This South Austin Planet Fitness is probably the best PF location in the Austin area I have been and I have visited at least 6 or 8 PF locations around Austin.On my Sunday visit the facility was really clean, restrooms, shower areas, locker room way cleaner than most PF locations. All the equipment seemed to be fully functional and in good shape, no torn pads, they had matching handles in on the cable gyms I was using, all the cable clips locked Lat Bars and D Handles properly. Extra fans in some areas for added air flow.Friendly staff as well.Good area, not a lot of questionable characters scoping out your car looking for an opportunity to steal something.By comparison I have been to the Anderson Lane PF location many times and mentioned torn pads, mechanical issues on machines, mismatched handles for their cable crossover gym, rarely does anything seem to get updated and fixed. And cleanliness is marginal at the Anderson Lane PF Location.The South Austin PF team seem like they have their act together. Will definitely visit here again. 👍👍

I like the gym itself but it gets 3 stars for service. I wanted a short term/month pass and the associate who signed me up misled me into thinking that was possible (I ended up with only 2 weeks getting to use the membership I paid for). What a waste of money. But hey if you’re planning on sticking around, great place to workout.

Truly some of the nicest people work here, I get a big boost everytime I walk in and they are excited to see me. Clean facility and good selection of machines.

Planet fitness is the perfect facility for me at this point in my fitness life. Love the no judgment zone and the equipment is safe for my level of fitness. Keep up the good safe environment.

Everytime Im there(4-5 days a week) its never crowded,Im always able to do my routine without having to wait and I appreciate that. The staff is very respectful and ready to assist anyone when help is needed. Planet Fitness is the upper echelon of gyms. I use to be a trainer and I have been a member of several gyms and at Planet Fitness I have found a workout HOME.

Ive been a member since I moved to Austin. I have to say that this is the best subscription you can pay for. Everything might not be as flashy as other places, but the staff is always nice, it is 24 hours, and you can go to any location in the country. In the last 8 years Ive probably been to 60-70 locations. I cant think of a better deal!

This is my go to location. I also use the one on Slaughter ln at times. this place is clean the staff very pleasant. Always very clean and the equipment is always in good shape.

Love this gym! Laid back atmosphere, good prices, always very clean, friendly staff and so glad PF is keeping covid protocols and requiring masks. I want to work out but still be safe. This place is friendly and non intimidating. They are up front about pricing and dont try to suck you into anything

Still under Covid 19 rules(must wear masks). Love the variety of machines to work the different muscle groups. Array of TV screens facing cardio area is a bonus.

This review is my last resort for trying to get some type of resolution or acknowledgement of the issue with the sub titles that do not play on the CNN TV. I have communicated this to the front desk 3 times! 1 time supposedly to a manager. I also communicated this when I received a customer service survey. I was shocked to not get a response from that. What is the point in sending?? I am frustrated because in this current Political environment, there should be equal time for both conservative and liberal news broadcast. I have no interest, whatsoever in watching Fox News. It is strange, because ALL of the other TVs have working sub titles. I feel like the owner must be a conservative and refuses to acknowledge this. If this is the case, please be clear about it so I can go through the painful process of ending my contract. (this is what I am reading on other reviews). If I get no response to this review, I will proceed with cancellation as well. I offered possible solutions, such as playing CNN on another TV? Possibly the FOX channel TV? Or maybe alternate them if it is impossible to simply purchase another TV. As inexpensive as TVs are now, it should not be that big of a deal. I also really am disappointed in having to chronically complain about this. I have not gotten ONE response to my FOUR previous attempts. Not one person at the desk offered to get back to me with a status. No response, crickets to the customer service survey. Again, are you sending these out to simply satisfy a franchise requirement? or do you really care? Finally, here I am at my FIFTH attempt. Its ridiculous to expect a customer to go through so much effort for such a simple request.

Super clean, friendly staff, usually not too busy, right near a Starbucks, what’s not to love? The equipment is always working properly and well maintained. I’m pretty sure PF makes the gyms replace the machines after a certain time so they’re always in good condition. I like that the staff is helpful when you need them, but they don’t bother you while you’re working out. I’ve had this issue at other gyms and it’s refreshing that neither staff nor other members have interrupted my workout to give unsolicited “advice”. It always smells fresh and clean, never stuffy, never moldy smelling (another problem I’ve had at other gyms). I love that they are always open, and it seems no matter what time there’s always at least two employees. It makes it feel safer going late at night. Overall it’s a great location and the price is hard to beat!

