Owning TexasI was in my last month of living in the apt this realty was renting me, half way through the month I messaged them and complained that the a/c had gone out and the apt was really hot for me and my family especially for my toddler. I got a response the next day around 3:00 asking if I was talking about the central a/c unit or the window unit. I responded that the central a/c was not working. they said they would call someone. a couple days passed and then kyle odiorne came to look at the a/c but did not repair, nor inform me if it was going to get repaired. another day passed and I emailed kyle odiorne asking if the a/c was going to get repaired. I did not get a response. we stayed in the apt for the rest of that week. then just started packing, cleaning and repairing minor items in the apartment. we did not stay there after that week. I messaged them again explaining that we have not been living in the apartment and that we would be completely moved out by the 1st. the only response I got was okay. where did you leave the keys?I called after 30 days to ask about the security deposit and the response was, that they recieved my BBB complaint and just said “you’ll get your deposit when you get it” and then told me not call them again.Now they sent me a notarized letter stating that since a lot of my rent payments were not made on the 1st they are now charging me the late fees and also charging me cleaning fees. We left that apartment clean and repaired what needed tobe repaired on our part. The rest falls under normal wear and tear. So they basically kept most of my deposit.

I had hired an acquaintance to sell my house and he was supposed to help me find a new place but instead he left on vacation without even telling me. I had 2 weeks to find a place to live because my house was sold. I was desperate! I thought it would be impossible but Morgan Duplant from Owning Texas performed a miracle! He not only found me a place in the shortest amount of time, but he got me to move into the house before we even closed! He lent himself to my via texts and emails 24/7 and helped me every step of the way. He was more than just a realtor, hes someone I consider a real true friend. He was a lifesaver! He actually genuinely cares about people. You couldnt find a better person to help you get the home you are looking for!

Very dishonest broker!!!!!I would be very careful dealing with Kyle in any way.There are to many good honest brokers out there to waste time/money with Kyle.

I would not recommend this company to anyone, they dont care about you. All they care about is how they can profit from you and how to cut corners in everything that they do... I know this because I worked for them as a contractor, remodeling homes from the ground up. I myself did every trade and the wage they where willing to pay was pretty low, when I finished a project and asked to renegotiate wages they did everything they could to prolong having to compensate FAIRLY. He talks to people in a condescending tone and takes advantage of people to make a buck. But complains how everyone is screwing him over, when in reality the last 4 people that have worked for him, he has owed money too in the end and always finds a loophole on why he feels justified just not paying at all. And to top it off, they still owe me enough to pay my rent (which Im renting from them) and then some, but refuse to pay up and gave me a notice to vacate for non payment!!!! Im not the only one they did this too and I dont think it will be the last... i would never refer anyone to rent, work for, or buy from this business... and if you choose to do so be careful

Kyle Odiorne is a dishonest realtor. He posts properties like 2501 William cannon drive building 2 on the market for over a year when its not really for sale. Then fishes for customers once you call him. His behavior is really pathetic and and gives everyone in real estate services a bad name. Stay away from this guy if he still has a license.

Let me start by saying Kyle Odiorne is not just a broker, he is your friend and partner. He sees it as if you don’t win, he doesn’t win and from my experience he likes to win! I’ve worked with Kyle on two separate deals (and many more in the coming years) because he’s the best, his team (including his wife) are always available AND he treats each deal as if it were his own personal deal. These are rare qualities in a broker.Every deal with Kyle ends the same way, in excellence. The first was a complicated and time sensitive deal where he assisted in helping to keep a property of ours from foreclosure and didn’t take a penny for his services (unheard of!). The other was a deal where he assisted us in buying a great home at a steal of a price and closed in just over 30 days.Let’s talk about the steal first. Kyle helped us locate a magnificent town home that had been sitting on the market for some time. It had all the best upgrades from plus top quality appliances. Being the professional he is, he walked us through the process, viewed the property (and several others) with us, handled our negotiation completely, got us a great deal (with almost $15,000.00 in upgrades and new appliances for FREE!) and had us closed in just over 30 days.The next deal was a sensitive deal in terms of time and emotions. We were less than two weeks from losing everything, without Kyle we would have. Kyle was very attentive, empathetic and prompt to dealing with our situation. He walked us through the huddles to expect and even helped to make sure the deal was processed per our wishes. Today we still have the home and are eternally grateful to have worked with Kyle on it.Even though it’s been months since these deals completed, Kyle spoke with me just yesterday to check on us and chat, that’s a real friend! A broker who truly cares about you, that’s Kyle Odiorne and Owning Texas.

Run away!Please do yourself a huge favor and dont use Kyle Odiorne as your realtor. My experience was a manically-paced house hunt, most of which were homes over my budget. I was never provided any data on the market of homes I was looking at, such as (available by public tax records) the final selling prices of nearby homes. I was given a record of the asking prices of homes up for sale nearby, which I felt was deceptive misinformation. All in all, I felt rushed and uninformed, passed along to insubordinate staff who provided even less information.

I had a strict budget and very specific ideas on what I wanted in a home and where I wanted this home to be. I’d been renting property in East Austin almost 9 years and my heart was set on this side of town because it has everything I know and love about ATX: beautiful parks, amazing cuisine, weekly farmers markets, and more! I explained all of this to my agent at Owning Texas and immediately we got started. I was prequalified on a pretty strict budget, but I knew what I wanted.We began looking and it became evident to me just how challenging this market can be for a Millennial trying to get in the game so to speak. We found a diamond in the rough, a HUD home in EAST Austin that was under budget and up for auction. Yes, it was a bigger project than I wanted to take on alone, but we placed a bid regardless because it was just a great opportunity! After getting the great news I had won the bid, the fun started to happen! We applied for a 203K loan which was going to supplement the asking price of the property with 35K to renovate  This was like a dream come true because not only did I find my home under budget, in the area of town I wanted, but now I get to work with a contractor to renovate before I move in.I highly recommend working with Owning Texas because they have the ability to relate to the wants and needs of their client. They understand the competition in the market and have 20+ years’ experience in the Austin Market as well as the ability to give references for all the contacts you need to make it through the home buying process including but not limited to: lenders, home owners insurance, contractors, inspectors, appraisers! It really was a one-stop shop for me and I am so pleased with the outcome.

I was pretty stressed and overwhelmed with the process of finding the perfect place for the perfect price, until a beautiful blonde man swooped in and saved the day. Morgan Duplant is quick, knowledgable, and most of all he cares about his clients. Not only did he find me the perfect place, he did it fast and provided me all the moral support I needed. Morgan knows the real estate industry like the back of his hand, but he also strives to know each of his clients just as well.
