They ripped my Aunt who, Is on disability off for 1300! wrong starter. Said condenser was fixed but then said it burnt up flywheel. Crazy someone that operates like this is still in Business.

On 2/28/2020 my husband took his car to Hernandez Automotive Repair. A deposit of $480 cash was provided; he was told $180 would be the remaining balance for the labor. For weeks we were told the (turbo) part had not arrived due to the current pandemic. My husband called to speak to the owner numerous times and kept getting told the car would be ready soon & then he stopped answering calls and text messages. On 4/14/2020 I reached out to the owner, minutes after my husband called and did not receive an answer. As soon as I told him I was my husband’s wife & began to tell him I was upset the car was not ready, I was told the car would be ready soon. I specifically asked for a completion date or welcomed him to tell me if he could not fix the car. He said the car would be ready on 4/21/2020, told me to have my husband or brother call him (my brother referred him) & hung up on me. On 4/20/2020 he calls my brother (not my husband who is the paying customer) to tell him the car is not ready bc he JUST realized there’s a new problem. My husband showed up today, 4/21/2020 to pick up the vehicle & of course, he said he didn’t think the car was drivable so we paid to have it towed to another auto shop. He then tells my husband he owes him $500 & when my husband referenced the $180 remaining balance he said he didn’t recall that balance & said, “Give me $250 & we’ll call it even.” For two months our car was at this shop & not only was it not Repaired, our calls/messages were ignored, I got hung up, we were bypassed, and ultimately had to pay to have our car towed to another auto shop where it’s currently being worked on. Not to mention, he feels free to charge as he pleases.

They do excellent work. Have known them for a long time.

The only positive I can say is this shop does back warranty work for the most part. But Ive had continuous problems after this shop has done minor to major repairs. A rebuilt engine using more oil that what it still leaks. A transmission still slips after replacing for a 2nd time. He charges a high hourly rate, but rarely does the work himself. I have on going problems going on with 2 vehicles he has done lots of work on. Ive spent thousands on both vehicles. Jose would still possibly attempt to fix problems, but since we have had a falling out due to him putting a third vehicle off for 3 months, LIEING TO ME HE ORDERED PARTS AND NEVER DID, that now I wont trust him to work on a bicycle. And he owes me 150 dollars, and wont give it back to me, for work he never did. Next step is going to the Bureau of Automotive Repair and filing a complaint. Ive also found out that He, Jose, seems to want to settle things the street way. I will handle this problem the legal way.

It is hard to find a good mechanic, but with Hernandez Automotive I found a mechanic that is more than excellent in service and how he treats his customers with respect and courtesy, I would definitely go back to Hernandez Automotive again and again for all my automotive needs.
