The staff at The Timothy Center has been beyond amazing! The returned my initial call in a matter of time. They helped me to understand how to help my child. They paired us with an amazing therapist who we are comfortable with. They care!!

We have had a good experience with our provider. I took off star due to the fact they told us before starting treatment we would pay $45 per visit, but ultimately that was wrong and we ended up having to pay $200 per visit which is not affordable and they would not honor their original agreement for the price of treatment. Otherwise the staff is nice and helpful when I have needed them.

I’ve been overall disappointed with the Timothy Center after spending several months there working with two counselors and and recently working with Courtney Bearden. There is no way to directly communicate with her and you must go through someone else which I dont understand and adds to confusion sometimes. I just wish there was more help offered than what she had to offer.I began working with the Timothy Center in the middle of COVID with Jennifer Hicks. She advised working with someone else there early on (given my background) but gave me the choice of continuing with her or not. But when that person (Christy Copeland) did not work out she wouldn’t continue us working together. I don’t really blame her as I am a handful but it still hurt to feel without help even though I was given references but they had really low reviews or weren’t otherwise a fit. I wish that it wasn’t this difficult to find good-faith based professional counseling but if you can’t afford it in the first place and then have these kinds of experiences it’s very hard to keep up the search.

UPDATE: I took Mr Meyer at his word as a business owner and have not heard from him nor his staff per his invitation below. I think that lack of action says what needs to be said about how genuine his words were.STEER CLEAR! Why? I am a former consulting scientist; someone who was paid for advice on a time basis. If my performance was as poor as what i received at the Timothy Center I would have been benched (internally reassigned to lesser projects) or fired. The client would have been fully reimbursed and compensated in a way to prevent a lawsuit. The staff here is woefully under qualified for anything save a chat that one could have with a good friend for free or a dinner. Please save yourself any expense and trouble and if you do engage them ask the following:1) Have you dealt with these issues before?2) When? How many times? What was the outcomes? What did you learn from the first case to the last?3) What references do you have of clients with these issues?

I cannot recommend the Timothy Center. They charged my card for services which I did not agree with. I am in a back and forth with my bank over that.

This is a WONDERFUL counseling center with caring professionals. Jennifer has years of experience and is very knowledgeable in her field of expertise. I’ve used them in the past as well and the quality and care is still top notch. They now take insurance which has helped tremendously.

Extremely upset with services. I wasn’t notified about a rule they have about prescriptions until I was already inside the appointment and ended up spending over $300 for an appointment that didn’t help me. Continued to go for more help and learned some staff members are just not educated in all scopes of medicine. Missed an appointment during COVID-19 because of confusion of how appointments would proceed and got charged $175 and they wouldn’t refund me after I explained I didn’t understand. These are financially hard times and I don’t appreciate being treated like this by a therapy/psychiatric company. Almost $1,000 later and none of my problems have been improved. Thank you, Timothy Center, for the financial burden.

My wife and I are currently in distance Marriage Counceling with Liz Lawrence. We live in Atlanta and they provide this service as a convenient way to receive services from the comfort of your home. Liz has been great in helping us work through some things. I would recommend the Timothy Center to anyone looking for help and support. They even take our insurance! Great decision for our family.

Jimmy Myers has been our family counselor for the better part of 12 years. He is professional, relevant, and no-nonsense. I dont always like what he has to say...truth is sometimes a bitter pill! Ive swallowed, digested, and not only has my 32 year marriage benefited, but so have all my relationships including mine now with our adult children & their spouses.

Excellent so far. Great Pastor who loves God, we disagree on some things but thats ok. We dont have to agree on everything in order for the things Im going for to be resolved. I am very blessed for having this Christian organization to help people like us.

I saw Jimmy Meyers as a teenager briefly and he helped me work through some depression. Because of this good experience, I again saw him as a young adult. I was in desperate need of counseling due to an unhealthy marriage. I confided in him about my husbands abusive behaviors- both verbal and emotional. This man had bipolar disorder and self medicated with drugs and alcohol. I should have left him long before that point but I was young, naive and had just had a baby.I eventually brought my husband in for a session hoping that a third party would somehow get through to him.Dr. Meyers told my husband that problems are never 90/10, if anything they are 60/40.I couldnt believe what I was hearing. We had just been discussing his verbal abuse. So essentially I was 40% responsible for being called horrendous names on a daily basis. I dont know what Dr. Meyers was hoping to achieve with this statement but he gave a bipolar narcissist further justification to treat me like garbage.I saw another counselor months after, shared the exact same information, met with her and my husband, on the next solo appointment she told me I needed to leave before I got killed. So I did. And now that I am on the other side of that nightmare I have wanted to tell Jimmy just how his counseling impacted me.You should be ashamed of yourself.

Ive visited Dr. Jimmy Myers office at the Timothy Center for help with my family during very difficult times. He is a wealth of wisdom and very honest about what it takes to make progress. The amount his advice and structure has helped my family is immeasurable. Ive also heard from several friends how excellent Joshua Myers is with teens. They appreciate and respect him and have eased much of their familial anxiety. I have referred countless friends to The Timothy Center and will continue to do so in the future.

I have tried for 3 weeks now to get help for my teen at this center and have never recieved a response. I even made a 1 hour and 30 minute drive from Boerne to the south Austin location and waited patiently outside the Counseling room for the therapist to end their session so that I could finally speak to a live person because no one ever returned any of my messages and I gave all my contact info to the therapist and it has now been a week since I spoke to that therapist and still have not heard from anyone yet. I guess this is a very selective religious organization. I didnt think a faith based organization could be this way but boy was I wrong.