Went in today with my mom as a guest to try out Planet Fitness. She has a black-level membership, so she’s allowed to bring one guest (Among other cool perks). Today, I was lucky enough to be her guest. I have never been to a PF before anywhere/ever, before today, but my mom loves going here so I decided to give it a shot. I was helped by an employee (Hope G.), who impressed me so much with her friendliness and people skills that I decided to sign up for a black-level membership (So I can go to any location, among other worthwhile perks). The bottom line: I had a great experience here today. I am happy about 3 things today: 1) I finally decided to come into PF 2) Becoming a new PF Member and 3) Receiving outstanding service and care from Hope G. today. THANK YOU Hope and PF Team!! 😃👌👍🙏

Love this location! It’s incredibly clean, the equipment is in great shape, and the staff seem kind and professional! I really enjoy coming here. I live right by an LA Fitness and Gold’s, but prefer to go a little bit farther for the exceptional atmosphere here.

The staff is always ready to help and polite.

Night staff could tone down the yelling. I come to workout and I leave exhausted. In both instances they scream their greeting and farewell. We’re walking by you, no more than 3 feet away. You don’t need to scream.

Been to 30+ location, some really good ones too. But this location has really mean staff working for them.

So glad gyms opened up. 6 bikes w/backs on floor, only 2 available. Dont go peak times or youll have to wait. Otherwise, great.

This gym is good and clean BUT!!!! This cleaning lady is super annoying. Every timeI’m in here she is vacuuming the very machine I’m on. Planet fitness is open 24 hrs a day. I wish they would have their cleaning crew come in at night or teach them some sort of gym cleaning etiquette. Back off! When we are working out

I joined and have the Black card with all the perks!! Massage tanning and hydro massage chairs and table besides all the great workout equipment!!! I can go anywhere in the country now! Yay me!!!!

Friendly, clean, lots of equipment and free training! Plus, just an awesome 30 minute workout. I drive 20 minutes to get there...worth every bit of it. Very happy.

I used to be have a membership at Golds but for half the price I can take my friends and tan. Not as many uncomfortable people here either. PF is always clean and I usually dont have to wait to use a machine.

A little tight, but very modern, and many different machines! Plus the people at the front were super nice!

Planet fitness has a good variety of workout equipment. Walking through the door, staff is pleasant, a quick process to check in. Even as a guest it was okay. After inside, there is not many staff available to assist if questions arise. I had to stop what I was doing to go back up front to get assistance.

Workout area and restrooms are always clean. Staff is courteous. Equipment is kept in good working order. Cant beat the value.

I love all of the black card perks! Price is reasonable, clean spacious facility! All the equipment you need, friendly staff. Comfortable environment. Ive struggled with being active my whole life until I found this place! I actually can say I enjoy going to the gym! Some days are harder than others but here its somehow fun to workout!

They were the starting point for what has now become a truly essential habit of working out for me. Infinitely grateful for the first few bundled instructional sets with the trainer there, she was great. We had to cancel cuz of covid (we built a gym in our air conditioned garage, but we know not everyone can do that), but they were super understanding and accommodating. When we went in to cancel, there were few enough people in there that I wouldnt feel crazy to work out there, just have to mask. Everything looked impeccably clean, i think theyre taking it very seriously. If you ARE in a situation where you need gym access, this is probably your best bet in the area. Great rates too. Just cant recomend enough, thanks yall well be back!

I am pleasantly surprised with the facilities. Everything is clean and well-maintained. While not a luxury gym, PF has some higher end features (such as black card lounge, hydro massage, etc) that I wouldnt expect for the membership price. I have been a member of several different gyms and so far PF is my favorite one. Plus staff is super nice and helpful, shower area is more than adequate, and tons of equipment.

I love the Westgate location. The staff is awesome and the facility is always clean. I highly recommend upgrading to the black card. The amenities are totally worth it. And who can beat 24 hour accessibility?

Compare to other planet Fitness They have lasting hot water. Also, a wide variety of equipment and the facility is very well kept.

10 min max in massage chair when no one else is even there

Easy to use, rarely have to wait for a machine. Extremely friendly staff, they greet you with a smile no matter how early. I once dropped my keys into the stair climber and they all stopped to lift the machine and get them out, no complaints or eye rolls bc of my silly mistake.

