While studying for the SAT, for 8 weeks once a week, I did a class with them and three other students. Owen tutored me in Math for my SAT and ACT prep. He was very helpful, personable, and explained concepts in a way that was easy to understand. Kastner Hill Learning can take you as far as you allow it to. I had originally scored a 25 on my act and Owen and Nathan helped bring me up to a 32 within the course of two months. I know both Owen and Nathan from LTP and I can more than vouch for their tutoring services! Not only did they help me jump 250 points in my SAT, but they made the tutoring sessions enjoyable. Owen and Nathan befriend their students in order to make them feel more comfortable in the classroom and create an excellent environment for learning. I also took an introductory Calculus course with Owen, because I was struggling in math. With Owen’s help, I was able to easily achieve a 5 on my AP Calc exam. I entered Nathan and Owens Class expecting a yawn inducing, drivel-filled SAT course, like the many others my parents put me through--Im so incredibly glad I was wrong. Within four classes, I walked out of the large concrete building with SAT prep in one hand, and conceptual math and philosophy in the other. Not only are Nathan and Owen some of the most intelligent people I know, but they also deeply care about the success of their students, and they go out of their way to show it. Whether it was Owen grabbing a platter of food and taking us out on a math picnic, or Nathan giving a passionate lecture on absurdism and a whole list of phenomenal literature recommendations, their care and compassion was palpable. Nathan taught me at LTP(Loudoun Test Prep) and then online for a while. He is an absolutely fantastic tutor. I would give him a sixth star if I could. He helped me increase my SAT score dramatically. I cannot recommend him enough. Great person and a brilliant tutor!

Having Owen and Nate as tutors I learned more than just textbook knowledge. Through their unique, effective programs, I learned how to pass through a standarized test with ease. Unlike other programs, they facilitated learned through fun. In an engaging fashion, I was taught SAT prep for Math and Reading/Writing. With their help, my scores jumped from a 1210 to a 1470. Under their wings, I was taught not only how to slash through a test but how to be a stronger more empathetic thinker.

I knew the two guys who co-founded Kastner Learning from way back in the day at LTP (Loudoun Test Prep). They’re both some of the most laid back people of all time. I’ll start with Owen. When I tell this man is smart it’s more than an understatement. He’s one of those people that you can give a problem that you’ve been stuck on for the longest time. He’ll look at it for about a minute then help you learn it step-by-step before showing you how to solve 4-5 different ways or show you a simplified form if you’ve been overthinking it. Any horrific math problem you can dig out of your brain this man can solve. Now I’ll move onto Nathan. Nathan is the dawg above all dawgs when it comes to anything related to english. Someone reading this is gonna be able to relate to how boring english is with all the books you have to read and all the papers you have to write. Nathan has a way of making it fun and interesting to learn about grammar and how all the verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs, conjunctions, and sentence structure works. Now I know a lot of those words sounded really boring but not when you’re in the presence of Nathan. I can remember one exercise he made the students do it was to create a paragraph using whatever they had learned in class and it could be about anything and I mean anything. I gotta say some of them were hilarious but I’m not gonna get into all that. Overall I would recommend them both to anyone who needs constant help with homework, classwork, or if you’re just trying to study to do the SAT and/or the ACT. They’ve certainly help me see math and english in a way that I know never could’ve before.

I thought that my sessions were worth the money and time! My only concern was with meeting over Zoom, but we made it work.
