Excellent office and wonderful caring therapists. The business office made some mistakes but when I spoke with Ms. Rix she was very caring and patient, listening to everything I wax concerned about and immediately correctly my account as well as just making all of my sessions free. The world is so crazy (Ongoing COVID, natural disasters, etc) right now we all need to have some compassion and understanding. If the owner goes out of their way to make things right, keeping a 1 star review is malicious. My entire family loves Better Path and Tina Rix, the clinic owner, is a lovely and kind woman!

Let me start off by saying that my actual therapist was amazing and I am so happy to have had her as a therapist. The reason I am leaving this review is because of the lack of professionalism within the company. Several of my sessions were double booked in which I always had to reschedule later and later. This was not the fault of my therapist as she had no control over the scheduler, but of their incompetent scheduler. In one instance, I was rescheduled twice within the same week and then scheduled with a completely different therapist than the one I had already established care with. I was charged for this appointment even though I did not attend (because they were not my therapist) and they still refuse to resolve this. In addition, I had an issue with insurance where the claim was submitted to the wrong sector of my insurance which caused the sessions to not be covered. I have called and called and called to get this resolved and yet every time I do, either no one answers at all or no one seems to be able to adequately explain to me why no one is following up with me on this. I also find it odd that whenever I do call, the only person I seem to be allowed to speak with is the scheduler/receptionist and she’s never able to connect me to anyone in the insurance or billing department.Again, absolutely none of this is at the fault of my therapist. She is absolutely amazing. However, I do believe that this company is shady/a scam and extremely unprofessional and urge you to not to use this company.

Overall, my therapist has been a very good listener and never misses an appointment. She has brought to light the areas I bring up in our sessions and helpful points regarding my relationship dynamic and how we can better ourselves as individuals and as a couple. It has been great having a 3rd party listen and provide advice on what the next steps are to improve our relationship.

This company has been treating our familys mental health needs since 2017 in Austin, TX. They are wonderful and Tina Rix, the owner, is kind, warm, and fair. If the billing dept. makes a mistake ever (has happened twice since 2017), Tina has the company take a complete loss and makes the session free for us. So we definitely recommend Better Path Family Counseling. They are an excellent group of licensed therapists and counselors.

My experience with Better Path Family Counseling has been amazing. My therapist Tina Rix is the only one outside my family that I have ever opened up to. Even though Tina is a multiple businesses owner, she is always willing to be there when needed and someone I trust and highly recommend.

I have been with this company for over 1 year, Tina Rix provides a much-needed space to be able to discuss what is going on in my life. I really feel like she listens to me and provides proper questions to help guide me to my own solutions and that challenges me at times. She also provides literature, podcasts, and other sources outside of our sessions to help provide me with other perspectives. I never leave a session without feeling helped, guided, or more clear than how I walked in.

All counseling takes place on zoom, counselor did not even show up and they billed my ehap anyway. The do not answer the phone or response to emails. This place is awful. I recommend looking elsewhere.

Tina Rix was my counselor a couple of years ago. I usually had to call her to remind her of our appointment because she was never online when it was time and many times she rescheduled for another date or another time because she had forgotten or she was out. When you psychic yourself up to do this and to get the counseling and somebody is not there for you or cancels on you continuously it’s very disheartening…..

Maybe my problems weren’t tragic enough to receive professional counseling? I am leaving therapy feeling more deflated than I did when I started. The therapist I started with was too busy to call on time and at least twice missed an appointment altogether, without notice.I asked to try a different therapist who could act more professionally. The second therapist was ok, but a lot of the time seemed distracted and offered little insight or dialogue. She was often late calling me and would cancel just before our call. When we were able to connect she was taking my call while she was driving. From my experience, this team is amateur at best. Better Path was a disappointment and waste of my time and money.

Cognizant of the ethical considerations in public testimonials, this review intends to refrain from specifying my personal experience in therapy, conveying unrealistic expectations, or oversimplifying the therapeutic process. It should be noted that the client-therapist relationship is unparalleled and takes time to evolve. Furthermore, clients treatment modalities are subjective; meaning what is suitable for some may not be for others. What I know for sure is that your brokenness is not unique; as we all break in similar ways and fortunately for us, healing is available. If you are against therapy or a bit reluctant, I urge you to go at least once. Essentially, you deserve to have unbiased guidance from a mental health clinician to assess and treat what’s happening on the inside of you. As a recipient of services provided by Better Path Family Counseling and Consulting, I refer this practice to do just that. Best of luck in seeking a safe space and building a sense of community surrounding mental health treatment. I expect that you will find who and what you are looking for; be it here or elsewhere.

I had to do some court order family classes. Little did I know I would be learning so much as well as benefiting sooo much from my counseling. I was with Tina Rix and not only did she teach me how to be a better parent she also took time from her schedule to help me with some families things that had no bearing on any reason I was taking the course. I would recommend her as well as better path to anyone such a great teamThanks you guys
