noticed that they purposely underserved the hungry people so that they could take trays of food home. There was another instance where someone very wealthy had donated really good items and I overheard the “volunteers” “staff” some that have been there for a long time saying they were going to take items for themselves and their family members. “These people don’t need this” one said. It’s horrible! They aren’t all bad but something needs to be done. an undercover investigation should be put into place.

No signs nor directions posted when I visited the place. Someone that worked there was very rude and hostile. When looking around for an office or some help threatened to call the cops on me for wondering around. Other people there stopped to ease drop and made the situation more intense. Did get information about hours and staff information after initial ordeal. Seems to be made more for families then single individuals.

I have my own likes and dislikes, but it definitely feels like Im living in a FEMA camp. I am grateful for the help, but I cant wait to get the f*** out of here

Great community resource. Shelter, showers and restrooms. They serve breakfast and diner to the homeless.

I worked through the shelter for a year. Not only do they have awesome saff but great community of people working loving and living together.

This place feeds the homeless and low income people breakfast is served at 7 am and dinner at 4 pm. Ive never left this place hungry.

Dont go to the shelter if you are white! I couldnt take any more discrimination. I left before a month. The staff are so rude and hateful. Dont go if you are married either, they will ruin any relationship that they think they can.

Getting to tour the center, I can say that the staff puts in alot of hard work and do what they can to help all.
