Super quick response, was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. James came by and was great. Polite, professional, explained what he was doing and why. Thankfully the problem turned out to be user error (gotta push that RAM in until it clicks, y’all), but it was totally worth the price to get a second set of eyes and another brain on the problem. Hopefully I never need them, but if I do I know I’ll be confident in choosing Nerds in a Flash again!

Came and got rid of a pop-up virus. Also, fine-tuned computer while he was here. Made some suggestions. Offered to sell some hardware, but it was soft-sell: no real pressure. Over-all if I wanted to have something done, I would call him back.

Highly recommend Nerds in a Flash! My desktop PC inexplicably gave me the infamous blue screen of death recently, and I was unable to access any of my files, let alone log on to my computer. I got in contact with James of Nerds in a Flash, and he was out to visit within a day! He spent the weekend backing up all of my computers files, restoring my hard drives, and had my computer (and effectively my job as I work remote) back to me in under 4 days!
Same day service, on time, wearing a mask and very responsible as far as maintaining social distance. Also very willing to go above and beyond... Didnt just fix the problem I called about but also delved more deeply into how I use the computer and whether some other simple changes might make my work more easy and efficient. James Allen of NIAF was super responsive. Respected my home, COVID masked, and walked me through what needed to be done with a clear quote for the work.He did a fabulous job and my computer, which was dead in the water, operates better than when I first got it! Upgraded OS, cleaned up malware, configured settings to optimize performance, and upgraded disk space to 0.5TB allowing me to store on laptop, with backup on OneDrive...nicely synched and also Carbonite backup for extra good measure. Previously, only had 165GB which was eaten up mostly by applications and OS, so I feel much more secure and have flexible storage options. Boot up time is almost instantaneous!I fully endorse James and NIAF and they are now my default contract IT support team!
Lost our printer and phone in recent ice storm and needed to find out what the problem was. James was great in finding out our modem had a problem. Will absolutely recommend their services when you are stuck and cant figure out why something is not working.

I had just bought a new computer and was going to transfer data to my new computer when my old one crashed. He was able to take apart my old crashed Windows 7 computer and transfer the data to my new Mac. He took old computer with him, ordered windows 10, installed it on old computer. I never thought I would pay someone else to work on a computer for me. So would say I went in with high expectations. James listened to my issues, told me his plan of action and he delivered in a very timely manner even though the work spanned a holiday weekend. Very bad experience going here. I came in with an issue with my gaming computer having crashing issues while under high load. After about a day or so they called me and told me that my computer has randomly exploded, started smoking and killed their buildings power. This made no sense to me as this never happened with my 5 years of owning the computer. I went into their store and talked to them about this random explosion that happened, when Kelly started acting very nervous. This is when I knew something was up, and that this was no random explosion. They never told me how the explosion happened, but I think I know it did not randomly happen.However, they did replace the part that was exploded which was great but I was still charged for the initial repair cost. They never refunded me for the initial repair cost, never fixed the crashing with my computer, exploded my computer, were very dishonest with what happened, and left me with where I started when I first brought my computer in. This review might sound fake with how bad my experience was, but this indeed happened in 2019. I will never be going back here.
Probably one of the worst pc repairs shops I have ever been to in Austin. Seriously. They do not know what they are doing with any hardware, are liars, and very unprofessional. Do not waste your time or your money with these people, there are far better places out there in the great city of Austin!

My hard drive crashed on my iMac and I reached out to Nerds in a Flash and they were able to come to my house within 2 hours. James was very professional and knowledgeable and determined that I needed a new hard drive and gave me some options. He said it would take about a week to get the parts in and get it repaired, but had it back to me in one business day. I thought so much of the service, I asked him to look at an old MacBook that I had and they are repairing now. Cant say enough about the service and convenience.
Great service. Technician arrived quickly. He was fast efficient and solved my computers problem quickly. His recommendations on anti virus were well thought out and have worked great. I thought the service was expensive but after looking around I realized it was competitive or better than other services. I was pleased overall with my experience.

I had them come out to my store to fix a printer that wasn’t responding pretty simple job and go over all my connections was here about 45 minutes everything seemed good when they left the next day same problem occurred nothing was ever fixed called them twice and left messages that was two weeks ago now no call back so very disappointed in my experience!! I gave them two weeks to call me back to try to resolve this issue crickets no response

This was my first time using them. To say the least, I have been incredibly impressed with the level of knowledge, service, and professionalism. I had a fan and hard drive problem which was pledging my laptop and I was about to lose my data. James was fantastic. He knew what the problem was, upgraded me to a solid state drive, and took a look at a possible memory upgrade for me. He even went the extra mile in cloning the old drive to the new using three different cloning software packages, because the first two failed. He went to the extra effort in making sure that the drive transfer was a total success. Now my machine is feeling and running like brand new. Thank you and Ill be using you all again. This group of IT experts beats any other techs weve tried, including some well-known ones. When they came out the first time, it was for a malicious virus and it shut down my computer completely. They had to take it in and returned it the next week, ready to go. Unfortunately, I panicked when I got a warning supposedly from Microsoft that my computer was compromised. When I finally realized that this was not Microsoft, I shut everything down and called my Nerd and he was able to return and showed me what had happened. It was compromised by an outside source, so he took it back and cleaned it all up, and restored my programs. I couldnt be happier...except now that I have over 1800 emails to check out, but thats MY problem that Im happy to resolve. Many thanks to James and Kelley.

I had a problem with Outlook that had lasted for years. I had taken my computer to several local companies, but no one could fix the problem. Kelly identified the problem (it involved read response emails that were never sent) and fixed it.
The personable NIF tech came over right away and readily diagnosed the problem with our PC, reuniting my son with his beloved Minecraft servers. Plus it didnt cost me an arm and a leg! Quickly responds to updates, tune ups of laptops, removal of malware, and slow operation.
Kelly came by, spent about 45-50 minutes on my laptop and left. The email issue was not fixed. I sent him a text message, actually two, and he never answered me back. My email still doesnt work and as of right now still have not heard back from the guy.
After a new modem was installed by our ISP none of the computers at office could print or access internet, James and Kelly came out same day and had everything up and running within a couple of hours. Very professional.

Worst bait and switch everWasted time and money with these guys. They arrived late. That happens but failure to disclose pricing wow. Went to Frys and solved the problem at half the price it cost me to have them not solve my problems.
I have used Nerds in a Flash on 3 different occasions; on the fourth a minor glitch showed up after the technician departed. The technician did return and corrected the problem and was very apologetic that a return visit was necessitated.
