Austin Clubhouse has really made an immensely positive impact on my quality of life. This community has been so supportive and has really taught me to discover for myself what recovery looks like for me on my mental health journey. I have found not only a supportive and encouraging community made up of staff and members working alongside each other, but have also been able to get assistance in the form of their Transitional Employment program to further my goals. I am so grateful for such a great organization and community.
The Austin clubhouse is the best place for me that makes my life change it has good the community the best member staff that helped train and have a better life in their careers. Love you all♥️
People at the clubhouse are friendly and inviting keep things update and help others when they are down :)
Best place for people with mental health issues, that want to socialize, volunteer, and get back the working field. I love going and Ive made wonderful friends.
Get over yourself the governor is only making businesses play by the rules of the constitution. Your fear doesnt subvert American rights. If you shutter another organization will take your place, its your choice and nobody elses. Prior to covid you never would have been able to ask for proof of vaccine. We are not dogs and u are not the law
This place helped me get on my fee after being homeless for 3 years. Im 21 now you do the math. The people and atmosphere have me hope, hope I want to share. I recommend the club house for moral support and a place to belong
It is a good place for people with mental illness diagnosis to hang out and learn more about how to manage their symptoms.I personally give them 3 stars because it used to be the best place for me to hang out. I recently went to visit, and the stuff workers are not the same, meaning, they have new stuff members who didnt seem as polite and welcoming as when I used to go, about 2 years ago. There were more women than men working there and they were a lot welcoming than now which is more men than women working there. This is my personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.I didnt feel welcomed this last time I visited, which was about a week ago (around 06-07-2017).
This isn’t what I thought it would be, a hang out place. They do a lot more. It’s run like a business with a casual but professional atmosphere. Social services are offered, as well as recreation and fitness. The main way they help is by getting you involved with their daily operations in the way the suits you best.
Things are getting dangerous at Austin Clubhouse. The executive director Joanna Linden has been harboring at least 2 child molesters under an alias, Vernon Malachi Green and George Dickson all the while allowing children to visit. Local, state and privately donated funds are wasted and not used for what they are intended. Members are not provided help in finding any appropriate employment, despite that being the main selling point of the clubhouse model. Clubhouse International Standards are constantly broken by staff. For members suffering from mental health disorders, Its a very uncomfortable atmosphere cultivated by the staff. Members who have a mental health diagnosis are feeling more and more uncomfortable, isolated, abused and harassed by Joanna Linden, Jen Cardenas, John Michael Krakoski, Mae Newcomb and Amber Goggia. Amplify Austin is coming up soon and I recommend giving your money to a less corrupt nonprofit.
While the mission is stated to help those recovering, there is a high incident of expulsion and banning for minor issues, such as asking for clarifcations of undocumented and caprcious policies, such as the explusion policy and presented with suspension for pursuing that question. Lunch is only $1.