Staff very friendly, gym in great conditions and always very clean. Very new equipment. Overall great facility. I drive past another location simply because this one is much nicer. Ive been to other planet fitness but this one is the best one Ive been to.

I love working out here because its always clean, the staff are friendly, and its easy to find my way around. As a newbie to the gym I really appreciated the 30 minute circuit area because I didnt have to wonder what to do or time myself. I think Planet Fitness is perfect for anyone who is intimidated to go to the gym or isnt sure how to start their fitness journey. Just show up and start with the 30 minute circuit and go from there!

Very kind people and staff

Was here today to cancel my membership. It renews on 11/1/18, today is 10/1/18. Im within 30 days and should be able to cancel per my contract. The manager on duty was rude to me and insisted I cant cancel until the 10/17/18 and that I must come into the branch that day or I will be charged $58 tax. The Hispanic female manage with highlighted hair and no name tag continued to be rude to me telling me that I signed a contract and I should know the details. Well yes I did and fulfilled that contract and do not want it to renew. This is the biggest scam ever. She outright lied to my face and refused to cancel my membership so that she can continue to bill me. This is outrageous to me. Sure seems like a hassle free cancellation as specified when I signed up. I will never be a customer again and anyone who cares to ask me will know my experience. Dont do business with Planet Fitness they are liars and con artists. Ill be stopping payment with my bank account. Dont fall for their lies or tricks. Shame on you Planet Fitness, how many people fall victim to your deceit and false promises?

Best PF location in town....and out of town. I’ve been to a number of PF locations from San Antonio to RR and this one is by far the best! Super clean and updated facility. Helpful and friendly staff and tons of equipment in a laid back atmosphere. It’s pretty much perfect!

Nice facilities and a friendly staff make Planet Fitness a great place to work out. I really value Esly, the personal trainer I workout with. She is knowledgeable, professional and is a pleasure to work with. She has really helped me understand the most effective techniques to achieve the results Im looking for.

All you could want in a mid sized gym. Nice people, chill atmosphere, and plenty of machines. The front desk guys are nice when we forget our key fobs. Minimal dressing rooms, no sauna. But great for a gym right down the street.

The staff and facilities are super clean. During covid I was nervous about joining a gym, but this location changed my mind.

Exceptionally clean, temperature cool, staff is very friendly, very reasonable cost.Two years or so later; not sure about days but at night the temperature is uncomfortable, way to warm now. Attendants working lied about the fans only having one speed, when Ive asked others to adjust the speed and they did. Night attendants lied about the AC temperature settings saying it cant be adjusted when others have adjusted it. Not sure if why this is an issue or if the attendants are adjusting the temperature to thier own likings. I wonder it the other locations are having the some issues with the AC. This wasnt an issue before.June 2019 now they seemed to have raised the temperature & slowed down the fans during the day too. My wife and I visited the Slaughter location which I used to go to before this location was opened, and it was cooler.July 2019 spoke with Bruce about fans turned down so low and he made adjustments during my visit. Thanks Bruce!

I’ve been a member for about 2 years now and haven’t paused to give a review. But after my experience today, I am giving this pf 5 stars because Samantha at the front desk is probably the kindest staffer I have ever met at a gym. She offered to hold my keys for me while I worked out, got me a new tag because I realized after walking in that my member id fell off my keychain. She did all this with a huge smile that was notably authentic! I love the way she treated me and other members. If anyone embraces the PF values, it is Samantha HANDS DOWN.

Switching over from a paid membership to the Silver Sneakers program was quick and simple. Employee was efficient and extremely helpful. Gym looked well maintained and clean. Looking forward to working out there in future.

Very clean and updated. this location may look small but they actually have a huge ab workout station kinda hidden to through an opening on the right thats wheelchair accessible. and since its a relatively newer location, the machines and locker rooms are a little more updated.

I’m not entirely sure why this location has such a high rating. It is indeed great with the exception of a few things.There isn’t much equipment to work with here compared to other Planet Fitness locations. The hot water has not properly worked in the showers since I became a member. I asked management about this 6+ months ago and they stated the issue was being resolved. Til’ this day, it still does not properly work. You have about 2-5mins before it’s completely cold again. Finally, when getting dressed in the locker room, the light timer has a low threshold set. It does not detect movement in the private dressing rooms and will completely shut off on you within moments leaving you in complete and total darkness. The first time it happened, I thought it was a sick joke and felt like I was in a horror film.Get these things resolved, and the practically 5 star rating will suffice.
